Very good food, way better than Claddah, it’s consistent, great drinks, Jenny is one their awesome bartenders. Come here often, great new happy hour too.

Came here one a Friday night at 7 and was seated immediately. The waiter came and helped us right away and was very helpful. For this being the first time I have been here it was alright but would not say it’s fantastic. My sister ordered the vodka farfalle and she really liked it but was disappointed with the low quality chicken that was put in it and the portion that came along with the price was not good. Quite expensive for a small portion that they considered their dinner portion. I decided to get the wings that came in different sauces. I got 5 with Chipotle BBQ and the other half with hot honey sauce. I was a big fan of the hot honey and the Chipotle BBQ was really hot but enjoyable as well. Only issue I had with the wings were that I only got ten and it was rather expensive for them with no sides and the wings were not the best quality meat that I’ve had before. I have gone to other bar/restaurants before and have gotten better quality wings and cheaper price and was more pleased. All in all this place isn’t too bad if you want a casual and sports bar filled environment, but expect to have a decent bill as well.

I will never come to this establishment ever again. I walked in at 11:58 on April 30th to have lunch with my husband. As I walked in, there were two males standing at the hostess stand. One didn’t even bother to look up and make eye contact. The second male made eye contact and with a smile I said, «Good morning! Oh, I’m sorry I mean good afternoon!» He looked at me blankly with no response so I said, «Table for two please.» He began to grab menus when the first male finally looked up and said, «Excuse me, quick question. We have a reservation coming in at 2:30p.m. do you think that would be enough time for you guys to eat?» My husband and I looked at each other agreed that would be more than enough time, as it was about 12p.m. at this point. I was confused why he would ask this. The restaurant was relatively empty, and unless they were closing it completely for a private party or a party was going to use our specific table what was the point of asking this? It was odd, and at this point I was feeling a little uneasy about this place so I started observing the environment I was in. There were about 10 couples, ALL caucasian customers sitting in the main front open area of the restaurant. They led us to the back left of the restaurant to a secluded area(room) where there were 3ALL Black families eating. The area was small and a tight fit. The guy who led us there said, «Is this fine?» He dropped down our menus on the table as I was answering, without really listening to my reply. We sat for about 5 minutes and no one came to greet us or ask for our drinks orders etc. At this point we were upset with the treatment we were given and decided we did not want to spend our money in an establishment like Champps. Why would they seat us in a cramped area when there was more than enough room in other areas. Also, I doubt the reservation that was coming in was going to be seated in this tight spot. We ended up getting up to leave and no one batted an eye. They didn’t ask why we were leaving, if we were unpleased– nothing. We ended up going to Max & Ermas where a server opened the door for us, greeted us immediately with a huge smile and a friendly, inviting tone. Kayla our waitress was so awesome. She had wonderful suggestions, didn’t rush us and treated us with respect. I believe we were treated unfairly at Champps due to my husband being Black. This may be argued by some, but what cannot be argued is the fact that they did not greet us, were extremely dismissive and rude. You do not treat customers that way when they come into a business regardless of your personal biases. It’s a really a shame that some people do not value customer service anymore.

My boyfriend and I decided to eat over sports. Naturally, we ordered the typical bar food such as a burger and fries, and the appetizer platter. At first our male waiter was attentive but slowly the service began to deteriorate. Once my appetizer platter came I instantly noticed that the potato wedges were burnt. I didn’t want to complain and figured they would still taste okay, WRONG. I bit into them and all I could taste is the char from the broken hard pieces of potato. At that point I moved on to the wings and mozzarella sticks. Lets just say the wings had no sauce or flavor, and the mozzarella sticks were cold(you can tell by the lack of stringiness that occurred when broke them apart). At this point I decided to ask for the wedges to be replaced. Sadly it took about 15 minutes until I could grab my waiters attention to even inform him. A female waiter finally came up and asked if I wanted a carry out container. I said yes, but I would also like new wedges as mine were burnt! She then said«they always look like that.» I responded«Really? Because they are hard and chipping off and all I taste is burnt potato.» She then said«I can replace it but it will just be burnt again.» At that point I looked at her in a confused manner and my boyfriend told her«Just replace them.» Her response«Fine, but it will be a while because the kitchen is busy.» At this point I was completely over this dining experience. We waited about 10 minutes and my wedges came out and they were NOT burnt. Sadly we had to wait another 15 minutes for a waiter to come back to provide the check. During this time I had a container and 4 to go sauces. The waiter saw but I still had to ask for a bag to carry it all. How was the hamburger you ask? It was lackluster. Let’s just say there was a lack of quality service and the food was poor. I doubt I will be back.

Pros: They take reservations so we didn’t have to wait a long time on a Friday night. They have a ton of TV’s and the boys’ only request was to be able to watch the Hawks playoff game. The sampler appetizer was good. Cons: I ordered the NY Strip steak, medium rare. But it was closer to Medium(medium well at ends) and I was disappointed with the the lack of flavor. Plus the temperature of the steak, asparagus and mashed potatoes were less than warm. Unfortunately, this won’t be a top pick for dinner. Maybe just for drinks and apps.

terrible, horrible service, bartender Jeremy harassed me and my friend sitting up at the bar. I still gave him a tip but I shouldn’t have.

Good but pricey. The service has always been good. Today I had the ½ grilled cheese and soup. I had chili for the soup and it had a slight bite. Crackers tasted funny. Side of broccoli was really good. The adult grilled cheese was naughty and of course tasty. I only come here when my group overall decides on the place. It’s not my first choice for the price point to value.

First time here, it was pretty good. Had an «adult grilled cheese» with ham, bacon & a fried egg. It came with chips which were incredibly tasty. May have given 5 stars but our server was also the bartender & was more into standing around an empty bar then checking on us. Id surely go back

I tried this place out on 11÷07÷15. It was a nice place with a lot of TV’S playing college games. It was not so busy that we had to wait for a table, which is a plus, because my wife has zero ability to wait for a table. I ordered the turkey sausage pasta, and the wife had a chicken wrap. I enjoyed the flavor of mine, but, would have liked a lot more protein in it. The wife enjoyed hers, and even had a half of a wrap to take home. The wife ordered a side salad, and was very disappointed in it, especially for $ 4.00. I would go back again, but, hope the wait staff would be a little more attentive to the needs of the customer.

Never had a bad meal/drink at this place. It is a casual atmosphere, yet has a touch of class to it as well. They have burgers, sandwiches, fish, pastas, and the list goes on. You will have no problem finding something to eat here no matter who you are. Huge bar with great specials. Thursday night is the night to go, although you will most likely have to wait to be seated if you go between 5 – 8(I forget the exact special, but it’s really good). Food portions are very generous and service has always been great. The only downside is they are usually very busy seating-wise(and the place is huge) but the service is somehow still very quick once you do get seated… plus if it’s always busy, it’s probably very good!

Used to go to the one I think in the Novi/Plymouth/West Bloomfield area(can’t remember) as a child in the early 2000s. Things have changed. Still a great place to watch games and drink. They have guiness on draft so that’s great. What’s not great is waffle fries don’t automatically come with your meal anymore and also you can see in the kitchen. I don’t appreciate seeing my meal under a heat lamp waiting for the rest of tables meals to be done.

This is my first time visiting champs at happy hour. The happy hour is from 3pm-6pm. I wasn’t too impressed with the drink specials. The happy hour appetizers were five dollars except for the big platter(I think) I got the Milehigh chicken nachos. I was not impressed. This is what I got on my plate, about four bags of chips, about six pieces of chicken, and some cheese here and there. We had to order some queso dip to go with all the chips. Not going back here for happy hour.

Ordered a dozen wings and if you come before 6 they’re only $ 5, can’t beat that! I ordered the chicken ranch wrap and I liked how the ranch was on the side so I could control how much I wanted, the garlic mashed potatoes were good too! My favorite part of this restaurant is the Mile High Ice Cream Pie, its so huge that you get some looks when it’s presented but I couldn’t put down my fork.(the crust is amazing!) The restaurant is a bit noisy but I guess that comes with the territory of a sports bar, we asked if they’d turn the music down and they didn’t hesitate to do so!

This was a great place. I had lunch on the patio and had a drink after work as well. For lunch I had the Ahi Tuna Tacos, which were amazing. The tuna was well seasoned. The fruit salsa was a perfect complement to the dish. The side dishes were also huge! I had the greek salad and it could have been it’s own meal. The only thing keeping this place from one more star is that the drinks don’t seem to be made from scratch and are typical of most bars. They do have a couple creative cocktails and a good selection of beer. Overall the combination of great food, good drinks and exceptional service makes this a great place and I intend to be a regular.

Typical sports bar. I’ve never had a bad experience here. I have a favorite dish here, if it weren’t for that, I don’t know that I would necessarily go back. But… I love the California wrap so much. Ha. I’ll be back. :-)

Average-to-below-average sports bar. It’ll serve for food and drink if you’re in a pinch. Okay place to come and watch the game while eating meh-to-decent food at slightly high prices. Also to drink slightly expensive beer. Was here recently for a friend’s birthday party and received truly awful service. Some fries took 25 minutes midway through; no consideration at all for the birthday girl. Our waitress was a bit rude to some our guests who arrived early as well when asking us to move. My and the lady’s food was fine; her french dip was good and my pulled pork sammich received an 83%(not made with love; tasted like it came out of a bin that’d been sitting for quite a long time). This place feels as if it is striving for mediocrity. I won’t be back. I don’t really understand why people spend money at places like this — seek something better.

We were traveling 127. Temps were in the single digits. We stopped for dinner here ‘cuz we thought we could warm up better than at a Subway. The place is a large room with TVs all the way around. Hubby pointed out that it might have been better to use the kind of roof that doesn’t require a post here and there, in front of a TV. But for the most part, you can see enough of them to keep track of at least five channels at once. The restrooms were very clean but incredibly chilly. The water at the faucet at least was not freezing, but I would have appreciated being able to thaw my fingers. So we’re obviously freezing and ask for water with no ice, and some hot tea for me. The water came with ice. We got that corrected. My tea arrived with the hot water already poured over the tea bag. It was black tea with caffeine.(Just a note for those who try to avoid it as do I.) I was grateful for some hot liquid so I didn’t try to find out of they had any other kind. I’m guessing they don’t. We ordered a chicken fingers appetizer, cuz it would get out of the kitchen quickly. I didn’t like the dough — heavy, and a bit too salty. But we received our required protein, so I was happy. We saw French onion soup on the menu. OK, we’ll split one of those. It turns out that soups DO come in two sizes, even though it’s not clear on the menu. We got the bowl. When it came, it was a nice large bowl of hot brown liquid that you’d expect. But thrown together quickly and missing a lot of flavor. The bread had not been toasted. It was soggy. The cheese was not caramelized from being under the broiler, it was just melted. So if you’re a real French onion soup snob, don’t order it here! But it was warm, and that’s what we were after. Next the salmon arrived on a bed of steamed spinach and broccoli. We split that, too. Our waiter brought us a second plate. The fish had a hint of that crispy seared flavor from being cooked over fire. But only a hint. I think it was rushed a bit, though we do prefer our fish cooked as little as possible. At this point, we were too stuffed to contemplate dessert. We declined. Our waiter brought our check and then disappeared for several minutes. We didn’t have any indication of whether we should take our check up ourselves or wait at our table. It was just the receipt, not inside one of those little restaurant books that hold your credit card. So we got up and looked for a register. Turns out you’re supposed to wait, but we really needed to hit the road anyway. Hubby’s chair had been very rickety, and we pointed that out to our waiter, so that maybe someone could do something about it. My chair had been just fine. Hubby said he would rate the place 2.5 stars. There are some small flaws that would be easily fixed. My vote tipped it toward a solid 2. It’s not fine dining; it’s a sports bar. Portions are large, but the food could be a lot better.

I’ve been to champps countless times over the years but after the dealing with their rude, condescending and finally insulting manager today, I will never be back. Dustin’s attitude and accusations at my family were way over the top for any service employee not to mention restaurant manager. When he said«you people always try to scam us» I was done with him and champps as a whole. For the record we only trying to use the coupons they sent us. What kind of manager says good when a long time customer tells him they will never be back to his restaurant? The food is decent but overpriced, the service is mostly good but as long as Dustin works there I will not be back.

This is a pretty typical sporty grill American food type place, but I like it more than similar places so I gave it an extra bump. The prices are a smidge on the high side but the portions are generous and the food is a little better than other similar places. They usually have a couple of good beers on draft(two Founders selections last time I was there) in addition to the usuals. Great for watching sports, good service every time I’ve been there, and always clean. I’ve never had to wait too long either, even at busy times. This place is not going to blow your mind but if you are thinking about going to Applebee’s or something you should just drive the extra mile and come here instead. It’s a solid«Where do you want to go?» «I don’t know, where do you want to go?» choice.
