I called My Essentials on behalf of Mercy College to ask their store if they would be willing to donate a gift card or gift basket to a Mercy College student scholarship fundraising auction we are having. The woman rudely replied– «we only give to charities.» I responded to her letting her know that we are a nonprofit and that all funds raised from our auction are put towards paying for the higher education of deserving students who otherwise would not be able to attend college. To this she replied– «no you’re not». Apparently this woman either doesn’t understand or doesn’t think fundraising to pay for the higher education of students is important. For this reason alone I would never go to this store. Ignorance.
