Antique Oriental Rugs Center (AORC) has been in the oriental rugs business for many generations. It has been a proud tradition, shared within the family.

Meet the Business Owner

Sarkis T.

Business Owner

My name is Sarkis Tabakian, and I am the proud owner of Antique Oriental Rugs Center (AORC). I was fortunate enough to be born into a family which has a long tradition of weaving and caring for antique oriental rugs.

Several works of art created by my parents using rug weaving techniques are on display in museums around the world. My father was an oriental rug and carpet designer and my mother wove rugs. As a child I learned how my parents dyed the wool and prepared the designs and colors for each rug.

By the time I was eighteen years old, I was already working in an oriental rug store cleaning and repairing rugs. In 1976, I started my own business, Antique Oriental Rugs Center, in Los Angeles, CA. For many years I focused on rug cleaning and repairs. Our company has done countless repairs and cleaning for a wide range of clients.

In 1996, we moved to Las Vegas, Nevada (where we currently operate) and continued our professional services, caring for our clients oriental rug needs.
