Used to be great, but everything has changed! The help here truly hates their job or hates customers. Not a smile or pleasant attitude in the building. About a year ago the hamburger changed to wax like gristle, and the cheese doesn’t have any resemblance to real. The green chili is still good and the only thing I will PU and take home to make Mexican food myself! But the take out sucks, everytime I call my chili order in and get to pay I STILL have to wait? Guess they’ve been burned so many times that they only make your order after you pay. Not really that hard to be nice to customers, they pay your living!!! And by the way, I used to be a big Breakfast burrito buyer of Santiago’s at gas stations and such. The last ten really was horrible(never again), barely and chili and SMALL. They better change or they will be out of business!

Was 5 star until lately:(I was an every other day customer but that has tapered off and now am done with all Santiago’s locations(except maybe south Broadway, and that will be a long time from now, when I’m starving, and every other Mexican restaurant in town us closed). Surely they went to cost cutting class and now charge for tortillas? Mother taco must be rollin in her grave over this? Seriously why would there be a charge for corn rather than the gluteny wheat tortillas. Why would there be a charge for tortillas on the side of burrito bowl? Yes, a dollar won’t break me however, three to four trips a week at two or four burritos is enough to make a change. I’m truly disappointed and feel their small business rep is long gone. That said, don’t let this stop you from overpaying and waiting 20 minutes for a breakfast burrito.

I like Santiagos but what is irritating is that it takes forever to get a takeout order made before you arrive. I have been going to this Santiagos twice a week for the past couple of years for takeout. Most of the times, I get 2 breakfast burritos and 2 chips and salsa. Even when I get there 10 to 15 minutes later, my order isn’t ready yet. As a matter of fact, I think they put in the order only after I pay for it. What’s the purpose of calling it in then? This place is 2 blocks from my house but because I am on a time constraint, I now go to another Santiagos that is closer to my business that does make my order when I call it in. The minute I get to the farther santiagos, my order(like all restaurants) is ready for me. This particulars Santiagos system is terrible for takeout. The workers are nice but I lose too much time waiting. I hope that someday, they fix this problem.

Stopped in for a VERY late«breakfast» nearing the lunch hour, or perhaps it was the lunch hour because by the time we ordered(or tried to) breakfast burritos, they weren’t serving ‘em anymore!!! Boo. Well instead I just got a bean & carnitas burrito with half & half chili. It was ok. I was just flat out hungry. Ok, my friends would have told you that day I was very HANGRY but I don’t think I was that bad. It satisfied. And it was only $ 4 for me to eat. I guess I can’t complain. This was my 2nd Santiago’s burrito and I have to say I like the breakfast burritos better. We also had chips and salsa, and the salsa was actually reminiscent of marinara sauce and somehow still had quite a kick. It was interesting, but again I was quite famished. The service was meh. Nice, but extremely slow. Food seemed to take ages and the restaurant was only about ½ full.

I was excited to try one of their breakfast burritos, as I’d been told that Santiago’s has the best ones in Denver. I didn’t completely understand at first, but it appears there’s a meat of the day for all burritos. Today it was bacon. It was pretty decent overall. The flavors were right, and the salsa was tasty. I would have a photo, but it wasn’t very photogenic. I would have liked it better if it were made fresh, but I get the sense that they probably need to be pre-made to deal with the sheer volume of folks. Price-wise, it’s excellent. I got it to go, and the service was overall pretty quick and friendly. I’m told that the original Santiago’s is better and look forward to trying the breakfast burrito there.

I was going to give up on Santiagos all together until I tried this location. We moved off 6th avenue and gave this place a shot. The service is awesome and the food here for some reason is wayyyyyy better than any other Santiagos location. The portions OMG, huge! We love it here we come almost every weekend(yes thats hard on the waistline) we love it!

I would eat here every day if it weren’t closed on Sundays. The price is right, and the servers have always been friendly to me(bummer for all the reviewers who got the shaft). One note to Santiago’s across the board: it’s incredibly difficult to decide on half and half or hot green chili. I’ve had some half and half that induced tears and I’ve had some hot with which I didn’t even need a drink. My theory is the spiciness is dependent on where the ingredients were grown and the length of time that the chili cooks(said the suburban white girl). Regardless, it would be nice to have a taste test before committing to such a crucial decision.

Worst santiago’s location to go to for to go breakfast burritos on a weekend. Most of the other stores pre — make their burritos. Not here. You wait 20 minutes for them to make your order. The poor couple by me at a table eating in the restaurateur said they have been waiting an hour for their food and they are not even getting it to go. You would be better off driving to the Leetsdale location and getting it back to lakewood by the time you would get your order at this location. Same quality food just complete lack of management and thinking. If the other stores can figure it out, why can’t this one?

Gross, dirty, bad customer service. The food came out cold. Tables weren’t clean. The employees are always on their phones in the corner or behind the counter. Waitress did not acknowledge us once.

Two Words: Breakfast. Burrito. $ 2.00 for an awesomely stuffed burrito with eggs, potatoes, meat, and cheese. Fifty cents more gets you… Chiccharones! Right in the burrito! Slap a Sombrero on me and call me a Gringa, I LOVEMESOMECHICCHARONES. Long(LONG!) waits before the 10:30am Breakfast cutoff, but they WILL take your order over the phone. I’d recommend that. This location is closed on Sundays(Bummer.)

This place is just the best! My boyfriend and I try to go here as much as possible but now that we have moved far away it is getting hard but we still make the trip. Not only is the food great! The best, spiciest green chili, but there are always plenty of friendly people. The staff and the other patrons. It also gives you an excuse to go get ice cream later that night

TOUGH call! Somewhere between 2 and 3… I better justify as to why: Food: A click up from fast food or cafateria food for sure… but not great. The green chili was very good, and hot as hell, but most items were pretty simple. Service: Bare bones. Pretty quick and efficient, which is nice, but not too informative. I guess you don’t need to be at a very fancy version of Taco Bell. Don’t hate. I like Taco Bell compared to most fast food places. Price: MAJOR points. Two of us ate PLENTY for $ 14. This justifies the food overall quality. In a pinch or on a hangover I might return. For the breakfast burritos die hards… You may also check out Alameda Burrito…

Love love love those greasy foil-wrapped burritos! I always get Beef and Bean with HOT green chile on the inside. **WARNING** Santiago’s HOT Green Chile ISNOTFORTOURISTS= LOCALSONLY If you are new to the world of Santiago’s I STRONGLY suggest starting with«Half & Half» or get your chile on the side.

This used to be my favorite place to grab a breakfast burrito in the morning but after stopping in last week and getting what I thought was a very skimpy burrito with minimal chile and lots of tortilla, I’ve moved on… but not too far away. Go down the street and take a right on Alameda to Pierce. Stop in at Alameda Burrito — Hot, plump, lots of chili, melt in your mouth mushy potato goodness, friendly people — MUCH better and where I will be going from now on.

My fiancé brags about how he’s always having these delicious breakfast burritos at work, and I come to find out that they’re from Santiago’s. So, I finally made it here to get one of my own and I’m in love! I’m very picky about my breakfast burritos… no microwaved-texture eggs, they have to have the right chili to egg ratio… etc. Santiago’s are perfect. And, they’re only $ 2!!! Delightfully fluffy eggs with just the right amount of chili, potatoes and meat(your choice) and perfectly spicy(I got the half-and-half). My only qualm is that this location doesn’t open until 8, so I can’t hit it up before work. Will have to try for other meals.

Nothing stands out. Just mediocre Tex-Mex food. I prefer chicharrónes with some meat, not just just hard, crispy fat. They claim their«hot» green chile is picante. It is not. The service was friendly. The AC worked well.

I have been eating at this Santiago’s restaurant since it was located inside a converted house a few blocks south of its current location. The restaurant tends to get a bit busy during the peak hours, but the service has always been good and the food is some of the best around. They always keep your chips and salsa filled and I recommend the stuffed sopapilla with beans and chichrones! On the downside, the price point of the place has risen throughout the years and they close a bit early, even during the week. A good place to take out-of-towners to eat good Mexican food and they have many convenient locations across the whole metro area.

I’ve been in the Denver area now for over 6 months, and I believe this to be my second review(because I’ve only been to 2 places in 6 mos. – nahh). Don’t listen to the ‘meh’ sayers — -It’s been 5 – 6 hours since I’ve consumed the lip smackingness that is Santiagos and I’m STILL thinking about it! The brekdown: a bean and beef burrito, smothered in green chile, hot, and a side of chips and salsa. Price? A five spot. Verdict? Oh. My. God. The chile went in my mouth mild and turned into an inferno within 3 minutes… the tortilla, tender… I said ‘to hell with the salsa; I’m dipping my chips in the chile!“ I’ve eaten things that cost twice as much that were half as good. Santiagos, I will see you again soon!
