Description

Specialties

As a Certified Tellington Touch Practitioner, I provide a gentle, kind and positive learning atmosphere. I specialize in behavior modification training of reactive and aggressive canines using positive results-oriented methods. Clicker training is one of the tools used as well as play training, Tellington Touch Method of Training, mental stimulation to create a «thinking» dog. Tellington Touch is a system of training in three parts to include, bodywork, leading exercises and higher learning coursework. It brings balance, focus, and calm so a dog is in a better position to learn, respond and succeed. Clicker training is a perfect partner as it develops an ideal communication method between species and allows you to reward what your dog did right, so this is repeated. In working with reactive and aggressive dogs I use a number of methods in addition to the above such as desensitization, counter conditioning, and classical conditioning.

History

Established in 2007.

Training dogs has always been a part of my life and so after living on Whidbey Island for awhile I transitioned to behavior dog training full-time in January of 2007. Business has grown and I have a mobile unit that travels to clients from Olympia to Bellingham. Currently the Learning Center operates at the Island County Fairgrounds and uses the 4H Building.
