Allstate Insurance: David McArthy

I have an auto and homeowners policy with David Mcarthy and Mark Elkind. Due to their experience and guidance I received exactly the coverage that I needed at a much lower rate than their competitors. The customer service here is much appreciated.

I have been with this agency for over 2 years now. I have an auto policy, used to have a renter’s policy and now have a homeowner’s policy with them. Both David McArthy and Mark Elkind are always available to answer any questions I may have. They have been fantastic! Some time ago my car was hit while parked in a parking lot and this agency handled all of my concerns immediately! My premiums are very good compared to quotes I have received in the past from other agencies. I would HIGHLY recommend the David McArthy Allstate agency!

if I could rate this a zero I would. I was referred to this agent because Allstate had a better quote than what my typical agent could offer. When I called the office to let them know I had faxed my information over the woman on the phone gave me an extreme attitude, as if I was interrupting her from her job. I had called the associate that was handling my policy several times and it was like pulling teeth to get him to respond. Finally, he got my policy going and i had home insurance. I gave them my mortgage information as they had requested and I went about my business. A couple months later I got a letter from them stating I needed to make a payment for the policy. I was confused so I called the office and they told me my policy was about to cancel because of lack of payment. What happened was the associate who was handling my case left and no one took over my account, so my policy never got paid by my mortgage company. I called and spoke to this associate on June 8^th and he told me he’d take care of it. OK. June 23^rd I followed up with an email to make sure everything was on the straight and narrow and I never heard anything about it. I figured everything was alright. Fast forward to this week… i am in the middle of a refinance and my loan officer said they are waiting on my insurance agent. i decided to call. Apparently, my policy had been cancelled June 8^th, the day I had spoken to the associate. So, I have been without coverage for 3 months. I never received anything from Allstate letting me know my policy was cancelled. I am surprised they didn’t call me to let me know so they could at least get my business back… no nothing. I was forgotten. I called the office, both locations, looking to speak to the actual agent. I have never actually had the option to speak to David, ever. He is never in his office and doesn’t respond to calls or calls back when I call. I called this morning to check on my policy. This morning they said he was still re writing the cancelled policy… how long does it take??? Anyways they told me to give me an hour and call back. At this point I emailed my old agent and she had me a new policy written and delivered in 30 minutes. I decided to still call back to speak to David. He’s with a client. ok, that seemed a bit weird considering I was told he’d call me in an hour about my policy. He will call you when he’s done. 2.5 hours have gone by and I call again. The associate on the phone has no idea what I’m talking about. He had me on hold for 10 minutes while he looked for David. No David. Even called his emergency line. This guys is apparently busier than the president. Anyways… still waiting for that call. I wouldnt suggest this place even if it was the only agency that would offer you insurance. He apparently is the only licensed agent at both of his locations and he is clearly overwhelmed. His staff is rude and it all seems mismanaged. Do not shop for insurance here.
