I was simply looking for a quiet library to read. Unfortunately, this library was a bad choice. The library is small, loud, and has very limited seating. The librarians don’t even bother to talk quietly.

Small Town Library’s are more than that; they are a local information gathering hub, part day care, inexpensive way to catch up on Hard Copy News through: Newspaper, Magazine. Peace and Quiet, as in Shushing You for every Expressive Thought does not happen here!!! There are places that can accommodate you, but you will be alone… very alone. i have been using the library since i moved here in 1964, it has never been that loud. They need to get their Music Lending Library more in «TUNE» with the times; other than that, i have no complaints, really. The WIFI comes in handy for your hand held devices. Be ready to spend some time for your first Log In at the Computers. i have never heard a complaint about this Library, only what i read here.

My family uses the library regularly — to check out book mostly, but also to enjoy children’s story times and other programs. This library is a community hangout, especially for young people and kids so the afterschool hours and summer afternoons tend to be loud and a little crazy. They have a nice children’s section and a separate young adult section. The Children’s Librarian, Miss Rachee, is awesome. She is great at her job and is very friendly. The library has a decent collection for a library its size. There are about 10 computers for internet access and a few others for word processing. There is free Wifi too. It isn’t a stuffy place for bookworms, this is a community library with lots of traffic. So if you want peace and quiet, its probably not the first place you should go.

I really wanted to like this library, really I did. I just couldn’t do it.
The Lansdowne library is small, which wouldn’t be a bad thing if they could enforce the general rules of the library. Instead, there are children running around and yelling. There are only two outlets in the entire library and a lot of times, people are unwilling to share table space (how rude!). Even the librarians themselves are loud — if I can hear you through my headphones and music, you should not be working at the library!
I understand that a good library has programs for the community — but every night? That means that the folks looking for a quiet place to study and do work are out of luck.
