This is hands down the best Greek food I have ever had. The restaurant is clean and nice. The waiter was very professional and helpful. The gyro meat was to die for. We rolled into Lancaster at 9pm on New Years Day, and Spyro was pretty much the only place open. So glad we stumbled upon this gem. Delicious, Delicious, Delicious!

Wandering around downtown Lancaster recently my wife espied a sign that mentioned salads so we stopped in here. On entering we looked at each other, it’s pretty divey. But we persevered and the chatty and very friendly server seated us in the window.(Luckily we could see the TV and the Steelers beating the Bengals!) I remained apprehensive even with the friendly service. However, once the food arrived I changed my mind completely. It was excellent food, very fresh and well prepared and served. I devoured my gyro plate as did my wife her salad with meat. Great service, tasty food and reasonable price. Nothing fancy, just a good experience. Don’t let the building fool you. Probably a 4 ½ really but not an option so give it a 5.

Worst dinner I have ever had. Wait staff tossed plastic ware on the table, only had water and Coke for beverages, didn’t have any chicken, place was filthy, messed up our orders, and the food was horrible. I tried this place for the first time and will never go there again.

Stopped by here after a wedding in town to get some late night food. The lady at the counter was very nice. I wanted wings but they didn’t have them and listed some specials. We decided to try an appetizer platter and lamb platter to share. Calamari and grape leaves were delish but it didn’t come with pita as we were told. We had to wait 20 mins for the lamb platter. When he brought it out he had two plates with rice and one leg of chicken on each plate(thinking he was nice enough to split the portions for us). We told him we wanted lamb not chicken but we will keep one since we were both starving. He brought another lamb plate back after 15 mins with just gyro meat and rice-no sauce, salad or pita as we were told! The food was mediocre. We were charged full price for both entrees when we only ordered one and kept half of the chicken one. It seemed very disorganized. We could have gotten a lot more food for the price we paid.

Really great food every single time. My husband loves the stuffed grape leaves. I think the gyro and the spanakopita is wonderful. The owner goes out of his way to arrange our dish special, he is a super great guy. We always enjoy ourselves there. Very authentic, strong and flavorful food!

Came here for lunch on Sunday. They basically said they didnt have beef or lamb, ok… Then they werent able to make the pastito, no onion soup, only 2 choices of soda. They have no ingredients to run a store! Portion sizes are a bit small. Lastly we went to pay and their credit card machine wasnt working. Just a little annoying.

Just came for a quick bite. I had the falafel pita. The server told me it was different in that it’s made into a giant long patty. It was pretty tasty overall. The portion was huge, and I could have easily shared with friends. The pita was soft and fresh. The falafel was flavorful and not too greasy. It was chock full of fresh veggies and hummus. I got it spicy which was decent, but I think I might stick with the traditional next time, as the buffalo sauce was a bit overpowering. It also came with some super tasty fries that had a great mix of crispy and squishy pieces. The service was super prompt and friendly. Banaifa really helped to make sure my order was the way I wanted it. I definitely recommend this place for a late night bite with friends.

I was not impressed. The place was not very clean and service was very slow(it was not crowded). My gyro was good but nothing great. They only had sweet potato fries left, which I am not a big fan and they came out with bits of other food in it. My wife’s chicken gyro was supposed to have marinated chicken in it but came out with a fried chicken finger in it. So the experience was a little disappointing.

Oh man! We were just saying ‘we need som baba ganoush!‘and here we found it. Large portions of everything. Baba needed a second pita it was so generous. Authentic gyro was just that. Grew up manging on them in Chicago and this one brought me back. Careful if you don’t like spice as they will put hot peppers inside. Dear spouse had spinach pie and salad and enjoyed. Offspring had spyro salad. Large portion. Said meat a litter tough but she can be a tough critic as it almost all disappeared. Definitely going to be a repeat

What a great place. I had a Gyro on a whole wheat pita, it was delicious. The tzatziki was really fresh and thick with sour cream. Yum… I will definitely be back.

this place… I have been here a few times but had to stop going. I am sorry but this place is filthy. How it passes health inspections is beyond me. The food is tasty and as a strict carnivore I actually really enjoy the vegetarian platter. However I just cannot get over how gross this place is. I will keep this short, if the owners can clean this place top to bottom and keep it clean I would have no problem eating here, but until then… well I just cannot recommend this place.

I was in town for a wedding this weekend, and Spyro Gyros experienced myself and my intoxicated friends two nights in a row after last call(so sorry). We were loud and rowdy, but that didn’t faze the brave men and women of Spyro Gyros from cooking up delicious, delicious falafel and shwarma gyros. The combo apps did the trick too, especially after our night. We fed our friend floor falafel and it was hilarious. Anyways, thanks to Brooke for putting up with our shenanigans for 2 nights in a row. And sorry to the other female employee, who had to put up with my friend’s ramblings. I overheard once and he was talking about desalinization of water. What? –Iron Man

Wish I could give this no stars. My friends ordered food and people who ordered their food AFTER them received their orders before. When their order finally came through the food was not fully cooked, and we were yelled at for asking for our money back. We asked politely multiple times why others were getting served and not us. Who conducts business like this?!? Why was I yelled at??? 100% unacceptable The female cook did not wear gloves and touched everything in the kitchen. We were there over an hour and I did not see her wash her hands once. DIRTY!!! Worst $ 8.50 I spent in my life. I am now stuck with a cold chicken gyro because it was an hour wait for my friend’s undercooked pizza and falafel. Shame on you!

Initially I only ordered a smoothie(mango and it was good), but as I waited I found it a shame not to try a gyro so I ordered up an Authentic and sipped my drink til it arrived. All gyros come with fries. And not just any fries, but some of the best fries around. Hard to explain that one, but trust me they’re great. As far a the gyro, I have never seen so much meat. All in all it was a good lunch, maybe I could have used some more tzatziki but still very good, very filling, and not to forget relatively inexpensive. In conclusion, if you go in for a smoothie don’t be a dummy; order a gyro.

Ran across this place by accident. Wow! What a happy accident! Seafood bisque was outstanding and so was the taboulle appetizer. Main course: I had the authentic gyro, incredible! My wife the vegetarian delight, also incredible! This is as authentic as you can get in the states I’m sure. Maybe the best Greek we’ve gotten. Oh yeah, and the baklava… Smack you in the face good!

Food — 4 ½ stars Service — 1 star Their gyros are very very tasty and fresh, and fill you up. The toppings have always been pretty fresh. I’ve been here a few times, most recently for sit down. The other times were take — out. My most recent visit there was only one waitress, and she was literally doing everything except the cooking. There were tables which needed cleaning off, orders sitting around, and only a few patrons in the place. They were seriously under-staffed. Don’t know if someone called out at the last minute, or what, but it really impacted my impression of a sit — down aspect of the place. I’ll come back again and see if it has improved next time I’m in town, and update.

It pains me to give this place only 2 stars because I like their food & the employees were sweet… but…here goes why I will not be going back for a 3rd trip & seriously considered rating them with only 1 star, but thought I’d be nice & give them 2: My first take-out experience went off without a hitch: I ordered two«authentic» gyros as entrees & hummus for an appetizer. The gyro was a mix of beef & lamb, with the lamb being the dominant flavor. Nice big chunks of meat, topped with onions, tomatoes and a dollop or three of tzatziki sauce. These gyros came with a side of battered fries. YUM. I was very pleased. The hummus, eh, I felt gypped by the the amount of pita they gave me to scoop it up with, but whatever, the food was good enough to go back for a second round. My second take-out experience, yikes. I ordered their schwarma platter and veal kokkinisto. These both came with a Greek salad. When I was handed my order, They gave me a bag with three styrofoam containers, ok, so far so good… and, a pizza box. Huh? A pizza box, what the hell? Ok, whatever. I leave, go back to my hotel, mouth watering, ambitions running wild. I open this mysterious pizza box… and inside was apparently my schwarma platter. They plopped hummus in the top left corner, 5 pita chips in the top right corner, a handful of «fragrant» beef in the lower right corner(which was just gyro meat, not schwarma), french fries in the lower left corner… and my Greek salad smack dab in the middle. How many cardinal rules of food plating does this break? Hots with colds? Salad greens in the same container as hot meats? AND A PIZZABOXFILLEDWITHHUMMUS? NO, JUSTNO. It dripped everywhere. My food was disappointing and mangled together. Remember the veal kokkinisto I ordered too? They gave me moussaka. Not even close. Maybe I should have checked my order before I left the restaurant, especially after staring at the mystery pizza box, but I didn’t. I was in a hurry anyways because obviously this food wasn’t all just for me. Top this all off with as I was walking out of the door with my hands full, I got shoulder checked by one of the male employees.(He was not one of the aforementioned employees that I described as sweet. I don’t even know if he worked in there for sure, but when I looked back in disgust, he had already disappeared behind the counter. So, idk, maybe he worked there, maybe a friend of the place, but not cool shoulder checking a girl or anyone with their hands full.) One last thing… for a Greek place, they only have 2 lamb options. Roasted lamb with potatoes and a half beef/half lamb«authentic» gyro… My advice: the food tastes good, but buyer beware. Check out the picture I uploaded of pizza box I kept talking about during my rant.
