I have been coming to Dr. Vasa’s office for about five visits over a few months and find their service to be excellent. The front desk staff is polite and welcoming.
I am 100% cavity fee because of their help. They are also helping with my teeth clenching and grinding. The prices are reasonable and the quality of service is more than I expected. I feel more confident smiling and gladly will refer them to anyone who asks me for a high quality dental experience.

Don’t let the outside fool you! I Had such a great experience coming to this office. Everyone is friendly and everything is very clean ! I have recommended many of my friends and family to this dental office and they have been very pleased as well. Never thought I’d actually like going to my dental appointments but Dr. Vasa and his staff are excellent at making you feel comfortable. They meet all my needs and are very upfront about prices and procedures! Id say they really know their stuff! Also good to know that you won’t go bankrupt trying to get a perfect smile (: they’re are very competitive with other offices in the area. I have known Dr Jiten Vasa for many years. He’s been the only dentist that I’ve ever felt comfortable with. Now that his son, Dr AJ Vasa, has joined the practice, its twice as great!
The staff is very kind & welcoming and makes for an overall pleasant experience. Everything is always discussed up front. There are never any surprise charges after a procedure is completed.
The Doctors Vasa are very thorough at explaining every step of any procedure. They make you feel comfortable and at ease. I can honestly say I don’t mind coming to see the Dentist. I never thought I would say that out loud, I’ve always been a big chicken!

My family has ignored our dental health for more than a decade (horrible, I know), and when the inevitable tooth problems arose, we were woefully unprepared and uninsured.
Fortunately, BOTH Dr. Vasas and their staff were extremely helpful, understanding, and not judgemental at all. I brought my mother here once for a root canal and once for some gum pain and both times, the dentists here answered all her questions, offered her multiple options and, most importantly, fixed whatever was bothering her. My mother is a bargain shopper who price compares for EVERYTHING, but not only being affordable, the quality was top notch; my mother was extremely happy with the results and the price. She especially appreciated that the younger Dr. Vasa took extra time to answer ALL of her questions despite the fact he could have easily dismissed her to get to another patient. That level of personalized care alone deserves praise!
As someone who accompanies his loved ones to every kind of medical or dental appointment, I appreciated the magazine selection, the television in the waiting room, the hand sanitizer, and the staff’s perpetual good-​nature despite frightened children and in-​pain adults they deal with constantly. I do wish the drinking water station was in the waiting room itself, but that’s just niggling about preferences– it wasn’t an issue to walk the two feet inside to get a cup.
I know when my own bad dental habits come back to bite me (puns!), I’ll be here over any other in Southern California.

I’ve been a patient of Dr Vasa for over 30 years. Despite the fact that I live quite far away and I’m sure there are other qualified dentists in my area, I refuse to choose a new dentist. The experience I’ve had with Dr. Vasa is second to none. He is very caring, as is his team, of me as a person, and then as a patient. He is always upfront about his pricing, timing, and not to mention is excellent at what he does. Most importantly, I can affirmatively say that I have never felt much if any pain through all the different procedures I have had with Dr. Vasa over the years. He has an amazing hand, as does his son, who is also a key dentist in the practice. I highly recommend Dr. Vasa has practice to anyone looking for a warm, family oriented, long-​term dentist.

I haven’t been to a dentist in at least 8 years (I know so bad) I found this place here on Unilocal,I must say I love it! I was seen on time both times I’ve been so far (I’ll be going for more fillings wah) which is awesome. They cut some prices for me due to me getting laid off and my insurance expiring soon which I am so thankful for, it’s good to know they’re not all about digging in your pockets. These are some good guys!

My dad is diabetic so we have to be careful about dentists. We had 2 appts. I told them each time to be extra careful not to cut him because he is on warfarin as well. The first time the main dr cut his tongue. We had to wait for a month for it to heal, the second dr was extremely rough trying to get done quickly. Before they would do any services the dr told us the costs to see if we could afford it. Really??? So rude. My dad has 2 more procedures to do we are going elsewhere. No privacy whatsoever, people crying in their dental chairs, drs discussing financial matters for all to hear. Do not go there.

So far so good. I’m a big baby when it comes to dental work but they’re excellent. It helped that I have a dental discount plan plus my insurance so I don’t have much out of pocket.

I’ll start by disclosing that I’m a Surgical Tech of 25 years. I have always been scare in truest meaning of Denist all my life. Needless to say at my age I finally had to type care of my many issues. After a couple of bad experiences I searched Unilocal for the first time and read good reviews about the Doctors and staff.
My very first appointment I noted the professionalism of the front office staff and started a path to reassurance and confidence that they believed I’ve was in good hands. In good hand medically and financially. I was called back in a timely manner by very polite back office staff. Meeting the father and son team and knowing that my care would be consistent, not the rotating doctors that seem to be common since I moved to So. Cal. Dr. Vasa and younger Dr. Vasa evaluated the care that I would be needing and made a care plan on the basis of what was best for me. After many appointment and a lot of hard work performed with professionalism and patience by the entire staff, my dental health has not be better in 25 years. I wanted to write this reveiw to thank them because my verbal thank to me is not enough. Thank you Doctors and your staff for the awesome care that I received over many treatments, even though I seen with my own eyes the wonderful way you treat all of your very diverse patient population. I highly recommend this practice every chance I get.

I have been traumatized by previous dental services I have received! Consequently, I avoided going to the dentist for many years. Luckily, I stumbled upon Lakewood Family Dentistry and scheduled an appointment for a filling today. My anxiety and fear of dentists went away thanks to Dr. Aj Vasa. I was seen in about 10 minutes and out within an hour.
I know that I was one of those annoying clients that asks way too many questions about the procedure and cost. If you’re like me, a nervous wreck, at the dentist you will really appreciate Dr. Vasa’s patience. I expressed how nervous I was about getting all numbed up and drilled on and he was so professional. Also, I was amazed at how quick and rather painless the shot was. I definitely plan on coming back!

I recently got a tooth removed. the doctors are knowledgeable and professional, and the staff was courteous. They saw me on short notice, on the same day, and I was in and out in about an hour.
My only thing is that this place is pretty expensive, even with some deals they offer. The worst part of the process was hearing how much everything was going to cost. My insurance covered an extraction, but not a root canal, so even though I wish I could’ve saved the tooth, I was in so much pain and my face was swelling, so I just had them yank it.
No complaints about the staff or the procedure. Dr. Vasa (the young one) did well to inform me of my options and seemed like he really cared.
If your insurance is great or you just have the money, then go ahead and get the work done. They’ll treat you just as good or better as any other dentist I’ve been to.

Unilocalers who reads my reviews knows that I usually don’t give 4 stars unless if it’s that great! And you also know that I don’t usually write a review unless it’s either great or horrible. This small and nice dental office is right across the street from the Long Beach Towne Center. The staffs and doctors were great! Dental area it’s in cubicles so it’s out in the open. So try not to cry! Lol!!! They have a digital X-​Ray which I thought was cool!!! No need to put that bulky and uncomfortable piece in your mouth anymore. It’s a small piece of soft rubber and not uncomfortable at all. And no more gagging!!! I had told Dr. Vasa Jr. that my gums takes a while to get numb and he was so nice about it and was very patient with me. He made my visit a great visit. I didn’t feel rushed at all and that’s the way I think that it should be everywhere else. When everything was done and ready to leave, Dr. Vasa gave me my prescription and explain to me what to do and not do. He even showed me how to put the gauze in. I was so, so nervous and the doctors and staffs were just awesome!!! Thank you everyone!!! This will be my place to come!!!

I really do not like writing bad reviews, but I truly believe that these dentist are out to get as much money out of you if you don’t have insurance. I would avoid this place if you can!

I went to this dentist because it was the only one that was within my network of dentists on my insurance plan… it also was the only one that had any positive remarks. Let me say, do not go here. The people were fine, it was the place that was not. You could see fingerprints on the dental equipment… I was thinking while the dentist was looking in my mouth, if the equipment looks like this, what other areas would gross me out?! They took whole mouth xrays. The doctor, Dr. Vasa told me I had 4 or 6 cavities, needed a deep cleaning, some sealant, my gums were receding and something else, I cannot for the life of me remember… After adding it up, my portion would have been about $ 1500! They wouldn’t even do a regular cleaning, they wanted me to do a deep cleaning or nothing. I left and said I would call back to make an appointment. My kids got their teeth cleaned there as well. After seeing the equipment, I wasn’t going back, let alone having my kids go back there! Needless to say, I have seen a new dentist at Enhance Dental… he was great and fair and I would highly recommend him. When I received my x-​rays he told me there was no sign of any cavities or me needing a deep cleaning or anything! Does Dr. Vasa purposely do treatment that DOES NOT need to be done?! That is what I think. Anyhow, save yourself some time and DO NOT go here!!!

In response to Dr. Vasa’s comment. I am not exaggerating. I can remember 8 different injections. And I got there at 2. I was in the chair by 2:15. And I left there at about 10 minutes to 4. This is getting 3 stars to make the review neutral.

Found Lakewood Family through my insurance. I needed some work done and i was nervous! The first time I went I had my two sons with me and the receptionist brought out coloring books and crayons for them. Ana took my x-​rays and was very friendly she helped keep me calm. Dr. Vasa and Vasa Jr. were both very reassuring, they explained all my options and didn’t rush me. They were honest and didn’t try and push me into extra work like dentist that I’ve met at other offices. The doctors here are very gentle and patient. I would recommend them to all my friends and family! The office does look small but that’s what makes it nice because when you walk in they remember you!

Color me impressed! I needed to get a tooth removed and a bridge done and was referred to Dr. Vasa by a good friend who swore by him. After my experience, I don’t think ill be going anywhere else again. I was able to schedule an appointment on the day and time that i wanted.
When i arrived, i signed in and got some new patient paperwork. Within 5 – 10 minutes of giving the paperwork back, Dr. Vasa greeted me with a smile and showed me to my chair. On the first visit, he checked out my teeth and did some measurements for my bridge. The whole process was fairly quick, but never felt rushed. He even made sure i had an appointment for finalizing the bridge before i left.
On my second visit, he remembered who i was and had everything ready to go. He explained the process before we started and kept me posted on the progress. He was really polite and periodically stopped to make sure i was comfortable. I didn’t feel any pain throughout the process (other than the pressure of instruments against my teeth).
After we were done, he instructed me to be careful while the cement settles, and to progressively get to sticky/​chewy foods, and gave me some sample bridge floss to clean under the bridge. Within a week or so, i was back to eating and doing everything normally.
Now: My bite fits perfectly and there are no gaps on either side of the bridge. The color/​shine matches the teeth next to it and you cant even tell its there! I couldn’t be happier and i will definitely be going back for any future dental work i need.

Cons:
–I have had to wait about 20 minutes in the waiting room on a few occasions (it’s not much of a con, but waiting at any doctors office can be boring).
Overall:
I recommend this dentist to my family and friends; I will continue to get my dental care from this office.

Found Dr. Vasa through my Aetna dental plan and after reading the reviews on Unilocal decided to give him a go.
I was able to make an appointment the same day as I was having a toothache.
The website for Lakewood Family Dentistry is awesome in that you can complete the New Patient forms online and it’s automatically sent to them. This was very helpful to me as I could complete it at my lunch time and didn’t have to worry about it once I arrived at the appointment. Bonus Points for this convenience!
I arrived right at my appointment time and was in the chair within 5 minutes. Dr. Vasa explained everything to me fully and made sure I comprehended before he moved forward.
When he said he would make my root canal as painless as possible, he wasn’t kidding. Other than the normal tugging and lovely sound of a drill… I didn’t feel any pain at all (yay for Novocaine!)
He sent me home with a prescription for antibiotics and some Tylenol #3 to help with the pain, however, I woke up this morning and I feel perfectly fine.
Sooooo pleased with this office!

DDS Vasa is a very honest dentist. I had to get dental work done because of severe pain in my molars. I bought a dental plan under liberty dental to try and save some money, and was lucky that Lakewood family Dentistry was one of my network providers. I had to have my wisdom teeth extracted because they were completely decayed (rotten), and had the work done the same day of my initial visit. Now I’m slowly working on other cavities and plan to stay with this dentist for a long time. The office is small and simple, but if you need an affordable honest dentist, this is the place. I would suggest to buy a dhmo plan or better to save money on your co-​payment.
