I ordered a custom cake from here, and showed them a photo portraying what I want. Jessica, the master cake decorator, asked me if I wanted it to look just like the photo (I’m thinking to myself, «shoot, she probably doesn’t think it’s doable»). Little did I know, she was just asking because she thinks it can be more realistic, I told her to do what she wants with it as long as it is within what shape we needed. By the way, the cake is a liver organ cake for my friends birthday (see photo).

Initially, I had a set date for the cake and then the party was cancelled two days before. I called the shop and was told they didn’t start decorating yet so they could freeze the cake and take it out within the next week for an alternative celebration date. I said great, and switched my day to Thursday, exactly a week later. After planning with friends to have the small birthday party on Thursday, they all had things come up and notified me Wednesday morning (the day before I’m supposed to pick up the cake). They asked if we can do the celebration Wednesday instead, but what they didn’t realize is that I ordered a custom cake and I can’t just snap my fingers and have a cake pop up in front of me.
I went ahead and called the shop and asked if there was anyway I could just pick it up that day (Wednesday) in the evening. After a couple phone calls here and there, Meilio (the owner) got a hold of Jessica and they said that it could be done. I couldn’t believe they said yes, especially since I’ve been such a pain switching dates, but if there’s outstanding customer service, this is the place that offers it.
I went in around 8:30pm Wednesday, well after the shop closed and Jessica greeted me and showed me the cake, I was jumping in joy around the shop. I could NOT believe how amazing the cake looked, it was very alive. The skill this woman has is unbelievable. The pictures I showed her of what I wanted are an embarrassment compared to what she delivered in the end.
I showed up to the birthday dinner with a cake in hand once it was time to reveal the masterpiece, everyone gathered around in disbelief over how amazing the cake was. My friend wouldn’t even cut the cake and let us try it, he hogged it and said he wants to keep it forever. I am still asking for a slice of cake, we will see if I ever get that.
Nonetheless, all of my friends loved it so much that they are looking forward to their upcoming occasions just so they can order their cakes from here! The service here is just unbelievable, thank you so much for everything and working with me!

Wanted a special cake for a going away party for our daughter and son-​in law moving to London for 2 years. Owner worked with me and made a fabulous Limoncello cake that everyone loved and how it was decorated!!! would definitely order another one!

This place went downhill. Got cupcakes for a birthday and they were dry, stale and just didn’t taste good. They looked very nice. We have used this bakery for years, even a wedding cake. This is a new owner now, and it unfortunately shows.

We tried this bakery because we were having problems with our regular places putting the Indians logo on a cake. We were extremely impressed. Our cake was absolutely perfect! The icing was the right sweetness, cake was very moist and light. We ordered tge butter cream icing and it was excellent. We shared this cake with about 40 people and everyone wanted to know where it came from. Next time we will take some of your business cards with us.
We usually order from Sams or Giant Eagle, but this cake was better tasting, better decorated and competitevely priced. We will order our cakes from here in the future. Thanks!

I used them for a last minute custom cake for a grad party. They were super easy to work with and provided a great looking cake that tasted great-​not easy when using fondant. They seem to have a color printer that lays images on an edible paper that attaches to the fondant so they can be really creative. The cake was the hit of the party!

This is one of the best bakeries with regard to birthday cakes. If you’re looking for something better than the now-​ubiquitous Costco or Giant Eagle birthday cakes, this is the best bet on the west side. Their frosting is excellent (and good frosting is something that seems to be an issue around these parts) and the cake is very good too. Just a wee bit better than Elmwood (also in Lakewood).

I was given the honor of designing my daughters wedding cake. I wanted her to have a beautiful amazing cake. My first scheduled appointment with the wedding cake maker was 2 minutes of following her around the kitchen while she decorated other cakes. I scheduled a sit down meeting with her again. I wrote down every instruction specifically and she even had some great suggestions. She told me it would be amazing. The day of the wedding I got to the hall early. I saw the wedding cake and started crying. It was not decorated. NOT AT ALL! Not one flower, nothing. It should have been covered in standing flowers and bitterflies. It had drawings of flowers in a child like script. Nothing else. It was not at all what I ordered. It looked like I bought it at WALMART. No, Walmart could have made a nicer cake. I was so embarrassed. Later my daughter admitted to me she was really disappointed. You can not re-​do the wedding day. I DO NOT RECOMMEND CREATE A CAKE. They broke my heart. That was my special gift to my daughter and I paid $ 422.00 to Create A Cake and they gave me a undecorated cake. Not one flower anywhere. Can you imagine. I am going to sue them if they do not return my money in full. I WILL NEVER BUY ANYTHING FROM CREATE A CAKE. They took my money and promised me a beautifully decorated wedding cake and delivered to me an iced undecorated cake.

We needed goodies for a booth that we were running at a convention. Create a Cake make wonderful tasting cookies with the organizations logo on them. The cookies were delivered by UPS with no broken cookies and in plenty of time.
I plan to use them again this season for goodie baskets for my clients.

This is kind of hard to sum up as either 3 or 4 stars. A true rating would be 3 ½ stars for me.
Basically, it’s an old-​school, overpriced specialty bakery where you can design your own cake. Personally, I had had plans to go to Costco and get Lorelei’s name on a cake there for 30 bucks. But nooooo, someone (cough — Derek — cough) insisted we get a special cake for the 1^st birthday. So he made a call and spoke to someone who was very nice. He emailed her pictures of what he wanted (well actually, what we really wanted was a cake that looked like a Care Bear, but they won’t do that for copyright reasons). Then I walked in, we had a ten-​minute consultation, I bought a little Care Bear «kit» with three tiny figurines on it for 8 bucks, and I almost dropped the baby when I heard that this half-​sheet cake would be costing me slightly more than a Benjamin. WUT?!
But I couldn’t back down. This is my problem. I promise, next year it won’t be like this! Anyway, the good news was that the cake (banana cake with regular flavored buttercream) was delicious. They made this cool rainbow out of fondant and stuck it in the back, and had the Care Bears on clouds made of piping … but that’s about as far as they went with decorations. It was sort of disappointing. But another good thing is that they included a «smash cake» for Lorelei (probably unnecessary, but whatever) for free. So that’s good.
Bottom line: I’ve been eating this cake for a week with no complaints on the flavor, texture, etc. It looked pretty and everyone was impressed. But it was not worth what we paid at all.
Oh, I forgot to mention … they gave us the wrong cake at first! When my uncle opened it, he said, «Uh … ‘Happy Birthday Marley?!’» Good thing we hadn’t left the store yet!
