History

Established in 2006.

The bar and memrobelia have made their way from Co. Waterford, Ireland and the furniture for Co. Armagh in Northern Ireland. The bar was built in Ireland, shipped over and installed in the renowned Sayers, Scheid & Sweeton building. Although the main bar & dining room is almost 2,000 sq. ft, the pub has a cozy atmosphere. A Quiet Beer, Happy Hour, Family Dinner, Sunday Brunch. .. you’ll find it here. The grand stone arch and fireplace perhaps steal the show as you walk through the doors that once adorned the Shelbourne Hotel in Dublin. As you walk past the main bar, you will see the impressive deck that is a very popular destination in downtown Lancaster. You can have dinner on the deck or just grab a beer at the bar out there! The recently renovated 2nd floor also houses an impressive bar which was built and shipped from Ireland. This dining area is a little quieter than the main bar so if you’re looking for a quiet dinner for two, this may be a nicer option.

A third generation Lancaster resident, Josh attended Penn State University studying Hotel, Restaurant, and Institutional Management. After graduation, he spent the next 10 years at the prestigious National Press Club in Washington, DC having served 5 of those years as Director of Business Development and Operations.

His focus is to provide a comfortable, inviting atmosphere in a traditional Irish pub for guests to enjoy the company of friends, family and colleagues. Reinforcing Annie Bailey’s role as Lancaster’s Public House. Come in for wonderful staff and our Lancaster-​sized portions!

You can see Josh just about everyday at the pub in his signature blazer — some habits from Washington are hard to break! Please introduce yourself and say hi!

It has its stand outs in a location known for more fresh food.
If you there I highly recommend the cheese steak egg rolls! Yeah you hear me right. Hands down best thing on the menu other than fish and chips.
Classic Irish pub looks, with good food, although a little pricey for the area. Wait staff is hit or miss as I have been there 4+ times now.
They do restrict age after a certain time and while town closes earlier than used to

Annie Bailey’s is very consistent in what they do. The service and food are very good, particularly their burgers. I’ve never had a bad experience or meal there. One of the better restaurants in Lancaster.

Went to Annie’s the other night with my daughter. Very nice atmosphere and our waiter was pleasant. My daughter ordered the chicken lettuce wraps and she said they were very good. I ordered the meatloaf. I LOVE meatloaf and if it’s on the menu, I will order it. My meatloaf was a very large portion of meat topped with mashed potatoes and carrots and Guinness gravy. Unfortunately, it was lukewarm, and bland tasting. The carrots were also under cooked. The gravy was good, but not enough of it. Annie’s has a great selection of beer, nice ambiance, but mediocre food.

Great summer spot for eating outdoors and having drinks with friends. Food was excellent both times I ate there. Drinks are well made and the servers are (for the most part) very nice. Note: The blackened tuna salad was phenomenal!

My sister, fiancé and I went here to have drinks after my cousins graduation. The female bartender upstairs told us we had to wait to order. We waited 35 minutes and the same bartender told my fiancé to F off and wait your turn. The rest of the staff apologized but said she was in the right. Never coming back here ever. Will advertise for competing bars ASAP

Very large menu here. Stopped in on a Wednesday night and it was rather busy, 30 minute wait for a table so decided to sit at the bar. I ordered the waffle cheese fries with pork on top, they were very good and a different take on your traditional cheese fries. I decided to also order 20 wings, 10 traditional hot, and 10 hot garlic, I must say that these are the best wings I have had in the Lancaster area, and possibly the best wings I’ve had anywhere within a 30 minute driving area. The wings themselves were «jumbo» and extra meaty, very high quality white chicken. The sauce seemed home made, the hot garlic was covered in fresh minced garlic cloves and the regular hot had some cracked pepper/​spices but gave that good buffalo taste. The bar itself it’s divided up by some dividers in the middle so I ate in privacy with my gf, even though we were at the bar which was nice. The service was also pretty good and polite, and we got our food rather quickly. I look forward to trying this place again.

We stopped in here during a convention in the area. We were hungry, and my husband recommended this place.
the staff is really nice, though it did take a few minutes to get refills. Their Cheese Steak rolls are awesome and almost a meal on their own.
I ordered the fish and chips. It was phenomenal! The fish practically melted in my mouth! The portions are huge, so if you decide to eat out with friends, I would suggest splitting a meal!

I really liked this bar we went here for a friend’s birthday back in January. We had a few delicious, cold pints of Guinness.
I enjoyed the décor, some of which was shipped in from Ireland I think.
As we had our first round the bar started to get packed. We were there earlier. I would definitely go back next time I find myself in Lancaster.

We decided to eat here on first Friday. Not a good idea apparently. They told us 10 minutes wait. After 30 minutes I asked the hostess and they hadn’t even written down our name. Got seated immediately after that. But then it got worse. Our server refused to get me a soda, never got us refills on water, no silverware at our table, and during all that managed to wait on the table next to us normally. we were there 2 and a half hours for a meal that should have taken at most 1 and a half. Not great. The only redeeming factor was the outstanding food.

One star is because of my experience not the food and I cannot complain about the service itself as a whole but I was extremely disappointed in one very upsetting occurrence during dinner and how it was handled. When we sat down we ordered our drinks, I ordered a beer and an unsweetened iced tea. The beer and iced tea came out together, I was dying of thirst so I took a giant gulp of the «iced tea» and was totally shocked by whatever it was in the glass. It tasted like soap or some sort of cleaner and I had just ingested a good amount of whatever this brown disgusting liquid was. Without me saying anything the waitress hurriedly came over and asked if I had iced tea and just took the glass away and returned with an actual glass of iced tea, all I really wanted to know was what I had drank so I asked her and she told me it was a new drink (?). I told her it tasted like cleaner of some sort and she said there may have been a little bit of cleaner that got in it. By the way the staff looked as she brought the glass back I believe that it was something that was very very bad, especially that I noticed the bar staff looking at me throughout the night seeming to be making sure I was ok which is great that they were concerned but really all I wanted was an honest answer about why I drank instead of being told it was a new drink. No bar tender in their right mind would make a drink that tastes like soap and all sorts of harsh cleaner. So my one star is based on one very bad component of the whole dinner. I can’t really say if the food was great or not because I was too concerned about the mystery drink that no one would give me a straight answer about.
Know that little saying «honesty is the best policy» it’s around for a reason. Even if it was a big glass of cleaner that I drank I would have liked to know. I know it won’t kill me and all of us could have laughed it off but the fact that honesty wasn’t used makes it a terrible experience.

As usual, I sat at the bar.
Went there for dinner one night, and had the bangers and mash. The sausages fell apart as you cut them, and were tender and delicious. Salty (as expected) but very good. I also recommend the roasted vegetables, which in this case was roasted carrots, and came at only a small upcharge. The gravy actually tasted like it had onions and mushrooms in it, which is rare in my experience.
For an Irish pub, they had a great beer list. I also came back the following day and watched some soccer while I did work. Exceptionally friendly bar staff.
One negative: Closed early in the winter (at 1030, when they said they were open until 2am).
3.9÷5. Good beer list, good staff, free wifi, better than average Irish pub fare.

Great bar/​restaurant, wide selection and comparable prices. I love the upstairs bar (in winter) and the back deck (in spring-​fall). Come early enough in the evening for a nice/​quiet dinner experience.
The food is a bit on the pricey side, but worth it. Their Sunday brunch is fantastic!

Have been here a few times, and enjoyed good good, service, and drinks. This experience was a surprising disappointment.
Drawn by the memory of Annie’s superb house bloody marys and tasty food, we headed out.
To summarize:
Brisket, supposedly slow smoked for many hours, was a flavorless tangle of room temperature beef of some sort – kind of like pot roast, but without the flavor. My companion had the Kobe burger – no idea what the cheesy-​ish layer was that sat on top of it. And oh joy, a meager handful of elderly fries accompanied the sandwiches. We brought this to our server’s attention, snagging her when she brought us drinks. She told us «they’d been having trouble with this all day.» A $ 12 to 14 sandwich needs to come with hot, fresh fries, and our server did replace ours with delicious new ones. I didn’t get a pickle either, but my partner gave me one of his 2 slices. Also got a tiny plastic cup of coleslaw, which I used to flavor my booorrring sandwich. See the pic… ew.
Otherwise, subpar service – pleasant but clueless… no mention of drink specials, for instance. But when I asked about one special, after seeing it on a flyer, she was puzzled, then offered to find out about it – IF I was really interested. (Well yeah – thats why I asked!) Also never bothered to check on us, see if everything was ok, fill our water glasses, etc.
And no more of those great bloody Marys were to be had. While ok, with infused vodkas (we chose dill pickle and celery seed, yum), they did not arrive in the attractive, tall glasses of the past… This visit, they came in squat beer glasses. No celery, no lush olive, no cheese and cocktail onion on its little spear… But an extremely ordinary cocktail with 3 sad little toothpicked olives. But – whoa! – a slice of lemon AND lime sat on the rim.
An off day? I hope so. Not sure I’ll be back after this deal. Will keep an eye on the reviews, in hopes that the owners wake up and start caring again.

Review just for drinks at the bar. I went on a very loud, crowded weeknight for just one drink on the way to a concert. It was a cute place with lots of character a bit over shadowed by the noise. Bartender took good care of us despite the crowds. The other bar patrons, however, were crowded around and blocking the way through for servers and customers despite the availability of tables. Cordws cleared out eventually. I would go back, but in the afternoon.

I was a little surprised on this one, as I didn’t expect much. I was tired after a day of travel and this was one of the only places within walking distance of the hotel.
I had the meatloaf. I need to disclaim the friend I was with also got it and didn’t like it, but I thought it was pretty good.
For a bar, it’s got decent food and I’d try it again next time I’m headed through Lancaster.

My wife and I stopped in for late dinner and loved it! Claire was a great server, and the chicken pot pie was amazing and unique. My wife loved her loaded chicken sandwich. Large portions!
Salted Carmel cake w ice cream was an amazing desert to top it off!

I Unilocaled this before we went here. Glad we came. The bartender Travis was very accommodating and made sure our drinks were full. He suggested some food options that were said to be very yummy. We ordered one of the apps he recommended which was shrimp on potato cakes. They were awesome!
I told hime we were going to just share a meal because we wanted to eat light before the concert. We ordered pork BBQ with grilled pineapple. Wow amazing. What i would like to add, they cut our sandwhich in half and put a portion on two plates with fries on each plate! We never asked for that so i thought that was pretty cool they did it for us because that never happens! So thanks for that!
