Classy Sassy Braids & Beyond

I called to schedule an appointment and never got a call back to do my braids. It made me feel some sort of way. I kept calling them back and always told, my number was passed to someone else. I didn’t want to go anywhere else, because I have only read great reviews about Classy. So today unfortunately, I’m trying Titi and I know they’re awful but I can’t go to work like this. This is not a bad review because I will pray things get better with communication with Classy.

Absolutely horrible and I would never return to this salon. I’ve been getting my hair braided for years and I usually go to a African braiding shop. I had heard about this locally black owned business and wanted to support it so I checked out the website. The website is very nice and appears to have great stylist who can braid and know about hair care.
I asked for medium sized box braids and I got old school hair done in the hood size braids that were horribly done and came apart the next day. The stylist talked about other stylist and customers in front of me. One story was abut a grandmother who brought her granddaughter in and was unsatisfied with the service and style (she was treated the same as me from the story I heard). When I called to complain I was told only the girl who did them could fix them because she is the one who got paid and she would be out for a couple days. I asked for a manager and was told she would call me back and never heard from her. If I hadn’t been going out of town I would have taken them right out, but I suffered with then for a week then took them out. Very disappointing service that was absolutely not classy.

I called this shop late last week in hopes to get an appointment for today. I was certain that It was a long shot and I wouldn’t get one, but luckily I was able to get scheduled with Kia. Unfortunately, due to unforeseen circumstances I had to call and cancel my appointment. Kia was very understanding and told me to call when I can reschedule. Luckily, after an hour I was able to catch Kia right before she was heading out and get an appointment for that same day.
I’m very pleased that she was understanding and was still able to squeeze me in. She was very kind, polite, and made very good conversation. Oh, did I forget to mention that she hooked my hair up! It’s been tough for me to find a hair stylist that can manage and maintain my natural hair, and I’m really hoping that she’s the one. She has great availability which is a plus for me. My hair looks great and I’ll definitely be scheduling another appointment with Kia. The prices are fair to me and I believe is the average compared to most shops.

I have been natural for 12 years and wore braids for protection and convenience. Recently, my hair, once healthy and with great length became inexplicably damaged and short. I scheduled a consultation in advance but the lady that I was supposed to meet with totally forgot and when I got there, the staff members could not ‘confirm nor deny’ ;-) that she had. Nonetheless, they were cordial and did attempt a professional recovery by giving me tips and suggestions. After about 6 months, I tried again. I met with Miss Yvette: She was very professional, friendly, and showed genuine interest in finding a solution for my hair. My appointment started a little late – as to be expected for a Friday evening, but she did work my schedule in and accommodated me well. The shop showed a positive and fun environment. Not too noisy or chaotic as some salons can be. I like that Miss Yvette actually explained to me the methods that she was conducting on my hair and she acknowledged my wish by not using chemicals on my hair or too much heat. She did not ask me too many personal questions as some stylists do (I’m a private individual and do not care to share my life with others). I gave the shop 4 stars simply because of the mishap previously mentioned and because it was my first time visiting to be styled. I plan on going at the end of this month and will return once I have a second complete visit. Though, I must say– I have no doubt that this salon will earn its other stars.

I called in March to make an appointment after a few disasters with getting kinky twist in the Seattle area. The receptionist patiently listened to my story and I guess with empathy booked me appointment with the owner. Everyone was nice, helpful and knowledgable about their craft. I liked the fact that was able to get great advice with my natural hair journey. That means they don’t just braid you and that’s it. She carried a nice line of Mrs. Jessie’s product. I felt comfortable in coming back to actually follow through with growing natural as well as getting great styles.
Over all I give the shop 5 stars because they provided the hair for my style, great knowledge. I would next time go in for a consultation to make sure the colors I order are what I actually want. My hair came out nice but keep in mind colors very from company to company. For people with light colored hair like myself, that is crucial, I just could not invest the time to make that trip since I live an hour away. This is just an FYI to aid in ordering hair. The price was very reasonable and something I would do again.

So I called in to inquiry about starting dreads. was quoted a STARTING PRICE $ 400.00… HOW MUCH $ 400.00 UMPH OKAY Well I’m glad I called and asked before booking my appt… WOW you just put a bad taste in my mouth…

They get three stars for management. I got an e-​mail reminder for my appointment scheduled for 0930 a couple of days earlier. Anyways, when I showed, the salon was still closed. Actual opening hours is 1000. Clearly it was a mistake by the lady booking the appointment or something else. I didn’t have to work that day or had any commitments so I was not upset, however anyone else with an agenda might see this mishap as their end of patronage. As I mentioned in previous review, the hair styling quality is great so I will continue to come back however their management needs a little fine tuning.
