Another Wild Hair

This review is based solely on my negative customer experience, or lack there of, with AWH. I was never able to contact them to even experience their services. I had been researching hair and makeup services for my wedding for quite a while and had decided I wanted to book with AWH. I had shown my bridal party their website, budgeted for their pricing, and oohed and ahhed over their before and after pictures. As soon a I was ready to book with them I emailed them on a Thursday asking for a total pricing for my party and the date I needed and asked them what time I should book to be ready in time for ceremony. I never received an email back from them. So Saturday I thought I would try again. I called their number and got no answer. Later that day I went on their website & clicked on one of their options which was to receive a call from them. I picked the 6:30pm time to be called and immediately received an automated email saying someone would call me at 6:30pm. I sat and waited and no one called me. I decided to move on. I researched other companies but kept coming back to them. Nothing to me was in comparison. So I thought maybe they were very busy and I would reach out one more time. The following Tuesday I called their number again. Left a voice mail, and received no call back again. The next day, Wednesday morning, I decided to go through their formal process on their website to book an appointment (even though I was waiting on questions to be answered from the first email before I did this). I picked the time and date (which said they were available) and received another automated email right away saying they had received my appointment request for my bridal party hair and makeup and would contact me shortly. It is now Thursday and I have received no word from them besides the two automated emails. 7 whole days and no word from an established, prestigious hair and makeup company; what terrible service! How could you not contact a customer that wants to hire your business especially when time is of the essence to book up an artist for an upcoming wedding. I continuously checked my spam folder in my email and my voice mail thinking I missed a call from them because I couldn’t believe this was happening. How could you miss 2 calls, 1 voice mail and 2 emails from me? If their customer service is this horrible to the point where they blatantly ignore their customers why would I even trust them with the biggest day of my life. I hope who ever was able to actually get a hold of them to book their services was happy because I will never know. They lost hundreds of dollars in revenue from me. I ended up booking with another artist whom called me within 2 hours of my first email to her.

Don’t even bother. I was drawn in by their «hot deal» that was a cut and color for $ 75. I paid double that. It is an unbelievably unprofessional atmosphere. Stylist were running around on their phones, inappropriately gossiping, and taking illegal (420) smoke breaks. They didn’t even try to hide it. The place is a mess as well. Dust was layered on everything, and I mean almost a centimeter of it. The tiles below the sinks were falling off and apart. All this, plus the horrible hair job. Anyone who gives this place a good review has no idea what they want or are doing. I knew what I wanted when I walked in and made it clear to my stylist ‘Tina’ who not only ignored what I wanted when I explained, but ignored me during the cut as well. She managed to double book my appointment time so she was juggling me and another client. While I was only to be under the dryer for 10 minutes, she got caught up and let me sit for 35. I told her I did not want to turn out beach blonde. That’s what I wanted to avoid more than anything. I’m a dirty blonde so I asked for that. I didn’t want my roots to show and have to have this redone. But guess what I got? Beach blonde hair. She tried to assure me that she made the top lighter so when it grows out, no roots will show. The opposite of what I KNEW and did happen. A month later and there is now 3 tones in my hair. My roots, the light (almost white) top she did, and the darker ends. Makes no sense. Also, when it came to the cut, I might as well of taken over. She refused to do as I asked. I ended up fixing it once I got home. This 2 hour appointment turned into 4 ½ hours and left extremely upset and paying extra.
PLEASE do not give them any more business. They do not deserve to even have any customers with how they treat them and they run the place.

I had my hair shampooed, blow dried and styled earlier today and Teven did a wonderful job. He greeted me at the desk and offered me a beverage before he moved me to his chair. He was very thorough when he was shampooing my long tangled hair and after the condi it was easy for him to brush it. The curls turned out great and it really holds without using a lot of finishing spray. Thank you!

Worst haircut of my life! The sugar scrub was great, the atmosphere was relaxing, but I’m stuck in a hat for the next 3 months. The girl girl cut my bangs from temple to temple and I look ridiculous! Beware of cheap hair cuts!!!

My mom donated her hair and we wanted to try out this place. The staff was nice and my mom’s haircut was free. It turned out really nice and I can’t complain. #locksoflove

This place supports locks of love. I got my hair cut for free with the donation of 20 inches of hair. I had Chris and he is awesome. Never had my hair cut short before but he made me feel confident. Thank u Chris

I am so happy to get my hair done by Jaime! I gave him some very specific details, and he exceeded my expectations. He is very friendly and is good at getting a sense of your needs.
I was so thrilled about how beautiful my hair was. I have gotten numerous compliments on my hair, and I should clarify that my hair is not the most simple to process. I am bi-​racial… half-​Asian, half-​white, and I have past experiences where there was too much bleach, and it fried my hair. Or where there was not enough bleach or peroxide, and the highlights looked brassy. He nailed my highlight color with no toner and no damage. It gave my hair a very natural sun-​kissed effect and made me look younger than my age (in a good way).
He also cut my hair upon my request in an angled bob which is one of the most challenging cuts. I have had my hair cut by many people over the years (even spending as much as a $ 100 once on a cut), and he is definitely one of the best! Go see Jaime! He definitely lives up to his «Master Stylist» reputation! You won’t be disappointed!

So this is an update from my previous review in that Awh contacted me in regards to my experience. First star, amazing customer service to contact a customer after their bad experience and offer their services. I personally believe in second chances. So I read some more reviews and it seemed as though Chris was the only one that was mentioned so I called to schedule an appointment. I guess when I called it was the week he was out of town.
Anyways I called back and scheduled a same day appointment. The salon called him and asked him to come in early for me! Second star. I hate appointments and 75% of the time I miss appointments.
When I walked in I was instantly greeted by him. 3^rd star, he took me back asked me how I wanted my hair and started the service !
While I was getting my hair washed, he asked me if I wanted a hot towel over my face. 4^th star this place is like a mini spa and hair salon!
Anyways I got my hair cut and a great conversation later he started to dry my hair with these really cool brushes that I posted a picture of. I didn’t know what they were going to do but vualah!!! Amazing results.
Just from this experience alone with Chris I want to get my hair cut and styled by him !!

My daughter likes to go to this saloon to get her hair cut. I guess she is happy with the stylist. My complaint is about their false advertising. They sell deals on Groupon and then they do not want to honor them. They said only certain stylists honor the Groupon. They should disclose that information before they make the sale. They make it impossible to use the groupon.
I rarely say this, but I do not recommend that anyone comes to this salon. Shady!

According to my wife: «I can’t even begin to express how amazing Another Wild Hair is. I got hair extensions by the amazing Cece in preparation for my wedding. Cece did an amazing job and at a reasonable price. She warned me of all the possible downfalls of having hair extensions and she was right on all counts! I really appreciated her honesty and it made me feel like I could really trust her.
I booked them months ago for my wedding and Amber, the person in charge of weddings, was great. Everything she promised me was done. I had booked 6 stylists to come to my hotel room from 10:30am until 2:30pm to do hair & makeup on a total of 13 girls (bride, 6 bridesmaids, 2 mothers, 4 flower girls). They arrived right on time and not a minute late, which could always be never-​wracking on your wedding day! Not only that, but they did a fantastic job! Every girl in the party was extremely pleased with their hair & makeup. They even finished on time!

I have found my new salon for as long as my stylist stays here!
I recently had a very bad experience at another salon in which my hair came out stop-​sign red and three inches shorter than it was supposed to. I gave myself a day to melt-​down and mourn my long brunette hair and then decided that there was nothing I could do and to just accept my new horrible look. My best friend/​roommate had other ideas.
Early Sunday morning, she began to call around the area and managed to reach somebody at this salon. They could tell that she was a bit panicked (her hair had been similarly screwed up at the same salon previously) and managed to not only call a girl in on her day off to help us, but they pushed another appointment to the following day so they could fit us in.
I cannot begin to explain how grateful I am to this salon. My gal was very calm with me and showed me the color that would fix what had been done. She also went over products and techniques to keep the color vibrant for as long as possible.
I highly recommend this salon!

We arrived in Vegas not knowing what to expect…
Being from a smaller town, we wanted the grand Vegas experience, so we decided to get married there! My fiancé at the time found another wild hair online-​she got her hair and makeup there, and they made my wife look amazing! They had a great staff and tended to my wife’s every need. Amazing experience.

Jamie is awesome. I seriously haven’t ever felt as good about my hair as when Jamie cleans me up. I am a hat wearer and am never happy with my hair except when I leave his chair. He has a keen eye for what he does and truly cares how you feel when all is done. Thank you Jamie.

I’ve followed Santina from two other salons and Another Wild Hair is my favorite. The people who work here are friendly and down to earth, while Santina does wonders with a blow dryer and a hairbrush. To quote Amy Winehouse, «My hair is always on point, even if the rest of me is really naff.»

The salon is a little dated but the staff were very friendly and I love my haircut! Will definitely come back!

The stylist that cut my hair was a complete disaster! I’ve decided not to mention her name. Consider this a courtesy. If you’re going to AWH and want to know her name, please feel free to ask me.
This woman didn’t know a single thing about cutting hair. She also has a problem with listening to what her client wants, versus what she assumes they want. She had a horrible attitude and a major problem with overcompensating and exaggerating her «skills». Most stylists are friendly to new clients, but she was cocky and rude. Right away, she was trying to promote herself to me and had an attitude about it. The whole experience with her felt impersonal and rushed. The whole time, she was more concerned with being in control of my hair as a «professional stylist», rather than what I wanted done as HER client. I tried to tell her several times what I wanted, but she kept reassuring me that she knew what she was doing. I gave her the benefit of the doubt, and it screwed me over BIG TIME.
The Groupon deal I had came with a free sugar scrub and massage. The massage was mediocre, lasting only 10 minutes. Don’t expect more because she doesn’t specialize in massages. She told me she was the ONLY stylist at AWH that did these massages. At first, I believed her. But while waiting on my deep conditioning, I went on Unilocal to read some reviews. Apparently, there are other stylists at the salon that also do the same massages she claimed only she did. The bad feeling I had from the start only got worse from there.
The result of my hair cut was NOTHING like what I asked for. All I wanted was a trim to define the layers on my ALREADY layered hair, particularly the ones that framed my face. It should’ve been a simple hair cut, but instead, she butchered it. By the time she was done, I lost all of my layers and my hair was pretty much a choppy, uneven mess. From the back, my hair was completely straight across (it used to be tapered in a V shape). I had no framing layers in the front, but instead, a whole bunch of uneven strands on both sides. There were no defined layers left from any angle. She took off 4 – 5 inches of my hair, not 1 – 2 inches like she said she would. The worse part about the cut was when she took out a razor and used it on my THIN Asian hair. The way she used the razor made the whole cut extremely frizzy and blunt. The worse part was my bangs. I wanted my bangs to go smoothly in a side sweep, blending into the layers. Instead, it was uneven strands of short hair that went up to a little below my brows. I watched her in horror literally take the razor, grab a bunch of hair at random sections and just kept slicing it at an angle any where she felt like. There was no structure to the way she cut it. She was all over the place. Whenever she felt like one side was longer than the other, she would fix it but cutting it even more. Throughout the cut, she kept telling me how good it would look after she was done. At that point it was nothing but sugar coating because she was sloppy and seemed extremely nervous from the tension that was apparent on my face. Plus she kept saying things like «There, this looks much better» to herself like she was convincing herself that it would turn out ok. Those were not the most reassuring things I wanted to hear from my stylist. Most stylists cut hair from the back, but she stood in the front. Instead of moving the chair, she moved herself, stepping over my leg each time. Every time she did that, she would brush the wrap that she had over me to the side and then hair would get all over my leggings. I didn’t noticed it until I got up, but my legging was covered with my hair.
In the end, I knew she realized she made mistakes because her attitude became overly sweet. She kept trying to reassure me that my hair was beautiful and how soft it was after the treatment was done. It was like she actually thought sweet talking would steer the attention away from her mistakes. She butchered it, and everyone I spoke to afterwards noticed it.
What made me more upset was that she didn’t have the professional courtesy to ask me whether or not I needed anything fixed. It felt like she tried to sweet talk me into leaving the salon without causing a scene. Before I left, she even asked me for a hug and then tried to schedule my next appointment. I couldn’t believe her! At the register, she even had the nerves to try and sale me products she used on my hair, stating that the salon only carried it twice a year.
I went on AWH website and saw their master stylists. Her name and picture was no where on it. She let it slip during the cut that she rented a station at AWH, therefore, her claim about being with the salon for over 20 years is very questionable. AWH should be more careful w/​who they let rent there. Had I not known she isn’t a featured stylist of the salon, I would’ve assumed everyone there is just as bad as hers.

I was completely satisfied with my experience. Sharon, the owner, is very courteous and friendly. She makes sure that her stylist know exactly what I wanted. She followed up during and after my coloring, highlights, cut and style to make sure I was happy with the service.
CC is very knowledgeable in her color and highlight. I absolutely loved the wash and head massage with the sugar scrub that is all natural. Taking her time to discuss my color and highlights, CC was extremely fast in during the process and made sure I was comfortable. Styling my hair, she did a great job.
I highly recommend Another Wild Hair and will be returning on a regular basis.

I have a conflicting work schedule so I always go towards businesses that are more flexible with their operating hours as well.
I was scheduled with Britney W. I was happy because she came in on her day off to do my hair, cut and highlights. We’re off to a good start. You could never go wrong with a stylist that accommodates her clients needs.
Now off to my hair, it was completely fried at the ends from all the heat damage I make it go through, I already knew that a lot would have to come off, but I was okay with the, she worked with my hair so that not too much would have to come off. I was really pleased with the outcome. It was time for some change and she threw in some highlights, my hair looks fantastic, it was a good change!
I will be a returning client. Friendly staff and great stylists, what more do you want?

So I bought a groupon and they were able to see me right away. I sat down and was really excited for this deal. Long story short 20 minutes later my head looked un-​proportional. So I asked the lady to make some minor adjustments which turned out to be very unsuccessful. They only option, which remained was a buzz cut to save myself. So I honestly believe it was my fault which caused the buzz. SO went home somewhat disappointed but didnt really mind it until this morning!
I just took a shower and I see hairs sticking out. I should have just walked out and did it myself. I dont think a buzz cut would be this complicated.
p.s my girlfriend comes to town next week. Lets hope I wont be single.

I know nothing about salon in Las vegas, so i open up my groupon and look for a good salon. I saw this salon with Paul Mitchell product, wow! I bought it and make appointment.
I call in to make appointment and make sure that all the sylist are taking groupon. I tell the receptionist that I want my certain stylist. First I look for CC, my friend’s mom recommend me to her. the receptionist say that CC was out and she will come back end of June. and I say, ok. Then I asked for another stylist, Chris. She said he is available.
At the day of my trimming hair, I come in. Its a little early than the time of my appointment, so I just wait after I check in and redeem my groupon. There is another client at the waiting room. Not so long after I sat down, a stylist come over and approach the other client, I was look down reading a magazine. I heard, HAI, I AM CC, THANK YOU FOR WAITING. I right away look at her.
Not so long after that, Chris approach me. I have no complain about Chris service to me even-​though he hand me over to another stylist to wash my hair, cos he want me to get a fast service and not waiting too long. He cut my hair as I wanted. I love him, I will come back to him If I need another trimming.
as of for the receptionist, DONT LIE!!! no body like it. If CC doesnt take any groupon, just let the client know. We will understand!!! You make this salon down!!!
