Elevate At Red Rocks

Don’t live here. I live here and it is over priced. The neighbors are rude I’ve had many times where people just hit my car and no note or anything. My insurance has skyrocketed. There are many car break ins and car thefts. I’ve already had both. Only lived here for almost a year. I thought this was a good neighborhood but it’s not. Lock your doors just stay away from here. The security sucks.

Do NOT mail packages. I am missing 2 large boxes that were sent to apartment complex and signed by employees. My son was told it just went missing from the back room?

We lived here, in the older side for a year. 3 months after moving in, our apartment flooded from the inside wall. They had to completely gut the walls and air out and replace it. The manager wanted us to live in the apartment while they completed the work (with 2 children under 4). Thankfully, the construction manager agreed with us that that would be completely unsafe and forced the apartments to move us. We were not compensated for having to move or for any of our damaged belongings. We were not alone. Once they moved us, we learned that the building we were in was infested with mice. At one point, we needed to fluorescent light bulb in the kitchen replaced and a TON of mouse droppings fell out of the ceiling when the maintenance man removed the fixture. He asked for our broom and cleaned up some of it, then promptly left and didn’t finish the second maintenance item we had requested for. When we went to the management, they told us we needed pictures… which we obviously didn’t have because our primary goal was to get that crap out of our apartment away from our kids. We later learned that every other tenant in our building had complained about the mice as well. They posted that they were going to do an inspection one afternoon, while most of the tenants were working, Otherwise, sound is HORRIBLE. I could hear every word of my upstairs neighbors conversations, and you could tell they were speaking at normal volumes. My children couldn’t walk in the grass, much less play in it as there was always dog poop literally EVERYWHERE. I would absolutely NOT recommend for anyone to move in here. They are slumlords who excuse serious concerns and find cheap ways to temporarily «fix» the things they are obligated to acknowledge.

I lived at Red Rocks for 11 months. I just moved out a few days ago. I would have stayed longer but Red Rocks plays games. It’s probably a Denver thing as the market is ridiculous right now, but they have no loyalty to tenants whatsoever. Most places give you the option of a 12 month lease but not Red Rocks.
When you look there they tell you the prices fluctuate daily depending on the market. They’re not joking, and it’s because they’re corporate greedholes that try to get the most out of you they can. That’s also why they won’t give you a year lease, they want to (AND WILL) jack up your rent every time you resign. And they don’t want to wait a year to screw you, so they make you sign 6 and 8 month leases.
The apartments are ok. They’re clean and spacious and have washer/​dryer connections which is nice. But the grounds are in horrendous shape. They have dog poop bags available, but NOBODY picks up after their dogs. I have 2 little dogs and they actually got worms from the feces all over the grass. I started walking them across the street to keep them from getting sick again. They have the dog waste trash cans and half the time they’re overflowing with poop bags and people are just tossing them on the ground cause there is no more room in the cans Then management does nothing but put stupid notices everywhere about how not picking up after your dog is a lease violation and you can be kicked out. Their last note actually said, «We’ve seen you not picking up after your dogs.» Uh, if you saw them, why are they still living here!!!
Then they charge pet rent. Essentially, it’s extortion, a way to get extra money out of people. What are my dogs getting for $ 70 a month? That’s $ 840 a year. Do you know how many years worth of poop bags that is? Ridiculous. And I have a 7 pound dog and a 9 pound dog with no teeth. Children are a hundred times more destructive than my dogs, do they charge a per child rent? Doubt it.
But the sad reality is, I would have stayed. The staff is friendly, the maintenance guys a friendly (though slow as molasses. It took a week to get a key made to my storage). The apartment wasn’t the worst I’ve ever lived in. I would have stayed, nobody likes to move, especially not me. But they jacked up my rent almost $ 200 a month and wanted an 8 month lease (So they can rape me again in 8 months, no thanks). I ended up finding a private condo for rent, that’s over 100 square feet larger, has more features (like a fireplace, washer /​dryer included, covered parking included, two porches, etc.) for $ 200 a month less, and no Pet Rent Extortion…
So if you don’t mind a bunch of drunk college kids, dog poop everywhere, and absolutely no loyalty to good tenants or any sort of financial security and stability, Red Rocks is the place.

Update– so around the end of December/​beginning of January, I went and spoke to the manager again and he said that he was in the process of evicting the neighbor. He said that he was working with the lawyers and the sheriff to get the noisy neighbor out of there. He then advised that I keep emailing him with weekly reports of any excessive noise. I did so until the end of January, and with each email, I asked for a response/​update back. He never responded. And then almost the entire month of February passed, and still no response came from the manager via phone, email or carrier pigeon.
I finally had it, since at this point I already called the police for the third time about the noise, and told the management that I was disappointed in the lack of follow-​through and communication. I then told them that I did half-​expect them to not do anything about it and that I was prepared to accept that. But then I was also going to write scathing reviews for Red Rocks on every single apartment website I could find.
The next day, they called my husband and tried to make excuses for their lack of action (saying that it was a she said– he said situation, which is ridiculous since I have 3 police reports verifying the excessive noise).
The manager finally then met in person with the noisy neighbor, and they «mutually agreed» that the neighbor should move within a week.
So for any prospective tenants out there, be warned. If you run into a similar situation, be prepared to be persistently on the management’s ass for several months.
My opinion of Red Rocks still hasn’t changed– the management acts very sweet and personable to reel you into a lease agreement, but after you sign, you’re low on their priority list.

I have lived here for fourteen months and would agree with previous reviewers in one respect only: the two & three bedroom unit buildings are family-​oriented. Like any other complex, this one has low-​rent housing for Section 8 residents who are not always the most considerate of neighbors. The maintenance staff has always responded to my non-​emergency requests in a reasonable timeframe and have usually resolved the issue on the first attempt. It’s true that mgmt. does not want to become involved in neighbor disputes but they do review the police blotter for incidents in the community and react accordingly.

Wow, I actually have to agree with J.K. This place is a sh*thole. You really get what you pay for. I agreed to pet-​sit for a friend and truly regret the last 4 days I have spent in Building H here.
The lawn is covered in dog sh*t that no one cleans up. It sits on the grass for days. I can hear the downstairs neighbors’ TV at all hours from the time I get here after work (6ish) until a little after midnight. The floor vibrates, thanks to their surround sound. I can also hear how healthy their relationship is. Evidently he doesn’t listen to her, which makes her yell. They have make-​up sex later in the day which makes her yell more. It’s really awesome that I hear all this.
There is a 24 hour workout center here, which is nice and I wanted to take advantage of. For some reason, none of the cardio equipment faces the TV. It faces to the side. WTF?
The toilet in the bathroom runs and runs. Not sure what’s going on there. The dryer doesn’t work. She’s put in a work order and nothing has happened.
I could go on about the screens that are warped, the patio door with a broken lock, the three broken stairs in the breezeway, the crappy concrete job outside resulting in crooked steps, the poor parking lot lighting (the light seems to turn on and off in 1 min intervals), the countertops that look like they’re from the 80s and have a ton of damage, the poor caulking job in the shower… I could go on and on. But mostly I just feel sorry for her (and her pets) having to live here.
It’s kind of a low income place — not even good enough for students. Don’t live here unless you’re poor and can’t afford anything better. Spring for $ 50 more a month, get less square footage, and have some decent stairs, lighting, and locks.

Wow, I can’t believe I’m the first to review; I’d have thought that as bad as this place is, others would be here by now. The staff is super nice, until you actually need something. From the hot water heater that overflowed, to the bathroom fans that didn’t work, this place slowly went downhill. Then, our refrigerator stopped working. Countless calls, office visits, and BBB threats went unnoticed and unheeded. We heard a myriad of excuses from «no one from maintenance is here», «we already fixed it», or my personal favorite, «that’s not our fridge, it’s yours!». Basically, we had to get the BBB involved, and they «comped» us a month’s rent, after we moved out. We could hear our neighbors screwing at all hours through the paper-​thin walls, and the dimly lit and poorly constructed stairwells offered very little in the way of any safety. PLEASE LOOK ELSEWHERE TO LIVE!
