Acueducto Mexican Grill

My Mexicano buddy wanted to try this place since it was around his hood, so we hit it up a couple nights ago before our movie date. It’s a little hard to find at night, but it’s NW corner of Lake Mead and Torrey Pines. Same strip mall as Chase but a little more west.
Acueducto is a cross between a fast food joint and restaurant. The menu is presented behind the counter and also available if you want sit down service. Our server had an ear piece that i think was use for the drive-​thru. She was nice and attentive but we were 1 of 2 party in the whole place. They have Horchatas here. Tortilla chips were accompany by salsa and bean dip. Yay for freebie
My buddy order his Adobada tacos and a taco salad with Carne Asada. I had a bite of his Adobada and it taste like it was just pan fried. The Carne Asada used was better quality than your typical Roberto’s. In fact all the ingredients here were fresher and better minus the lettuce they offer. They, however, were a bit aged.
For myself i had an order of Quesadillas De Harina (Flour) and that was OK. This was something i could have made at home easily. Nothing special. It came with sour cream and avocado.
The highlight of our meal was the Pollo Sarandeado recommended by our server. It’s basically chicken with mayo, salsa sauce. It was pretty darn good. The combo came with Spanish rice, re-​fried bean dip with cheese, and your choice of flour or corn tortillas. For $ 6.95 that’s a steal.
Overall i think this place is OK. I much rather drive across town to you know where to get my Mexican fix but it wouldn’t hurt to try this place if you don’t feel like driving to the East side.

Not a bad little place. Friendly staff, good sized menu. Not anything particularly GREAT about it, but certainly nothing bad. Very clean and comfy counter service Mexican food joint. ‘Nuff said.
