Specialties
We are a full service boarding, daycare, and grooming facility for dogs and cats. Our staff are highly skilled, well-trained, kind and loving people who have also chosen to make animal care their career.
Our state-of-the art, modern facilities and extensive pet care experience ensures that every pet who comes through our doors enjoys a safe, healthy and happy boarding, daycare or grooming experience. We also provide comfort and support to pet parents who are nervous about leaving their furry children behind because we know it can be nerve-wracking, even for just a few hours!
You can relax knowing that your pet is being cared for like he was at home — maybe even better! Animals are watched closely at all times to make sure they are as comfortable as possible and to be sure they are thoroughly enjoying themselves. Our visitors enjoy tons of human love and tons of playtime. Lots of our pups don’t even want to leave when it’s time to go home each day. We’re pretty sure that’s the best testimonial, ever!
History
Established in 1954.
Advantage Pet Center was originally known as Rolene’s Kennels. When it was first established, 66th Street was a gravel road, and the area was very rural … ½ way between the cities of St. Petersburg and Clearwater, which back then were very separate communities. Over the years, the community developed around Rolene’s (the name was changed to Advantage Pet Center about 20 years ago), to the point where the area is now one of the busiest and most conveniently located in the entire county. However, because the property has been a kennel for over 60 years, are zoning is «grandfathered» in, so we are one of the few kennels that is allowed to have such large, open-air play yards, because we are not encumbered by current zoning laws which limit outdoor activities.
Thus, we are able to have five open-air play yards (the largest being ½ acre) with two outdoor swimming pools. Our boarding and day care dogs have the opportunity to really run and play!
