History
Established in 2004.
Thaikyo is a family owned business run by husband and wife team Jo and Tony Cheung. The concept for Thaikyo all started one night when the two were trying to figure out where to go for dinner. Jo was craving Japanese food and her husband really wanted Thai food. They couldn’t ever agree on one restaurant because their cravings never coincided. So, the two thought, why don’t we create a restaurant where we can satisfy both our tastes? In that moment Thaikyo was born.
Meet the Business Owner
Jo and Tony C.
Business Owner
Tony has worked in the restaurant industry for over 35 years. He has played a part in every aspect of the restaurant business, from server, to cook, to bartender, chef, and now restaurant owner. You will find him in the restaurant everyday interacting with his customers.
Jo didn’t join the culinary world until she met Tony. Together this husband and wife team have worked in the restaurant industry for over 20 years. Before Thaikyo, they owned a Chinese restaurant which prospered for ten years. They eventually sold the business and started the concept for Thaikyo a year later.
They enjoy working in the restaurant world because they get to meet so many different people from all walks of life. It’s obvious their passion stems from their customers and the relationships they build with them on a daily basis.
