All my Korean comfort foods + sashmi all in one place: Korean jjigae(soup), sushi rolls, sashimi, sweet & sour chicken wings at price that won’t break the bank. When your Korean grandma insists on going here and doesn’t complain that she can make it better, it’s a good pick. And it’s especially impressive when you can cater your business toward first generation Koreans and still stay afloat. It’s SOLID authentic Korean food and SASHIMI at an affordable price and open till 1:30 am on Saturdays. The décor isn’t anything to envy. The service is… okay… more of a «meh» but not horrendous… meaning I often joke that good food at asian restaurants means bad service but I didn’t have to use that joke here. THATBEINGSAID — I’ve always been more a food type of gal over atmosphere and service. So since all my favorite foods are available here and done well at a price that won’t break the bank, I can’t help but this place on my favorites list.

I’ve been to this place a couple of times and enjoyed their sushi. The price WERE reasonable until they jacked up their prices(and NOT by the common $ 0.50 increase). Not aware that they had increased their price, we ordered the same items we usually get — sushi, eel, spicy chicken wings and mackerel for about $ 30 but yesterday it costed us $ 100+…we brought friends so we were expecting it to be more than $ 30, but not to $ 100!.. the price increase of the mackeral was $ 7!!!, almost DOUBLING the price. even worst… the portion DECREASED. I gave this place a 2 star because they do have decent sushi and spicy chicken wing, but that’s about it. The quality does not fit the new price and I felt cheated because of the smaller portion but way higher price.

Arigato has been a great discovery for me. It’s pretty hard to find a sushi joint around this area without having to fork over $ 30+ for sliced raw fish. Their menu is a combination of korean cuisine and japanese cuisine, so theres quite a number of things to choose from. Reading some of these lower-starred reviews I’m surprised! I’ve been there a number of times since they’ve opened, I can’t say I’ve ever had bad quality fish. I think what people also need to remember is the lower the prices are, the lower quality the fish will be.(*I’m not saying they have low quality fish — I actually feel that Arigato’s quality is very reasonable for the price.) Aside from the sushi/sashimi selection, the rest of their menu ranges from noodle dishes(ex. Yakisoba), to soups, meats etc… I would recommend their rolls, sashimi and the sweet&spicy chicken! You get a mix of about 8 wings and drumsticks that are crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside. Saucy, so they are finger lickin’ good. I haven’t eaten much more other than what I’ve mention in this post but that’s only because I usually come to fulfill my sushi fix.

I only went to this place because my male friends were so fond of it. This place is right next to a phở place they like so thats how they found it. Its so tiny I dont know how anyone else could find this place. Its pretty spacious on the inside. The place smells like dirty aquarium because they have several aquariums inside. The sushi rolls are descent but nothing spectacular. If you are looking for sashimi however this place is surprisingly pretty good with that. Sashimi is super red and fresh. I wont want to go again, but for people looking for sub par okay priced sushi/korean/chinese food, this is your place ;)

Like most of the other reviewers, I noticed a lot of the sushi is just redecorated california rolls. Still, I love california rolls, and the prices are good. You can get quite a lot of sushi rolls for not a lot of money. If you want better ambiance, seat yourself in the smaller room straight ahead of the door by the sushi chef. The rest of the restaurant isn’t that great, but that room is cozy and nicely decorated.

Not the best sushi I’ve ever had. The prices were great but the sushi was below par. My wife and I ordered 4 different rolls that were shown on their picture menu placed on the wall and all of them ended up being California Rolls with something on top of it! I wouldn’t recommend the sushi but the sweet and spicy crispy chicken was good. I give them credit for staying open so late on weekends because I would definitely go back if I was SLUNGRY(sleepy & hungry) and wanted some sushi in the middle of the night.

It’s half-passed midnight. My BFF and I are hungry. We make some stops, but failed at our attempts. Then we remembered, «Phở on South Tacoma Way is open!» After we parked, we noticed the«Open» sign lit for Arigato Sushi. Sushi or phở? SUSHI! What sushi restaurant stays open and serves til 2AM? A Korean owned sushi restaurant, of course!(Koreans own everything on South Tacoma Way, including the phở restaurant across the street.) It was my second time eating here. The first time, the BFF’s family took us out for dinner where they splurged. They ordered a whole bunch of food that I cannot name – both Korean and Japanese cuisine. Her Mom somehow convinced the«ajima»(name for older Korean women) to give us free green tea ice-cream. This last time, my girlfriend and I went in for a quick bite – something different from phở – which is offered next door and across the street til 4AM. Luckily, we got there before they closed at 2AM – which is still late. They had a menu of rolls, which I learned were mostly dressed up California rolls. However, they offered sashimi. So we ordered that and two more rolls. It was no surprise that the rolls were good(c’mon they were dressed up California rolls). I like this place because 1. I was just happy to find a sushi joint that was open. 2. …in Tacoma. And 3. it was cheap. The only thing that bothered me was the Korean TV show playing. Not necessarily because it was playing – but that it looked like a kids show and it’s for adults. But that’s a-whole-notha’ subject…
