With our Swedish roots our expertise is in Scandinavian style baking. Fresh from our ovens we give you breads, pastries and cakes made without added preservatives. Taste baking the way it used to be. We use real butter and cream. Maybe not calorie free but you deserve the best ingredients.

We specialise in all types of celebration cakes, especially birthday cakes, graduation cakes, retirement cakes, anniversary cakes, wedding cakes and baby shower cakes.

We also stock all sorts of special food items from Scandinavia including herring from Sweden and chocolate from Finland.

History

Established in 1981.

Ingrid and Esbjorn Olsen come to Florida from their native Sweden and opened up the Polar Bakery in Lantana. For the next twenty three years they baked fresh tasty bread, cakes and pastries. Then they semi-​retired for ten years before opening up again, because of customer demand, moving in October 2013 to the new location in Atlantis where Esse bakes during the night so you can enjoy the results the next morning.

Meet the Business Owner

Business Owner

Esse is the driving force of the bakery. He started baking as an apprentice in his native Sweden at fifteen. By the time he was nineteen he owned his first bakery, along with his wife, Ingrid. He sold the bakery and moved to Florida in 1981 to open Polar Bakery.
