I do have to admit that this store is cheap and everything, but the people hanging outside are creepy. I don’t feel safe. Make sure you check the expiration dates.

I found granola that is usually $ 12 @ walmart for $ 1. They have name brand items for $ 1 can’t beat that. I go at least 3 times a month

This store has off brand items but its a 99 € store so what do u expect? ?? Ive visited maybe 3x’s and they always only have 2 registers open altho they go pretty quickly so altho lines maybe long its not a long wait. The store is always neat and clean haven’t tried any of the grocery items but they do have a small section…

I go here for the little stuff, TP, toothpaste, paper towels cleaning soaps and things like that because after heckling the ingredients list, it’s the exact same stuff in Clorox and other major brands. I wouldn’t buy the food though. I bought a can of tomatoes here and when I opened it up, it was full of peaches lol. That’s why I gave it four stars instead of five.

I love this store. It has spoiled me. Now I hate to pay full price for anything plastic or food items that I normally have to pay $ 2-$ 4 for. No kidding. If you aren’t too proud — e.g. have to shop at Albertsons or Vons or CVS or Walmart. yep, Walmart, then this is the place to go first. Then you can fill in your list with what they didn’t have. This is a very large 99 and they have paper, food, fresh items, grocery, refrigerated, frozen, canned, bagged, boxed, candy – by far the cheapest place to get candy bars. I have about 20 pair of eye glasses and 2 pair at Savon would have cost me that. Now I have them in every room and car and purse and… Some things are less than .99999999 like drinks and chips. Some are more like milk and eggs and large sizes of fresh food. In the A.V. we are very lucky to have 4 of these stores.

My shopping strategy is to go to the 99 cents store first, then go to my two regular grocery stops — Winco and Costco — after that. Why? Because you *can* save some dough here, if you know what to look for. Here’s some examples: hair styling gel for 99 cents(2.00 plus at Winco). Toothpaste(Aim or Ultrabrite are common) 6 ounces for 99 cents(again, 2.00 or more at Winco). You can get Colgate, but it’s for 4.6 ounces for 99 cents. No Crest. Ladies shaving razors with the pink handles in a cellophane wrap for 99 cents. Elsewhere 3 or 4 dollars on up. Cleaning supplies: this is where this kind of store does well. Pledge/Endust cleaner substitute for 99 cents. Liquid soap refills for 99 cents(3 or 4 bucks at Winco). Sandwich bags/aluminum foil/storage bags for. .. that’s right, 99 cents. Elsewhere comparable amounts can run 2 to 3 dollars per item. Really look at the number of bags in the container.. . one time I found 100 sandwich bags vs. 25 in a container.. . both off branded stuff. Sharp eyes help! Food: currently, an off brand enchilada sauce(El Pato) — large can — is 99 cents. Not Las Palmas. Las Palmas can’t be had at that price. But for everyday enchiladas, the off brand does fine. Winco carries the same item at $ 1.22 at the moment. Before the most recent food price inflation beginning circa 2008, the 99 Cents Only Store chain, found all over California, was the best place for a whole lot more.. . I used to buy more from them than Winco at one time, depending on my shopping list! No more. So many things used to be 99 cents at this store: La Victoria taco sauce, Bush’s baked beans, Kraft or Hunt’s BBQ sauce, Mother’s cookies, a HUGE container of apple newtons(they’re a lot smaller container now) and soup.. . Campbell’s condensed varieties, Progresso varieties, and off brands, and more besides. No more. Likewise I used to find some real bargains in the refrigerated/frozen food section. Once I found 32 ounces of salisbury steak and turkey with gravy for just.. . 99 cents. Even the cashier was astounded! I left several of these behind for other shoppers to get. If I was greedy — I’m not — I would have taken them all. Quite the bargain, and a real steal. Again, it pays to have a sharp eye in this kind of store. You never know what you’re gonna get.. .. Thanks, Forrest Gump.. . Please do yourself a favor and stay away from the produce. The bananas were below par and hard. Their tomatoes were tasteless. The lettuce looks like cabbage. You get what you pay for. Keep a sharp eye about you, and pick up the legitimate bargains only at the 99 Cents Only Store. This particular store is in the Valley Central Way«Power Center» near WalMart and Food4Less. This store is not the original store in this center — it’s the new locationed expanded version of the original which the company actually sued the City of Lancaster over and won the right to relocate as they saw fit in court — but this shopping district is rife with scuzzballs and human vermin. I’m being kind in saying this. Be safe out there. Don’t go here alone at night. Beggar’s and solictor’s heaven in the outside area and parking lot.
