County of Los Angeles Public Library – Angelo M Iacoboni Library

Great library… I donate all my hard back books, audio tapes, and paperbacks each and every year to the library. Sometimes I think they should name their audio book section after me (LOL)!!!

For a library, they have a great selection of novels. Their staff is very helpful and kind. The people that go are transitioning into more of a homeless crowd but it’s still a good location. It’s clean and organized.

Staff and service is great here and there’s plenty of open space and study cubbies to choose from to get down to business. Wifi here however is is terrible as it takes several minutes to bring up even just the Google homepage! Lighting is good and patrons are respectful and mindful of others working in close proximity. I asked for assistance on a few different occasions to get the wifi going and the staff gave it their honest try but to no avail each time. Luckily, I can tether on my smartphone. All in all a great place to hunker down and study or get work done.

Great library! Friendly staff, lots of books, desks, chairs, computers, open space, movies, CD’s, the works!
Just one thing… What’s up with the Haunted VANsion always parked outside???

They say that a good library will never be too neat, or too dusty, because somebody will always be in it, taking books off the shelves and staying up late reading them.
This one’s just as good. The thing that I’m dissapointed about is the wifi. It’s so slow. If the internet is good, I’ll probably be here instead of some coffeeshop.

This is the best library in all of Los Angeles as far as I know. I’ve been in about 10 libraries in the LA area (OK — there are many more, but I’ll explain).
Lakewood is just north /​northeast of Long Beach, and they are their own community. The Lakewood Library (Angelo M. Iacoboni Library) has lots of computers, a good selection of books, and there’s a big shopping center across the street, including an Albertson’s grocery store. The post office and police station are on the same block, as well as a city-​center theatre type of building next door, too. The parking lot is huge, and they also have free wi-​fi. Sign-​up is easy and the library is a really good place to meet other smart, open-​minded and thoughtful people such as yourself.
The route 112 bus on the MTS public transit stops around the corner.
