History

Established in 1989.

We have been a local Lansing icon for decades, under current ownership since 1989, family owned and operated. Just like her father before her, our granddaughter, at 5, is the bagger for customers, collects the stores empty hangers, and helps count worms when the bait order comes in. We have been serving our military for over 26 years with our full service insignia shop. We provide personal service and excellent quality. The Foxhole PX is one of Michigan’s last true surplus stores. Over half of the Foxhole’s 6000 square feet of sales space is dedicated to surplus. Resident survivalists are on hand, and have lively discussions each week, sharing their knowledge of outdoor skills. They take yearly survival trips and test new products and techniques, and bring home information that only experience can provide. We pride ourselves in carrying many US made products.

Business Owner

As a teen, Tim loved shopping at the Foxhole. Later he graduated from a survival school in Washington State and took several outdoor survival classes at our local college. He and Kelly started selling outdoor gear in a yard sale at their home, then in the parking lot of his fathers restaurant. They opened a small surplus store, Trailblazers, then when the Foxhole became For Sale, it was a natural move. Tim became his own boss and he and Kelly could be there full time with their infant son in tow.
