Boy I wouldn’t want to be in the pet care business in today’s world of the social media review. If anything goes wrong with their dog, if it gets sick, hurts a leg in the play yard, etc, they blame the kennel and 1 star is the result. I’d be very wary of reviews that start out «my baby» or «my son», lol, really people?
We have a German Shepherd/​Husky mix that has severe, and I mean severe, separation anxiety. We rescued him at 4 and for the last 2 years we have sent him to APC for occasional daycare, boarding and grooming. The staff at APC has been terrific. At first he was totally out of control, destroyed crates, etc, but now he is a completely different dog and loves going to APC. They’ve been a big help in our effort to cure him from this terrible condition. I wouldn’t take him anywhere else.

My baby can’t get in the door fast enough, she knows when we are a block away. The employees are so nice, they love dogs! I have never had any health, or injury issues with her there and she goes a least once or twice a week. She also has been boarded there. As for someone not getting a goodbye kiss, please, that is laughable, get your kiss before you take him in. I can honestly say my pup comes home and is exhausted for a least a day. She loves her Advantage doggie day care!!!

Never would I take my baby here again. We dropped our 8 month puppy off, and they took him without letting us say goodbye. As I was leaving I went back in because it upset me not to give some goodbye kisses to my boy before leaving. They took me back to the kennel area because I wanted to see him before dropping him off. They put him in the kennel without water. I’m assuming they didn’t feed him that night like I asked them to because he had one serving of food left. When my fiancé went to pick him up we had paid for a full day of play and by the way he was running in the back yard when he returned home It appeared as though he had been locked up all day! It is completely out of the norm for him to be full of energy after an hour of play let alone a full day of play. Following his return home he gulped down two bowls of water as soon as he pranced into the house. Overall Ill spend the extra 10 dollars a day to watch him on a monitor to ensure that my baby is being taken care of properly!

APC clients and potential clients,
The below review is in response to Ann’s (the owner of APC) earlier comments to my initial review of APC over a year ago. In Ann’s comments from earlier today (since adapted), she suggested that we were unwilling to pay for a veterinarian and that is the reason for my dog’s death. Like anyone who loves their animals, I quickly responded with the below update to my initial review. Shortly thereafter, I received a notification from Unilocal that Ann has changed her comments. Upon reviewing her latest comments, I see that she has removed her hurtful and insensitive comments. My guess is that the rationale of the «guest didn’t want to pay for veterinarian care», but has $ 13k worth of bills dated just after their visit to APC (which I am happy to post as a photo to my Unilocal account) probably seems slightly hard for most potential clients to believe. So, Ann decided to edit her comments, removing the insensitive comments and for the first time has expressed empathy for me losing my best friend.
Dear Ann:
First of all, welcome to Social Media (1 yr later). One of the things you will learn about social media (and life) is that honesty and genuine remorse are things that others respect, including potential customers and current customers. The fact of the matter is that your company’s actions directly resulted in the death of my best friend who one year later, I still miss everyday. While less important, the other fact is that your recent response to my review of my experience with your business is a completely inaccurate depiction of the events, thereby calling into question my personal integrity (and minimizing the death of my best friend, Alexander the Great Dane). To suggest that you called us 4 times and that we did not want to take him to the vet because of money is ridiculous. Beyond the fact that I asked specifically, «should he go the vet?», why would we tell you we are concerned about money and then proceed to spend over $ 10k cash to save him? Do those actions seem consistent with a person that would worry about the money? With all respect, your response is incorrect, hurtful and disrespectful. Additionally, 8 months after posting my initial review, I received a private Unilocal email from a fellow Unilocal user (user name P.K.); the email is below:
«Mike, I am sorry to hear about your dog. My dog died of the same „twisted stomach“ on Oct 6^th 2013 at advantage pet care. I wonder what is going on over there. i am devastated that this happened and am wondering if this was a coincidence? thats 2 dogs in 2 months…»
Again, my experience with social media (and life) is that people forgive other people who made a mistake, but demonstrate an intention to change and show genuine remorse; lying about the situation is not how you make amends and earn clients’ trust.
Finally, to anyone still reading this review (and considering doing business with Advantage Pet Center), I would like to stress again that I don’t think Ann or anyone there intended to kill my dog, but their poor practices (strenuous exercise too soon after feeding) and lack of a sense of urgency (not taking him to a vet right away) are the reason my dog died; these are undeniable facts. Hopefully, you will find my initial review and this update to be objective and fair. I have taken my baby to almost every groomer in town and always have the same results… either totally wrong cut, she is hurt, or completely traumatized. Finally I decided on advantage and have never been happier! We have gotten exactly what we wanted every time, and Daisy actually loves going! Normally she would tremble and pull away, but not here. She trots right in tail wagging. The staff there is amazing and really do seem to care about all the pets that come in. They are knowledgeable and friendly and make the experience for both of us calm and fun. The best part is they are cheaper than any other groomers too!

I have been taking my two guys here for over a year, both for day care and long stretches for boarding when I travel to asia for work. The staff is always friendly and accommodating, and they show true affection toward my dogs. I have recommended them to a couple friends — one with a dog and one a cat, and both have also had great experiences with boarding and daycare. Excellent facilities and value — the prices are reasonable and the personal attention from the staff with my dogs is invaluable.

I took my son in for the second time he got a the usual full service groom job and flea bath. After picking him up he didn’t seem the normal jolly dog that he always is. He didn’t want to eat and was breathing like a emphysema patient. It was a very scary seen so I called my vet and brought him in. After the vet examined him and x rayed him It was obvious to see water in his lungs smh. I was very upset he was treated and has made a recovery but after almost $ 1100. The following day I got a check up call from the groomer and I informed her that hew was very Ill and she said the owner would call me back. It’s been a week and no call back. This place is very unprofessional and should be reported as such. If you love your pets DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME WITH THESE CLOWNS !!!

We take my German Shepherd here for grooming and baths for the last 3 years now and it has been an overall great experience. The team is friendly and efficient. They know how to take care of my pup. The only issue I have is with the hours for grooming. They do not take appointments on Sunday and since I work during the week, I sometimes have a very narrow window to get him in on a Saturday. Outside that everything else is TOP NOTCH. Highly recommend for bathing, grooming services. I can NOT comment on the boarding services, as I use an independent in home care service for boarding my dog.

I have been using APC for many years now. My older dog has been boarded there for the past 8 – 9 years now and they have been absolutely great. I moved further away 5 years ago but will not take my dogs anywhere else despite having to drive past other kennels on the drive to APC. The owner and staff have always shown the utmost care and love towards the dogs. The last time I was there I boarded my older dog and a young, new adoptee we have that has strong fear of new people. I told the staff about her issues and to be careful she doesn’t bite them out of fear. They spent time with her and made her comfortable, and by the end of the stay she was happy and friendly with them.
My dogs are family to me and I would recommend APC to anyone.
