Margaret Monaco is not only the best realtor in Marin County, she is the most trustworthy, honest and kind person that I feel lucky call a friend of our family.
When my husband and I finally made the decision to purchase a home in Marin, we started our search in the town we had been renting in — Larkspur/​Corte Madera. The market was, and still is, completely insane. With Margaret’s expertise, she guided us through the harrowing process of finding a loan specialist, putting together a realistic budget, and taking us on many home tours. We made offers that we were overbid on. We were accepted on offers on homes that needed way too much work to be livable. We spent over a year getting beat up my all cash offering home buyers. Through this emotional process, Margaret always kept us positive. She would tell us «this just wasn’t the home for your family.»
We finally decided to broaden our search to include San Anselmo and Fairfax. We found a lovely historic home in Fairfax that provided everything we had been searching for. Although it meant we had to change school districts, we knew we found a town and a neighborhood that offered everything we needed. Unfortunately, the owners of the listed home were not quite ready to move on. We went back and forth with offers, and counter offers for months. We finally decided to walk away from the deal. Margaret has such an incredible amount of respect from all of the agents in the area. She worked very hard to make sure we did everything we could to buy the home. In the end, and a few months later, the family realized that our offer was the strongest, and that they were ready to sell. We went into escrow, and the rest is history.
It’s not often you get truly excited about your real estate agent. Even more rare when you have such a wonderful personal experience that this person becomes a special friend. With Margaret, you get the whole package!
