My mom and I have been coming here for as long as I can remember. I’ve tried going to other salons and haven’t found one where I’m completely happy after my haircut unlike this place. This is my «go-​to» salon for haircut and color. If I want something different than what I usually have, I just bring in a picture and Kim copies it. I love the way she cuts my hair. Even without a picture I can just tell her a little bit of what I want and it turns out great.

I agree with Kimmy C. This is my home base when I need a cut and, as is usually the case, a perm. My mom also frequents here regularly for cut, color and perms. Mrs. Kim is always nice and if you know what you’re coming in for, she’s consistently excellent. I always leave happy. She’s also super fast. I typically get a piggy back or digital perm — two hours max, whereas other places will take a couple hours longer. She’s actually pretty reasonably priced actually, but if you’re looking at Art E.‘s review, just make sure you settle the price before taking the plunge. I come here because everything costs half of what I’d find at a normal salon. Half the time, half the cost, happy customer every time. Like Kimmy says though, if you’re looking for a new cutting edge look, I’d advise going somewhere else, paying the cost and making sure you get your money’s worth there.

I am still «new» or rather, I have been back to Cali after a long hiatus in another state. I’ve been looking around for a new hairstylist that I can stay with. However, I haven’t found anyone yet… but here goes the review on this SALESPERSON:
I was referred to this salon by a co-​worker whom I trusted. I walked in and everything seemed great at first. Actually, the whole process went okay… in fact, I ended up getting my hair colored after Mrs. Kim talked me into it even though I simply wanted to just get my hair fixed up from a recent hair cut disaster from a regis hairstylist. Everything went OKAY until…
It was time to pay. My co-​worker had been reportedly going to Mrs. Kim who did my hair. She told me that she’s been paying $ 25 for her haircut. So I never bothered asking about how much I’ll pay. But when it was time to pay, she charged me $ 95 for hair touch up and color!
I was not at all like «WOW» with my hair… In fact, there was no major difference from the last cut other than being shorter and perhaps, «ugli-​ERR».
Then she asks me about tipping her. Why should I tip when the haircut was less than mediocre. I guess I expected her to read it on my disappointed face.
I have been to «higher end» salons and even those places don’t charge that much! Actually, the best places do charge that much, at the least, but the results are usually excellent.
I seriously don’t understand why people come back to her… maybe it’s the price she gives them.
Overall, I simply do not recommend this place.

there are many of these types of hair salons in the cerritos general area. where it’s a small stand alone salon (unlike those giganormous and über expensive hair salons). some people think that if they pay more money to get their hair done. they’ll have better results. personally, i’ve found those places to be hit or miss and these smaller mom& pop salons are much more consistent.
my mom, my aunt, my great aunt, my sister and i all frequent this salon time to time. the lady (ahjuhmah) that’s in charge is a pastor’s wife. from what i remember. and she’s always consistent and kind.
now if you’re looking for the hip, retro hair cut that is stand alone and unique. something that no one else has… don’t come here. so many times i think girls have to try that «new hairdo». even me. this is not the place to find that.
this is the kind of salon that you’ll come for just quality cut, color or perm. looks normal and even up to date. but it looks good. she reads your face and your hair well. you won’t get the out-​dated-​i-​look-​like-​my-​mom-​or-​some-​other-​ahjuhmah-​from-​the-​korean-​market look. but you’ll look clean and you’ll look good.
i come here whenever i want my hair fixed, nice bangs that look good, color, and i’ve even done my magic straight here once too. never left here unhappy.
the head lady speaks english well. and although most of the clients are korean. there are the occasional non-​koreans.
this is homebase for me when it comes to hair. :) even though i try other salons. i’ll always eventually return here.
would recommend for the above reasons and would definitely come back. :)
