Midas

I used to speak highly of Midas, than the last visit came issues. Their «courtesy check» is supposed to include a visual break inspection. I also told them I was was going on a road trip and want to make sure everything was good. I get my car back from an oil change and they mention no issues.
Now a month later I’m on my vacation and my brakes go entirely out. I take it into a brakes store and they show me I have ZERO brake pads left, the rotors had been grinding for who know how long, and my calipers were broken. They showed me the damage and there is no way they could have not seen this. Both myself and the manager at the brake place felt they were hiding this from me in order to get a full brake job out of me rather than just brake pads and caliper repairs. What could have cost me $ 200 ended up near $ 700! I’m glad I did NOT go to a Midas for the work! Not only did they make a vacation suck having to deal with that, they out my life at risk!
Now that’s not all, not only does this already deserve a zero star review, which u fortunately you cannot give, there is more!
So of course at this point I have decided to never go to Midas again. I decided where I wanted to go instead, and had some other work I needed done which I had some quotes from Midas that I was going to get done with the other company. The quotes Midas gave me were HUNDREDS more than what I ended up paying with a different company. And from what I can find I got better parts than Midas would use.
Now this fact doesn’t mean anything for a rating, aside from they are ripping people off and over charging. It’s what I discovered when I was looking at the old service records… Somehow all my oil changed had different prices??? Now I always used the same coupon, the same type of oil, and same location. Why were the charges different? We’re talking a $ 20 difference between the lowest and highest price. And no, they didn’t undercharge me on anything, most were too much.
Not sure how I didn’t catch it, you don’t remember what you paid 6 months ago. Maybe that’s partly my fault but that is very shady!
Midas has lost me as a customer and my family! There are tons of options for vehicle services, avoid Midas! You will save yourself thousands over the life of your car, and possibly save your own life!

Please never take your car here. These guys really made a mess of my engine, gasket maker everywhere grease in the car terrible service and prices.

I was on my way to work and stopped at the gas station across the street for coolant for my Durango. We saw that the coolant was spewing out the front. I’ve been to this Midas before with my Honda Accord and they took care of me then too. We took the Durango over to have it looked at. The guy walked outside as soon as we pulled up to greet us and find out what was happening. He told us right away that a pressure test needed to be done in order to find the leak. Unfortunately, we needed a new radiator and thermostat due to age and the cold weather we’ve had this weekend. The guy knew that we had run over in emergency and because I have a 5 year old, we needed a ride home. Another tech offered to drive us home while we wait for the work to be done. :) Very Helpful! We waited and received a call that the car was done. They then offered to pick us up in my own car so we can drive it to see how much BETTER it ran. The store’s system was down so what the guy quoted us on paper is what we paid! Also Very Helpful! Thanks Everyone, we will definitely be coming back!

AVOID! TERRIBLE RIP OFF PLACE!!! Sells cheap parts that have short warranties and fail… then charge you hundreds of dollars in additional labor.
I will never go back to this scammer outfit.

Today by brakes really tightened up while I was driving, so my going to this location was random. Having said that I could not be more pleased with my experience. I told them when I came in that because this problem came out of the blue, I didn’t have much cash on hand. They let me know exactly what needed to be done to make the car safe to drive again. They worked with me to keep the price low, taking almost 150 dollars off the full price.
That would mean nothing however if the service was no good, but my brakes are are in great condition now. Again, I could not be more pleased with my experience here and although I live 20 minutes away I will be making that trip next time something needs to be done.

I just had the best experience! I called Midas for a break repair. I was able to get in the shop quickly, and leave with a great price and even better financing. I really appreciated the above and beyond customer service. The technician showed and explained every thing he was working on. I was even allowed to bring my large dog inside the waiting area! I felt comfortable and highly satisfied with my experience. Thank you Midas!

Today, I stopped into Midas because my battery light came on. I walked into the store and the guy at the desk was talking on the phone, and he had a customer in front of me. When he got off the call, he tended to the customer, all the while completely ignoring me. Never a wave, or an «I’ll be right with you». Nothing. It was as if I was invisible. So, I walked out. I never gave this location a chance today. To me, it’s important to acknowledge every customer who walks in the door, regardless if you have a customer. I waited about 5 minutes, and ended up going down the street to Pep Boys and spending almost $ 200.

I’ve taken my car to Midas for the last few years and was up in the Lakewood area for a meeting and brought my vehicle in for an oil change and a brake check at this location. The staff was very helpful explaining the work to me and showing me the issues they found with my brakes. I had the work done and the brakes are working great, feels like new. Thanks Midas Team! I will be back

My co-​worker who does not have Unilocal,told me about her experience at this location and the story was so ridiculous I had to write a review.
She’s gone there a few times and we don’t make a lot of money where I work so I could understand when she said she could only afford to fix things that were actually broken on her car. At her last visit they recommended replacing the fuel pump which she decided against since the engine seemed to be running fine. Shortly after the visit her heater stopped working. She didn’t need the heater until recently and now that the weather is turning called in to schedule an appointment to have the heater looked at.
She was actually belittled by the employee who took the call and was told that they previously rec commend that she have her car fixed and she didn’t. She said she couldn’t afford it at the time and didn’t see how a fuel pump could affect the heater/​defrost working. He insisted that it was because she didn’t pay for every recommendation they made at a prior visit and told her she was fired as a customer.
So much for customer service!

Lied about services needed. I was told my tires were all «bald as racing slicks» at ²⁄₃₂ inch. I went to Go Green Tires and sold the tires, owner said they were all between ⁵⁄₃₂ and ⁶⁄₃₂ (which I confirmed with a tread-​depth gauge I bought).
The worst part is, these guys seemed cool and we chatted a while. Just proves not to use a mechanic unless you have reviews talking about HONESTY.
**Follow up** After placing a complaint on the midas website I did hear back from the owner direct. He did his best to make things right and even asked to inspect the old tires personally.

DO NOT GO HERE. I have been here twice I thought I would give them another try silly me. The first time they lost oall of the covers to my lug nuts and then replaced them which was nice. I thought things would be different the second time, sadly they were worse. The second time they lost the lug nut covers again come on really twice is it that hard to take them off keep them with the lug nuts? Then after putting new rotors and brakes on the car it squeaks and screeches at every stop not what I would call great work. Again do not go here.
