Al Phillips The Cleaner

These are the highest dry cleaning rates in any of the major cities I have ever lived. Further, on a day I needed one day turn around I brought my dry cleaning in at 8:57 am and was sharply advised I was «cutting it close» given serious attitude by the manager Angie.
Okay fine, but then $ 12 to clean a sport coat with semi wrinkles left in the arms? Nearly $ 5 for a polo? Are you serious. How can they charge $ four Seasons hotel pricing at a neighborhood dry cleaner? I’m embarrassed and shocked and never coming back. Membership comes with its privileges — high prices.
Guys, this place is not worth those kinds of prices. All other staff are nice but all agree, they over charge.

I just started using them about a month ago. Joined the club membership thingy they have for like $ 30 a year. I get 20% off everything I take there. I also get a bag where I can just drop off my load on the desk and walk out. They also have same day service.

Upon entering the shop today I was asked to move my car for the delivery driver who had also just arrived to drop off his three bundles of items. There was plenty of room for both of us in the short term parking spot but apparently employees take priority over paying customers with memberships. Really?

I wish that I would have read the reviews before coming here. I don’t ever use dry cleaner only cuz I don’t own things that need to be dry cleaned. Well I have this very pretty white shirt that I was afraid of would ruin in getting some make — up out of it. Two little spots. Honestly I think they just charged me and did nothing becuase they are still there even after I was told they spot treated. So since this is not a dry clean only item I decided I would attempt it at home. Everything came right out and I didn’t ruin the shirt. Lesson learned…

I went in to get my dress hemmed to a tea length, cleaned and steamed. The woman who is working right now was not helpful at all in measuring my hem for me. She rushed me to figure it out myself. Also there was no full length mirror. Never had such a hard time getting a garment hemmed. Ridiculous. I walked out.

I normally go to Tide Dry cleaners and it was closed Sunday. I lost track of time and needed to find a dry cleaner as soon as possible because of traveling. I looked on Google and found Al Phillips was closer and open. I hurried and got there 5 minutes before closing. The cashier looked at me and gave a rude look and shut her cash drawer. There was a gentleman in there who she was chatting with when I arrived and I guess I interrupted by dropping of work. I asked her am I too late? She did not say no but angrily said well I gotta take you. I then repeated well am I to late. She repeated I have to take you. She was so rude and disrespectful. I said wow your so happy and she then replied sarcastically because I am. If I wasn’t so desperate I would of left. I pick up my 11 pieces of clothing this evening. I thought a customer should feel welcomed and business wanted their business… this was not the case at this dry cleaner.

I received a message from the owner and they addressed my concerns above and apologized for my treatment. This says a lot for a business to take a complaint and turn it in to a lessons learned. I will try them again and I am impressed by the quick response and message.

I’m never bringing in my laundry to this place again. The sales assistant was rude and slow. She took 10 minutes to bring out my laundry — she fiddled around with a bunch of stuff before helping me. I brought in a coupon for dry cleaning and it was only applied for 1 out of 7 items. When I asked for the discount to be applied correct she said «I can’t do anything because you just did this I. e I paid». When I asked what’s going to happen, she said «you will get talked to tomorrow.» ??? Al Philips is already expensive and one would expect great service but they suck. I hope everyone is aware and boycotts them! Worst service ever.

Not impressed with this place. The cleaners I normally go to was going to take a while and I needed my dry cleaning done quicker so I came here. The person who helped me was a bit rude to start.
When I picked my clothes up and paid, they charged me more than twice what my normal cleaner charges, but I was willing to pay because I needed my stuff done quickly.
My white shirts were supposed to be laundered and pressed. When I took them out of the bag I almost couldn’t tell them apart from the dirty ones. They did not look very clean, and the «press» actually pressed wrinkles into them!
A few people from my work have used them and they shirts also look terrible, hardly clean looking with multiple creases done the sleeves.
I would not recommend this place unless you value speed over quality, and are willing to pay extra for it.

Two or three days after I posted my initial review a representative from the company called me to talk about my experience. She apologized, and informed me that they would be sending me a refund card. I told her it was not necessary, I greatly appreciated it. The card arrived within a week, and happened to be for more than the initial charge. I am really impressed with this gesture; it’s rare that businesses go out of their way to do that, and lose potential profit.
When I had items to be cleaned I brought them in, and the dresses looked great! They really lived up to the reputation they have as being the best. I spend a lot on the clothing I have, so I’m glad that my initial experience was a fluke, and I can bring them here and not have to worry that my clothing will be ruined like at a cheap cleaner.

Never use this place! They lost my suit and then just shrugged their shoulders and told me there was nothing they could do. I asked to speak to the manager, the girl working there got her on the phone and the manager just told her it was lost and that she didn’t want to speak to me.

I will never do business with this people and its sad because their just down the street from me. I own a grooming salon and have been taking our towels and pet beds/​blankets to the cleaners in our shopping center but they closed their doors last year. I called this place up and asked him if they could just do a wash and dry (nothing fancy) for these type of items. The Manager said not a problem and told me it was $ 1.75/pound.
I brought them 4 large trash bags full of stuff. The manager proceeded to tell me that the blankets would be $ 27 each to wash! Wait… what?! She had told me $ 1.75/pound.
They should really be up front and honest with people when they call. The towels and bed and blankets can be washed together. Theres no need to pretty them up.
Oh, and they send everything out. They dont have their own machine. Also very inconvenient.

The great thing about Al Phillips is that the store itself is always very clean and well-​maintained, the staff are always friendly, and the service is timely.
Now, the last time I took my suit there, I did get it back with a bit of lint. I also had them make a few alterations, one of which was to remove the belt loops of my pants (For button suspenders), which they forgot to do. Now, these things do happen, I’m sure it was just human error, and overall, it hasn’t detracted from the usually very good service that I have received here.
They’re not the cheapest cleaners in town, but you do get your money’s worth with them in terms of cleanliness, punctuality, and service.

I always receive great service here. No complaints at all.

Al Philips is a well known chain here in town and this store is no exception to the rest. You walk inside and it’s very organized and well maintained. This Al Philips is in the back end of the Smith’s shopping center so it’s hard to find, but a gem of a store.
