We came in for a special occasion and should have allowed more time to linger over a spectacular meal. I had the glazed porkchop which was wonderful. Good variety of items on the menu, but not overwhelming. We’re thinking we’ll come back sometime and just have appetizers. The asparagus could have been better trimmed. The ends were a bit woody. Definitely worth trying again.

I think this place has potential but we were disappointed. The prices were too high for the quality of the food and the atmosphere. Nice backyard patio but you can’t drink alcohol on the back patio. Serving staff was nice and I wish The restaurant luck, but I don’t see us coming back to this restaurant again.

Came here for breakfast with a friend. We got seated right away and the server was really attentive and made sure to take care of us. They’re on the pricier side. I had one of their breakfast platters and it was«alright», nothing special, not worth how much I paid for, in my opinion.

We tried Humblebrag’s on a lark after hearing someone else enjoyed it, I can say it was a fantastic experience. The staff was courteous and kept on top of our coffee refills. The calamari was some of the best I have had and so was the side of spinach. It is pretty fancy fare and the prices are fair for the quality. The space is on the small side so I could see them having a long wait during peak hours but at 6:20pm on a Friday we had no trouble getting a table. When we left a few folks were waiting to be seated. All in all I’d highly recommend this place and I really hope it never changes because it’s perfect just the way it is. :)

Solid little eatery in the village of restaurants that houses«I Luv Sushi» and«Sam’s World Famous Steak Sandwiches». I believe this place has changed hands a few times as I recall different restaurants here. We tried the clams, the burger, and the trout Mediterranean style with prosciutto Mac n cheese. All of it was well put together and flavorful. Would recommend a different type of bun to the burger as it was a lot of bread(potato bun perhaps?) and I also feel the brioche bun is a bit dryer and overused too. The burger itself was cooked perfectly, medium rare. Decent beer selection and friendly staff. Would definitely go again.

Fantastic food, but definitely on the expensive side. I only see us coming here to mix up our dining routine maybe once or twice a year. Flavorful, rich bruschetta linguine. Tender prime rib. Yummy macaroni and cheese with bread crumb topping. Some reviews have compared Humblebrags to Bake N Broil. Besides being cheaper, BnB is home to a basic kind of familiar and good quality diner food. Humblebrags is elevated diner food. BnB’s major edge, however, is their pies. No pie on the Humblebrags dessert list — really want to try their crème brûlée someday though.

Great food, atmosphere and service for the price. We almost passed this place over because of some of the other reviews: (1) There are plenty of tables/booths inside. There is no «communal table,» just a large booth. We were given the option of being seated at the large table — with the caveat that they might seat another group at the other end of the booth — or waiting a couple of minutes for a table. The wait was short(under five minutes) when we arrived, though business picked up later. They could take away some of the waiting area and add some two-tops(assuming it complies with occupancy limits). But again, there is no «communal table.» (2) The food was very good. It is not worse than«Bake & Broil,» or «Blackbird» — just different fare. I love B&B but might just as well choose Humblebrags depending on my mood regardless of the line. The one downside(and aside from Berlin I can’t think of a place that does it right) is the coffee. It is the same weak bitter diner-ish coffee that all the places from Bake & Broil to Fuego serve. I have all but given up on getting a good cup of coffee with brunch outside of Philly or New York … If they changed that this would be my new #1 brunch place.(hint hint guys). ;-)

More Humble less Brag. Went there today on recommendation from a friend. Wife and I got the chicken sandwich. Chicken tasted like it was frozen fillets. No flavor and rubbery. Brought it home for my cats to eat and it’s still there 6hrs later. Positives: wait staff was very attentive, décor is very cool, beer and wine selection is decent, portion size is large and price is right. Let me know when you step away from frozen food and I will return and amend my review.

It’s nice to have a simple easy gastro pub or burger bar in this part of long beach. The food is always fresh and tasty This is my second time here and the star both times were sandwiches. I had a steak sandwich and my friends had a chicken sandwich. Both time the bread was light and fluffy… It reminded me of the bread from New Orleans that they use for po boy sandwiches. High yeast, light crust, flakey and light. The protein was not over cooked. Tender and juicy. I also had the god father. I was. A little disappointed. It used to be a meatball pie, with red sauces and a baked top as you see in the picture. It’s now just spaghetti and meatballs. It was just average. I hope someone reads the review and they bring back the original god father The service was good both times and the place is clean with a cool vibe. If you sit outside, it’s kinda loud with the traffic.

Not all that. Ordered a burger medium and it came a half hour later bloody and cold in the middle. Not impressed.

The presentation of my food was great. The ambiance was clean, comfortable, and sleek. However, my food was a little bland. The reason I went to this eatery is due to fact that Sunrise Café had a long waiting list. I would come here, again. ONLY if Heritage Café in Lakewood or BlackBird Café or Bake and Broil in Long Beach have a 20 minute or more waiting list.

Really a 3.5, service is the real winner here… food can me hit/miss. Been here a few more times and just disappointed. See that steak and eggs? Order steak medium, eggs over hard… steak came out almost well done and although the photo doesn’t show it, eggs were not over hard(more like medium). Don’t know what the market price is for hash browns, but you could have ordered two hash browns from Jack in the Box and have the same amount here. Another visit… steak sandwich, again… steak medium. Came out a light medium rare, some of the pieces were probably rare. If they’re busy, it will take a while. Also somewhat infuriating to have someone come ten minutes after you and get a salad/sandwich before you get your order. I’ve been here for weekend brunch(avoid) or midweek in the mid-afternoon(probably the best time to come here if dining in). They also have a breakfast, lunch and dinner menu, so if you’re feeling like breakfast at 2pm on a Saturday, drive down Carson to Heritage(tell Chelsea I sent you). Also the other winner here is their Buffalo Burger and clam chowder.

We decided to visit this little place today. It is clean and set up like most of the smaller restaurants are now days. Now to the food. There was 6 of us, so we weren’t a huge party. The waitress came over and promptly and got coffee and waters for us. After looking over the menu, we were all set to order. Dad got eggs with bacon and b&g. Mom got pork chop and eggs. Baby got pancakes and eggs. Brother got chicken fried steak. Son got the breakfast burrito. I got eggs and sausage with b&g. Food comes out, looks good. Everyone is initially happy. Dads food is good. Mom’s good is good, but they forgot the toast. Babys pancakes are excellent. Sons burrito is really good. Worth coming back for. My breakfast is good… I am picky about my eggs. I don’t like the way they do their scrambled eggs. Brothers plate, chicken fried steak, raw. Now we are not talking a little pink, but RAW. This is the kind of thing that happens when you buy frozen food and don’t cook from scratch. We bring it to the servers attention and they promptly take it back and offer him something else. They took it off the bill too. So, besides that mistake it was OK. Prices were good. Service was good. The bus boy was on it. Our water and coffee were always full. He was really the highlight of the whole experience. It means a lot to me when you get great service just for the sake of doing your job. OK, for my b&g fans. If you like a slightly sweet b&g, this is for you. The gravy was good but the biscuits were on point. A little dense to hold up to the gravy but still soft and moist. Would I come back just for them, probably not, but that is just me. On a side note, the burgers look fantastic. Might have to give them a try one day. I would have given a 1 star due to raw meat, but the service got them an extra 2. If the meat wasn’t raw, a solid 4.

First time today, got Bison burger medium cooked w/grilled onions, chipotle aioli on the side(my request), and fries, 14 bucks. Pretty good! I like a more salty taste, but it was still pretty good. Fills 2 people easy. I shared half my burger with a friend and felt full. Service is good, we had a nice patient waitress. And other employees had a good sense of humor and are friendly, made a few jokes with us. Only downside, I went in craving breakfast but didnt make it on time :/Nice experience nonetheless. :)

This is the new hidden gem in Long Beach/Lakewood. Right across the street from the Lakewood Country Club in the backwards strip of restaurants where nothing has survived except I Luv Sushi, Humblebraggs is definitely earned a spot for the long haul. We’ve been here multiple times for lunch and dinner and have yet to be disappointed. Their meat is amazing, from burgers to meatloaf to the ribeye, I don’t know what kind of magic they’re working into it but we can’t get enough. I’m usually a creature of habit and get in a rut of ordering the same thing over and over but I haven’t had the same thing here twice, and if I had to make that choice I don’t know what it would be! The humbleburger or ribeye? Shrimp bruschetta linguini? Nothing disappoints. The service is always outstanding, the servers and owners are always welcoming and friendly.

I enjoyed many things about Humblebrags. The waitress was very friendly when she greeted us, the décor was vintage and awesome, the restaurant(and bathrooms) were so clean, and the food was good. We went there for a quick brunch. I will definitely go back again if I’m ever in the area. I highly recommend it.

Great place to eat in this small shopping center. I’m in this area many times for business meetings so it’s always great to find a nice joint to eat at in Lakewood. The hamburgers are huge and the bread they use here is awesome. Service is always great, and there’s even an outdoor patio area too. Onion rings are awesome here :)

Was really hoping to love this place. I live up the street and I love new restaurants opening up in the neighborhood. We ordered their grilled chicken sandwhich and Cobb salad for lunch. We were greeted and sat right away. We waited about 20 minutes for our food. Initially, the food looked great! The sandwhich and salad portion could’ve easily been good for two. That part’s definitely a plus. The Cobb salad was pretty good and filled with fresh ingredients. Having not eaten all day, it actually filled me up. The sandwhich was a total let down though :/. Had a couple bites and couldn’t eat anymore. It was gross. The bread was super dry and the grilled chicken was just as dry and had no flavor. Having a bite of the sandwhich was like having a mouthful of cardboard in your mouth. Three stars because. there are so many other places to eat and I’d rather go elsewhere.

I came to Humblebrags Eatery for breakfast by myself the other day because of the many 5 star reviews for it. I was excited to see what the all the buzz was about. I was a bit underwhelmed by the presence of my order. I ordered the Combo Plate(#11), two eggs any style, 2 sausage links and choice of pancakes/french toast. The presentation of the food was very cafeteria-like and there was not a lot of food, considering the high price-point. There were only two small triangle pieces of french toast on the platter. I also ordered a side of potatoes($ 3), that were accompanied by a garnish and ketchup. In comparison, I have gotten the same french toast combo at The Nugget Grill And Pub at CSULB for almost half the price at a comparable quality. The service is friendly here and the food is edible here, but there are better breakfast joints in the Lakewood/Long Beach area that offer similar or better morning food at lower prices. I will find myself hesitant to come back here for breakfast anytime soon.
