3 Margaritas

Normally we like this restaurant. But tonight service was very slow even though it was not busy. Even after asking for our check it took 15 minutes to get it.

Sitting in the restaurant & waitress asks, can I help you. Yes & I order a margarita. Another girl comes right behind & asks if I would like a drink nope but ready to order OK and leaves 10 min later the other girl comes back & takes my order. Then they bring my drink to the wrong table. Then they bring me the wrong food. Finally get my semi cold food and not good. No one comes to check on me so ask the girl waiting on another table for napkins they never came. Food sucked &. Margarita ok.
Ask for bill & get a to go box. Ask for bill again. Wow, just wow. Horrible service and food!

Service is really, really slow. Food is ok; chips were stale, salsa lacks flavor, and food is just bland. There are many other better Mexican restaurants nearby that far exceed the quality at this one.

I was expecting this place to be bad from pervious reviews. I actually really liked it. The salsa is a little to runny for my taste but not bad. The drinks are very well priced. You can get margaritas and a ton of other specialty drinks from 5 to 7 dollars! You also get a ton of food! I have enough leftovers for a meal and a half! They have the best chilli renos i have ever had. Get them crispy (fried). Seriously, they are delicious. I thought this place has great drink prices and alot of food.

I have eaten at 3 Margaritas years ago in another city in CO and the food was decent. We decided to take the family to the Wadsworth/​Lakewood location and let’s just say it was a huge mistake. The salsa was awful, very runny and no taste. The chips were stale. My kids «chicken» tenders were processed meat. My burrito not only looked awful, but tasted awful. Onions and peppers inside were all raw and it was filled with runny beans and a horrible tomato like sauce. Cheese on top was not even melted. Tortilla was like paper, so dry and stale. My Mother’s salad was also horrific. The chicken looked like pale wood chips with limp and old lettuce. We asked to see the manager who proceeded to tell me that «another lady ordered the same thing and she liked it». What on earth does that have to do with me!!! I decided to taste my husband’s «steak» taco salad which was very saucy, almost like Chinese food sauce. The meat was also poor quality. But wait, it get’s better… my first bite, I felt a very sharp pain in my gum, only to pull out a piece of metal that looked like a large bent staple. My gum was bleeding. At this point I was really pissed off and called the manager back over and told him what had just happened. He then told me «sorry, we have insurance if you need to file a claim». We walked out, stomachs empty, painful gums and a feeling of «what the eff just happened!!!». Will NEVER return to 3 Margs again!!!

Great food and service. Very reliable place for a decent meal. We Have been coming here for years and the staff is always friendly.

Great service, but generic, average food with higher than average prices. We had chicken taquitos which were bland, burnt, and $ 10 for an appetizer portion. The enchiladas should not be ordered and skip the ceviche. Order drinks and eat somewhere else.

Two words… no bueno. Nothing authentic, and the margaritas were horrible. I could only taste the sweet and sour mix. But on the plus side the service was good.

Despite some of the other reviews I have read, my boyfriend and I received great service here. Our server was nice and attentive without bombarding us. The band does get very loud but they must have caught my looks of «please don’t play in front of us» glances, and they kept to the other side — which was nice. It was just very loud for the space.
As far as the food was concerned, this place is the first Mexican restaurant I have been to in Denver that remotely resembles the Mexican food I’m used to. No, they are not «authentic», but honestly, I have not found an authentic place in Denver — even by Unilocalers who insist that a restaurant is authentic.
To the food: my boyfriend ordered a margarita and I ordered a lemonade. His margarita was quite strong and he seemed very happy with it. He’s not a sweet margarita — or food — person so it must not have been overly sugary, contrary to another review I read. The salsa was a little tomato-​ey, but it was a relief to not have cabbage mixed in… something unique to many Denver Mexican restaurants… apparently. The queso dip was good, not exactly what I was looking for, but I was happy with it.
I ordered a burrito loco… I don’t recall my boyfriend’s dish… it was a dinner combo. My burrito was HUGE and so good I ate ¾ and ate the rest for lunch the next day. My boyfriend was very happy with his meal also. Ultimately, we decided to make this our «good-​to restaurant» when we crave Mexican.

Large portions of cheap re-​heated tex-​mex. Overly sweet margs. What I expected just hoped to be surprised. No such luck.

Atmosphere and food was fine. The drinks and the managers attitude… Not so much. Definitely not impressed. Won’t be back.

Well after 8 years of coming here I am pretty sure this was my last visit. We decided to try something different today that was a shrimp dish and it tasted like rancid shrimp so we didn’t touch the dish. The server asked if everything was ok and we said no worries we just didn’t care for that one dish. Then the manager (younger guy who use to be a waiter) came out and was so rude to us about it, we weren’t challenging them on their food at all but he was so mad it made us never want to come in again. This is the first time we had this experience but it was enough to leave a lasting impression on us and to never want to come back.

My husband is a very picky eater. So when we went to this place the first time, I was pleasantly surprised that he liked the food. I had the tortilla soup myself and it was very good. I also had the drink «vampiro» which, despite it sounding sweet, was much more sour than sweet. I asked if there was a way to make the drink sweeter to the waitress but she just said no. So I was stuck nursing this drink. But all the food we had was very good otherwise.
A week later, we ordered to go and it was delicious again. Their burritos and chimichangas are great!
A week or so after that, we ordered out again. This time they gave us chicken instead of beef in the chimichanga, as we ordered. I called the store, talked to Anna, who had said they were closed but they would make us a beef chimichanga and I could walk in for it. Which was awesome. However, I went back, took the meal and went home with it … only to discover that we were given a bean burrito. At that point, my husband and I were on the verge of giving up on the place but I called back and spoke to the manager, Alex, 30 minutes after the store was closed and told him our problems. He immediately rectified it by saying he would give me 2 free items from the menu the next day.
And he stayed true to his promise! Nothing was wrong, the food was fresh and delicious and he even threw in some cheese dip into the mix with a ton of chips. Had it not been for Alex, I’m not sure we would have been comfortable conning back again. Thank you!
Long story (one I already told you!) short, definitely give this place a shot. The manager obviously cares about his costumers and the cooks do a great job with the food.
A few more good experiences and I think I’ll change this review to 5 stars!

Everything was pretty mediocre. Food had some flavor but overall was bland. Server was nice but overwhelmed which made things slow. Its decent, but nothing great

No personal attention. Waiter never looked at us. Just wanted to get out. Good is always ok, good. Bartender too busy to handle the crowd. Never had the best experience here.

My boyfriend and I went there for our anniversary and the experience was wonderful. The waitress greated us in spanish. It through him off at first until I traslated. The food was yummy and the margaritas were great. I recommend the 1800 or blue margarita. We were so full, we skipped out on dessert.
I would love to eat here again, hopefully before our next anniversary.

3 Margaritas is pretty standard amongst Mexican food restaurants. Their offerings are the usual combo plates and burritos and enchiladas, nothing special but great in a pinch. I must say that at least their food is less salty than Hacienda Colorado. If you go on a weeknight for dinner be prepared though because a band of mariachis floats around and in such a confined space, the sound is quite blaring.

Waited 5 minutes for a host to appear and they never did. Went to Hacienda Colorado instead and got good drinks and food.

I adore this place! The food is delicious, the staff is phenomenal, and the atmosphere is welcoming. I usually order the chile relleno because it’s cooked to perfection, and because it’s meatless. Their chips and salsa are so fresh, and that stuff with the mushrooms (which I clearly don’t know the name for) is amazing too!
You should go!

3 Margaritas is A-​OK in my book. I honestly have nothing negative to say about it, but it also doesn’t leave me wanting more.
The wait staff was friendly, patient, and attentive. Our waitress came by on four separate occasions to refill our water glasses. We were there for perhaps 45 minutes around noon.
They have an extensive menu with a variety of tex-​mex options along with more traditional Mexican fare. I’ve never been there for dinner, but their lunch specials are quite reasonable. For under $ 7, I got a smothered beef chimichanga with guacamole, rice, beans, and cole slaw. The food was good, not great. Like I said, no real complaints. I have no qualms going back to 3 Margaritas, but it is also not a restaurant on my «must go» list.
