I was in a bind because I had a gig on Friday and my main bass amp’s(GK1001RB) power transistors had failed the previous Sunday at practice. I went to Jim and he diagnosed my amp for free! I knew I wasn’t going to be able to get anything fixed before the gig so he offered to loan me an amp! He ended up making me a SCREAMING deal on a used Eden stack that I’ve now fallen in love with. It was so cheap he made me agree not to tell anyone the price. Thanks, Advanced Guitar!

Amazing work, time after time, I have taken my instruments to Advanced Guitar and the staff and owner have always been great. I have over 32 guitars and after going thru most everyone in las vegas reputable, I landed on jims door step pleading for help with a few real problem child guitars, Impossible fixes made possible by Jim and Billy(RIP he now works for Circe Du Soile… lol) 90% of the time jim nails it on the first fun sometimes things still need a little more tweaking but He always supports his work and always comes thru with flying colors. Thanks Jim and Advanced Guitar for Keeping my instruments on Stage and performing like a pro. Bruce Sneath

I’m giving this shop 3 stars because they got the job done, but that’s the only reason and here’s why. I found this shop in the Y pages and thought I would check it out cause I needed my guitar repaired. I went in dropped off my guitar was quoted $ 200 and about 1.5 — 2 weeks for the job to get done. I called 1−½ weeks later and the guy told me it would be done by the end of the week. I waited for a call never got one thought maybe I should call the following week. I waited an extra week and few more days then I called and the guitar was still not done. Basically this whole scenario went on for 1−½ months. I called again at the end of the 1−½ months and he said to pick it up. When I got there I played my guitar and it was still not quite right so he kept the guitar for an additional 2 weeks totaling a 2 month job instead of a 2 week job. When I called him previously to the second time I had to leave my guitar there I felt as if he was not being completely honest with me about why it was talking so long. Anywho, I’ve been playing my guitar for about 2 months now after the repair and it seems to be fine. I’m glad it got fixed, but will not be coming back for anymore repairs because of the lack of professionalism, communication and all around work.

A fantastic shop! Besides the vintage guitars and amps for sale, the staff are friendly and skilled luthiers. I’ve been there numerous times and they’ve assisted me with everything from a quick string purchase to setting up new guitars. Fine, fine independent shop in a world dominated by chains.
