Dis (Barry) and Dat (Suzie) visited Lanai from Florida to look at buying a retirement home. They found their home and moved to Lanai to retire. Retirement didn’t last. A few years later, outgoing Barry and Suzie started searching for unusual, finely crafted teak and exotic wood sculptures and carvings. Along the way, they took a shine to mobiles and wind chimes — the more outrageous, the better. Then they started collecting handmade jewelry, stained glass, and unique garden ornaments and home décor. All this led to this eclectic store, which you have to see to believe. You’ll find designer jewelry, 1000’s of windchimes, crystals and gongs, whimsical dragonfly lamps, handcarvings, and fabulous home and garden décor. This is also the biggest collection of Hawaiian slippah necklaces, earrings, anklets, and bracelets. You can’t miss the vivid green shop with hanging chimes and mobiles leading the way to the front door, with their ’59 Nash Metropolitan «chuggo» sitting proudly outfront.

Dis N Dat is a cool little place and even if you are not a shopper you should stop in for the experience. Dis N Dat is a store that sells, well, this and that. Jewelry, wind chimes, asian inspired trinkets and other stuff. Yes, that about sums it up. I guess you just have to go in and see for yourself!
The staff is super nice. The person working there is one of the friendliest person I met on Lanai. She helped me try on necklaces, wrapped them nicely and gave me candy! What a great time! They have some expensive items but some reasonably priced stuff too. Even thought their inventory is unique, its not weird stuff. I picked up too neat necklaces for $ 25 total and I’ve received compliments on them both.

A very unique and cute place on this small island of Lanai’. The exterior is quite colorful and charming, a few bright-​colored retro vehicles were showcased at the front yard. Attention is instantly grasped when walking on the quiet streets of Lanai’ city.
When you walk in the store, you’ll be mesmerized by the flickering as well as the tinkling of hundreds of chimes hung on ceiling. They sell various jewelry, stones, and other trinkets, too.
The owner is quite friendly. The prices are reasonable. It is a good place to pick up some gifts.
The store is mentioned in the local magazines as well as the brochures in the hotel. It seems like a well-​known local store.

Let’s face it, you go to Lanai for the beauty and stillness of the island, not necessarily to shop. Given that, you’d not expect much from the city’s handful of gift shops and stores, but this charming little place is definitely a must-​stop during your stay.
Dis N Dat is filled to the rafters, literally, with hundreds of interesting doo-​dads, trinkets, chimes, jewelry, statues, precious stones, and other irreverent, sometimes useless stuff (like the door stopper in the shape of a person bending over). Walking in the first time is almost like going into a magic shop. You get this whimsical, almost childlike happiness that washes over you.
It could be the constant (read: annoying if you’re in there more than 10 minutes) pealing of the wind chimes that flutter around in the air-​conditioned breezes, or just the amazing array of stuff there is to look at; either way, this is a place you want to stop at if you’re ever in Lanai City, even if it’s only for a few minutes.
You’ll walk out with a smile on your face and, maybe, a little this (or that) for someone back home.
