Groomingdale’s

Me and my wife have a very long haired cat who needed a haircut desperately. Since he’s my wifes pride and joy I let her choose the place where we’d take him to get cut. She did research of places around Lakewood and decided on Groomingdales, so last Saturday we made an appointment for 10 Am on Saturday the following week. Well we arrived a little early, around 9:44 Am, and handed off our dear cat Bear off to the groomers. They told us that they would call us in a few hours.
A few hours to give a cat a hair cut? Thats a little ridiculous.
We waited until 12:45, 3 hours later to call and check in and they said that in about an hour and a half he’d be ready since they were very busy
Busy? Why in the heck would we make an appointment if we’d get treated like a walk-​in?
Isn’t that what making an appointment is for? To get seem at that time? So here’s our cat, who by the way has major anxiety, is sitting probably in a cage for three hours surrounded by barking dogs and getting scared out of his mine. They eventually got around to washing him and cleaning him up and suggested coming back another time for the actual hair cut.
At first glance this place seems like it knows whats going on, but I and my wife can both confidently say that we are unhappy with our business at Groomingdales. Id give no stars if I could. So if you have a cat, Id stay away. Dog Owners? Enter at your own risk.

I been going here for years now. After leaving the country for 3 years. Came back same onwer. Staffs are amazing an supper nice. Groom both of my dogs took 2 or 1 hour to wash an cut depends how big your dog could take longer due to hair styles.

I took my golden retriever to Groomingdales every time he needed a bath and clip (i moved out of state due to military). They have a nice clean facility, excellent prices and grooming packages for dogs of all shapes and sizes. I highly recommend!

Love this salon. There sense of urgency is wonderful, its all about making your fur baby beautiful. And me proud to say, when someone says where did you get your pup groomed they are gorgeous, I can reply at grooming dales in Lakewood wa. By Brittany she is awesome. The owner Deanna is a sweetheart too.

What a fantastic place! I was recommended to come here after we got stationed here since its all the rave here on post, Anyways with the moving process and time my little Shih Tzu was WAY over due for grooming, I was preparing for the worst with her having to be shaved naked. When I got there the groomers were very polite and understanding, I didn’t feel judged at all by how my dog looked, they went over the process of de-​matting and the benefits of using a conditioner to help with some of the tangles. I was very please to know there was a way to get my puppy back to her fluffy self without starting over! The fact that they took the time to explain the best thing for my dog shows they aren’t just looking for the easy way out. They will work to make the client happy. My puppy even got cute little bows in her ears and it’s a shame that Don P had such a horrific experience at such a lovely and clean salon. I encourage others to give Groomingdale’s a try!

We love taking the puppies here. We take our maltese shih tzu mix puppy here all the time to get his haircut. Sometimes we can be late on his cut, so he goes in with little knots, and they always do great taking care of it instead of shaving him all over like another grooming place has done.
Also, we take in two of our chihuahuas to get their nails clipped. They can be very aggressive and difficult to handle, but they do a great job. Definitely will be returning again and again.

Three Strikes and you are out!
The first few times I brought my Shih Tzu here were OK. Not perfect but acceptable.
They are just a no frills groomer, no ribbons, nothing fancy, just the basic hair cut.
Next I bring my poor dog in with instructions to give her a puppy cut, and get her back SHAVED! This is not what I asked for. The owner’s excuse was that she had mats in her hair. Well ok, why couldn’t you brush out the mats? I can do it why can’t you? That is just pure laziness on the part of the groomer. I would be happy to pay a little extra if they have to brush the dog hair before styling, but VERY UNHAPPY if I get her back shaved. Would they do that to a human? Hell no.
The last straw came today. I called last week to make an appointment. No appointments available. So I called yesterday. The voice mail says to go to their website and make an appointment. So I did, even having to sign up on their site to do it. The website gave me a 3:30 appointment. Fine.
Then the day of the appointment I called to confirm after not hearing anything from them all day. «Oh, we cancelled your appointment» WITHOUT TELLING ME! No calls, no emails, nothing.
I am done with this place. NOT RECOMMENDED.

I love this place, most of all my fur babies love this place! Friendly, clean, helpful, caring. My babies love it here, where most grooming places they scream at me to come back and get them. Great place, fantastic prices! I recommend this place to everyone who has a fur baby, a family member that cannot speak for themselves, their tale wagging will be enough!

Made an appointment for my dog with Her Groomer for 8 am. This is the first time since my dogs groomer started working here. I get there this morning at 8 and was told that the groomer did not start until 9 am so I asked what am I doing here at 8 and was told «I don’t know». So off to find a new place I do not like my time wasted and they did not seem to care. I guess they must be as big as Comcast same customer disrespect.

Family owned grooming location. Super nice group of ladies, treated or dog Titus and myself with lots of love and respect. Titus was happy, clean and sheaded our wonderfully. Super happy with their service. I only gave them 4 stars based on the price. Honestly, I had some sticker shock. Love the business but not their price.

Have taken my dog here multiple times. Always get excellent service and my dog looks beautiful every time. Will be returning.
