I was looking forward to trying this place ever since I spotted it accidentally in a strip mall. I was disappointed. Many dishes were available, but I tried to adobo and beef steak. The woman behind the counter recommended these. Both were stewed with garlic and spices. Now, meat stewed with garlic sounds like a recipe for success, but they came out greasy and only moderately flavorful. I left with an upset stomach. If you eat here, try something besides the adobo and bee steak. And let me know if I should give them another try.

Always been coming here since I was little girl. I enjoy eating their food. All of their food taste very delicious. Once you enter you get welcome if it’s not busy. It gets very hot in this place. They should upgrade putting air conditioning. There is no public restroom.

A typical Filipino turo-turo restaurant(meaning point-point a la Panda Express), Kainan Sa Kanto is a hole in the wall serving up the usual culinary comfort food of the PI. After browsing the daily selections, I ordered a 2-item combo with lechon kawali & dinuguan Lechon kawali — Ginormous, thick chunks of fatty pork. Bring it on, baby! With the crispy skin, unctuous fat & tender meat, the lechon delivered. A healthy dip in Mang Tomas All Purpose sauce or vinegar with garlic & chili, and it’s on & cracking. Dinuguan — aka chocolate meat, a pork blood stew, I was disappointed that the usual tender cuts of the pig head weren’t used to make this. No ears, snout & other goodies for me to savor. Still, it wasn’t bad, but not the dinuguan I was hoping for. Other dishes available included sisig & whole tilapia. The sisig didn’t look very appetizing, which resulted in me not picking it for my combo. I had to ask for the complimentary soup with my order, which was sinigang made with pompano. Kainan Sa Kanto is a popular catering option from what I’ve heard from others. Minimal seating inside, with various bagged goods for sale on the left of the restaurant. The lady working the counter was friendly, making my to-go combo order quick & easy. A small parking lot shared with other businesses is available if you can find a spot within it. Kainan Sa Kanto offers decent Filipino food when you’re in the mood for fatty, salty, starchy gratification. Not one of my most favorite spots in the general area, Kainan Sa Kanto is a respectable option if you’re hungry & happen to be closeby. Recommend! NOMNOMNOMNOMNOMNOMNOMNOM

Hubby and I had them cater our Pacquiao/Mayweather fight party. They helped us pick out some items that appeal to everyone. A friend was making pancit, so we ordered lumpia, chicken skewers, beef with onions, and a pork dish(I’m not sure what it was called, but it was the hit of the party). We had to change our order a couple of times, and they accommodated everything. Super friendly staff, great food, and near my house. Food was delicious, friendly staff, and close to home. We’ll be back for sure.

I come here almost every lunch. I keep coming back cuz food is good and fresh. There is no wait too for the order. Everything is instant. You can order, eat and be out in less than 30 mins. Highly recommended in terms of flavor and price. Good job :0

This place is delicious! Good Filipino food, served in a fast food no nonsense way. Menu changes daily. Everything is always delicious, cooked authentically. Friendly owners. My non Filipino like it here as well.

This place is less than a mile from my home and I’ve ordered lumpia(egg rolls) on two separate occasions. They are always a huge hit with party guests, but I wish they had a chicken option instead of just pork. The Vegetarian egg rolls are very good, but they’re huge in comparison to the smaller pork egg rolls. I ordered way too many, not realizing they were the size of a mini burrito. I also ordered a half tray of pancit for a Super Bowl party. Pretty tasty, although it would be a little better if they used a variety of veggies and not just carrots and celery. Overall, great place to order for parties.

New Years Eve came so fast this year, last minute gathering and I had to put together a menu. All the Filipino restaurants or fooderies we’re fully booked. Kainan sa Kanto was open to taking my order, I was hesitant at first, not knowing if the food would be good. But like the saying goes, don’t judge a book by its cover. The bbq sticks, both pork and chicken were flavorful and not overly cooked like some placesm Pancit Palabok was very tasty too. Would come back, especially since it’s so close. Who would’ve known…

My coworkers and I love this place for a quick Filipino food fix. The employees are always friendly and the food is great. Nice to not have to drive all the way to Cerritos for some good Lechon and dinaguan.

Hole-in-the-wall strip mall eatery. Noisy & cramped seating. Food quality fair, but just«meh». Maybe I’m spoiled from eating Aunty/Uncle food, but this just didn’t not fulfill my missing the taste of Filipino food. Dinguguan was decent; meat good & fatty. Pork BBQ skewer decent, but not used to sweet marinade(not even CLOSE to my Uncle Ado’s). No Pancit in sight=WHAT!Asked the counter girl if she was going to cook up some=nope. Didn’t ask if there was lumpia; for me, no Pancit, no lumpia. Pricy for what I walked out with. Won’t return; gotta be something better or I’ll just have to beg my relatives for food(like when I was a little kid).

Can I get my Chicken BBQ sticks and Lumpia cater tray at Pacquiao prices?! Hell yah! I get that here. When ever we have a family gathering like Easter or whenever a Pacquiao fight is coming down, we cater for dinner. The BBQ sticks, you have a choice for either chicken or pork. They are tasty and marinated, when I do get both either the pork or chicken there so good I can’t even taste the difference, but I always chose the chicken for my health reasons Lol. Of course you can get the BBQ sticks individually cheap! because like I said Pacquiao prices! The Lumpias here are crispy and I can never forget that sweet and sour sauce that compliments it. We always get these on big trays and they are fun to eat! They sell a small amount of market stuff here too like snacks, canned goods, filipino sodas(I didn’t know Sarsi is a root beer drink) anyways we don’t come here for that. We come here for just party trays of good food, Pacquiao style brah!

Small mom and pop place trying to fill the missing Filipino food niche in Lakewood. Parking can be tough but is usually no problem. I had the sisig and tocino 2-item combo. The sisig was okay except that the cook was very heavy handed with the ginger. Too much for my tastes at least. The tocino was very tough. Maybe it was better when it was first cooked hours earlier but at 10am I had to use my teeth to tear it. Not much available if you have a Filipino food sweet tooth.

So this place may have done well with their food and service when it comes to catering orders but I have gone here on 2 different occasions, both around 2−3pm and they have the same limited selection of Filipino entrees but for some reason NOPANCIT… come on people!!! Pancit is what most people look for when you have a craving for Filipino food. It looks as though they make 1 batch when the place opens and when it runs out, they don’t make anymore. I didn’t ask the workers there behind the counter what the deal was, but seriously??? It’s not even dinnertime! Good for catering, not so good if you pop in when you are craving, of all things, pancit.

If you have a hankering for homestyle Filipino food, this little restaurant at the corner of Bellflower Blvd. and Del Amo is definitely worth checking out. Admittedly, they do have a somewhat limited selection, but the food is always hot and freshly cooked whenever I go. They have delicious chicken and pork adobo, fried bangus(milkfish) and barbecued chicken or pork on skewers. They have THEBEST barbecue skewers around, and sometimes I come here just for those. Their turon(banana fritters) are also quite tasty. They can prepare dishes for catering — advance notice is ALWAYS appreciated. This place also has a limited supply of Filipino bread products like pan de sal and pan de coco. This is a small place with limited seating(I usually take my order to go) and limited parking in the front, although there are additional parking spaces behind the building. Cash only for orders under $ 10. Oh, and the people working here are friendly as well. :-)

I always get filipino food from this place whenever i get food for my co workers or any family gathering. They have the best bbq ever and pancit. I always place my order late and they always have it ready in like 2 hrs and the food taste just perfect.

I love this place because, although I don’t know their names, the people behind the counter recognize me as a regular even if I don’t come in very often(I try to stop by at least once a month). I’m the one who always orders jeprox & rice but double the jeprox, soda & turon. I enjoy their jeprox, but sometimes it’s really way too salty. They said it has something to do with the certain batch they fry up. I wish they still sold leche flan, but I guess the outside company who supplied it no longer stops by. Those flans were delicious! I also love this place because it’s nearby & I can get home cooking when I’m too tired to cook. Everyone there is super friendly, too. They accept credit cards for orders totaling more than $ 10.
