Definitely if you’re anything bigger than a size 36 men do not visit the store. I understand smaller people need clothes but I like their clothes I like the look but when you walk in and you say do you have a 3840 and they look at you like something wrong with your face makes you feel unwelcome. The store was kind of messy and staff was just running around with their heads cut off. Definitely going to walk past this one in the future even if I was size 36 I would not come back.

I am a long time Express shopper and spend an obscene amount of money at Express both online and in store. The clothes are well constructed. They have fits that are comfortable for me and that is what keeps me purchasing from this retailer. I travel for a living, I find myself in many different Express locations. After all these years, I have been able to understand the sale structure, the timing of the sales and inventory changes. It is definitely something that helps decide when to purchase and item, when to wait and when not to. I also utilize the inventory tool on the website. Especially, when there are items I am interested in that are in store-only. I am aware of the higher traffic stores having more inventory for mens apparel. Some Express locations are not as convenient to get to. In cities like Los Angeles they seem to be more spread out. The inventory tool allows me to get a list of stores closest by that have the specific item I need. I some instances the tool will state«Limited Inventory» When this occurs I always call to confirm the item is there and place it on a 24 hour hold so I can pic it up without issue. I have spent a good portion of my day off in cities like Phoenix. By going to each Express in town in an attempt to track down a specific item. I am glad that this tool is available to me presently. I know a lot of the associates in many of the locations I frequent and I enjoy our interactions. This location has been no different in terms of associates when I walk in to the store. When I call it is much different. I am given a lecture onto how the online tool works, although I always lead with the fact that it told me the inventory was limited so I was calling to check if it was there. Secondly, I am met with an attitude that is clearly conveyed through the phone that I am wasting the persons time. Placed on hold for 10 minutes. Most recently, they have held the item for a an hour and forty five minutes. They would not hold it beyond that. I asked and was refused. So I contacted another location that was twice as far away. They found the item, assisted me politely and held it for the standard time I have come to know as policy at Express.(24 hrs) I picked it up after work 3 hours later. I understand that it is a busy season for retail. This behavior stems back prior to this holiday season. I also understand that life is not neat and we have bad days. This behavior is consistent and this is why I am writing this. This place needs audited. A secret shopper needs to look at the employees at this location to ensure that the first point of contact for their business is not a liability to the customer experience.

place is trendy type. lots of people shopping. clothes at a medium price. only thing there was a very long slow line. one reg only. You would think wen there is a line you wanna get that money before you give a guest a idea of leaving and loosing out on a big commission sale.

Now I like that the employees try to be helpful but sometimes I just wanna shop in peace. Every time I turned a corner or picked up an item to look at, someone was at my back asking if I wanted help. But you knew that when I needed a dressing room, there was no one to be found. This location had plenty of options in stock, which was good. I think the cashier helping me was new because she kept having to ask her manager about what to do. I had brought in some coupons I got in the mail, but as I figured, they could not be used with any of the deals being offered. Only full price items. Overall, I found what I needed, in the size that I needed, and got out before I even tried on anything else.

If you need to look cool as hell from head-to-toe, this store/franchise is it. I can only speak for the men’s section seeing as how I don’t cross-dress(unlike some teenage girl/boys I see nowadays) Sure their clothing is a bit on the pricey side, but if you need to look really good, in a pinch, this place comes through. I bought this bright fuscia shirt and added a pair of fuscia socks to finish off my ensemble. I know, this sounds dumb, but you literally feel a little better knowing that your socks match your shirt perfectly. It added a little more swagger to my step. If anyone happens to notice you have a great/weird conversation starter. I ended up giving fashion advice to 2 different men the night I pulled this off. Again, I would’ve preferred women talking to me about this, but beggars can’t be choosers. :P

Express is my absolute favorite clothing store. I buy all of my dress pants here. My favorite is the Editor Wide Waistband, it hides my tummy so well that I have in at least 6 colors. I also buy the regular editor pants and capris. I know they’re pricey but they have prettty decent sales where you buy one get one half off or sometimes certain colors go on clearance. I also love their jeans, tops, sweaters, trench coats, accessories oh my. 75% of my closet is Express. The Lakewood store is super cool because the employees are really nice(unlike Cerritos where everyone is stuck up) the girl even gave me a suggestion the other day. She recommended a beige top because she mentioned I was buying too much black clothes. It’s true so I listened to her and have received many compliments on that particular top. I love that store, especially when stuff is on sale. I shop there once every two weeks when I get paid and every now and then I splurge on more things than usual. Perfect store!

Saw the sale sign so I went in :). My daughter and I found the cutest sweater here last night on sale for $ 29.99 and a must have fall jacket for $ 108. Yinette opened the door for the dressing room for me and my daughter. She was wearing this really nice top, I asked if she can bring one to the dressing room for me to try. She’s so pleasant and joyful. She also helped us at check-out. Needles to say we went home happy with our purchases. See pics.
