Moe’s Original Bar B Que

Seemingly large selection of sides, but even the corn bread is so so. Combo meat platter apparently comes with unadvertised toppings.
About the only positive is that when I complained I did get a fresh plate without weird sauce and cole slaw.

Don’t get me wrong; it’s pretty decent BBQ. I just wish the portions were a little bigger. The sandwich I got was almost 7 dollars and it was slider sized. I enjoyed it, but I left feeling a little unsatisfied.

This is my favorite BBQ spot. The fried catfish is excellent also! The service is extremely friendly and the environment is chill. We love everything about this place!!!

Horrible! I got brisket and cole slaw and will definitely give props to the cole slaw as it had a great combo of sweet and tang. Other than than that, I really hated this restaurant and will never return. The brisket was so dry that I ate only two bites. I tried dipping it in sauce, and unbelievably, the sauce was horrible, too! Many years ago I went on a BBQ sauce kick and used to make my own sauce. I will say that I never made a sauce as bad as this! Don’t most BBQ places have several sauces to choose from (sweet, mustard, spicey)? For this sauce to be their only/​signature sauce and be so bad as to be inedible, shame on you Moe’s!
Not to mention shockingly slow service. The place was not full, there seemed to be no orders ahead of me, and I ordered brisket and cole slaw. How long could that take? And playing LOUDLY overhead was noise (sorry, can’t call it music). It was like a 5 minute «song» of screeching or something. My husband wondered if someone was playing a saw?
All in all, «horrible» says it all.

This place is phenomenal!!! Great customer service, and even better food!
So we went in on a Friday night, and we placed order (A little bit of everything). About 10 minutes later the Chef came out and told us they were out of brisket, but unlike any other place I’ve been to he immediately offered a solution. He gave us wings, sausage, and some extra chicken.
We couldn’t have been happier! I have recommended all of my friends to Moe’s Original, and I will continue to as this is the best BBQ in Colorado.
That crappy hyped up place in the springs ain’t got nothing on Moe’s Original!!!

Loved my meal. Shrimp mo boy was great. Collard greens were good but a bit salty. And I loovvvvvvvved the fresh margarita! Thanks for making the whole fam happy!!!

I am always skeptical of barbecue joints that was a «chain». Moe’s blew that perception out of the water. I love their sauce and every meat I’ve tried is great. Even my kids like to go there. It’s closer than our 5 star choices so we’ll gladly frequent Moe’s instead of driving to Colorado Springs.

The best BBQ in Lakewood! I have never had southern food like this, the special sides are great if your tired of the typical beans and fries. The people are friendly, and they bring a real «hometown» environment.

I feel I owe this place a good review as it has been the home of my daughter’s first bite of solid, non-​pureed food (the delicious Mac ‘n Cheese side) and also a phone video of her eating/​slopping BBQ wings off the bone during our dine in experience. To sum it up, my family (including our 2-​year old) love this restaurant!
We often spend almost $ 50 as a family of 3 but leave with plenty of leftovers that are just as tasty the next day. With every entrée made on the smoker, you can’t go wrong with any of them. The BBQ wings are my favorite, but the smoked turkey, brisket and hot links are all delicious. I also like how specialty sides are rotated onto the menu, as we usually order mostly meat and one small side for variety. I have had the downtown location cater for work events in Downtown Denver as well; both Moe’s live up to the name of the best BBQ joints Denver has to offer!

Went last Tuesday night. Terribly dissapointed again. When I first started coming the ribs were perfect fall off the bone with a nice pink circle surrounding the meat. Smoked to perfection. The last three times I have come within the last two months the ribs were laden with grease and this last time just very substandard. To make matters worse, we sat outside because it was a nice day, for damn once. We knew people might smoke outside, but one of the workers was sitting outside with a cigar. To me that is just disrespectful to your patrons. I gave it three chances to get better since I simply loved it before. Won’t be back until I am convinced they are cooking the way they used to.

Always great service, and the food is great! I always enjoy going to see what special sides they have for the day. Yesterday I had the catfish sandwich with collard greens, mac and cheese, and gotta finish it off wit banana pudding.

The whole family loves Moe’s! Great food and friendly staff makes this place a must try. My wife and I even had our wedding reception on the patio at Moe’s and Mike the owner and his incredible staff took great care of us. Best BBQ in Colorado INMHO.

Every time my band is recording music in Denver I come to this particular Moes BBQ & I always walk out happy! I don’t know if it’s the good music or the great staff? Maybe it’s the rediculously good food!!! Probably all of the above. At any rate you can’t beat the happy hour from 2 to 6pm so I hit that up for lunch. The $ 1.25 ribs are fantastic (I think that’s only on Tuesday?) as is the super smokey wings, turkey, brisket & the chicken. I haven’t even gotten into the pulled pork yet. Soon enough I’m sure. The meat is moist and has exactly just enough of that smokey flavor you’re looking for. a lot! The brisket chili can’t be beat! so many good sides to choose from, also sides change daily so check or call ahead, and if you are not impressed… then let em know what’s up & they will get you what your looking for making sure you leave happy!

The food here is amazing my family loved it they said it was delicious. Pulled pork sandwiches were awesome the beans are indescribable. There’s tvs to watch sports. Comes in handy around play off times. Recomended place for shure

Big BBQ fan, and Moe’s NAILED IT. The meat was tender and delicious. Sauces were fantastic, and the sides even better!

The catfish sandwich is my favorite. An excellent sandwich that’s different than anything I’ve seen elsewhere. The ribs are also great, and the sweet tea is perfect. The pricing could be better but I love the friendly service and delicious food so it’s worth it to me.

The iced tea was good. The meat portions were very small and nothing special. The ribs were over cooked to the point of being mushy. But the iced tea was good.

The overall restaurant is very open and nice with a great smoke smell. It’s to bad the overly high prices and small portions don’t deliver. My sons ribs were tasty but lacked seasoning and my pulled pork was rather mushy and had little flavor. I don’t doubt moes has other good choices but my big concern was $ 30 for such an absurdly small amount of food that just wasn’t very good for the price. I probably would go back if I was around but not out of my way.

Family friendly. Great deals for kids. Excellent sweet tea. We always ride our bikes over and try to sit on the patio on nice days.

My husband and I are visiting from Phoenix, found Moes and decided to try. We both love true barbecue and these guys are ridiculously amazing!!! Their pulled pork and brisket are approved by my husband whose extremely critical of these dishes. The ribs are to die. And the friend shrimp is the best I’ve had anywhere other than off the coast. And all of their sides are delicious.
Everyone is extremely nice, helpful and want you to love what you’re getting. They do run out of ribs especially so get there earlier if possible. But they compensate running out big time.
THIS IS A MUST GO!!!
