They have the most helpful and friendly therapist here. They answer all questions in a professional way. The equipment is in good condition and is always being cleaned. I would definitely recommend this place for your therapy needs. Great job Ben, Nic, Juan and Nicole.

Obviously undertrained and ill equipped. Gave me a list of exercises to do that I have already been doing for a year. Told me when I can bend my leg call them back. Last place I went to when I had company insurance did manual manipulation and electric stimulation thst woke my leg up. Unfortunately they are not on the medicaid provider list. Guess they dont have proper equipment here to continue

Both Brenda and Nada were very professional on the telephone scheduling my required Workers Compensation appointment on Monday ⁷⁄₂₀^th for an FCE (functional capacity
exam) to measure possible work disability due to a work related accident I sustained on a construction site that required a complicated surgery.
The FCE is not available in most workers comp cases because most people are not as badly injured as I was, and therefore are able to return to work for full duty despite their partially being disabled. Very few PT offices in Las Vegas are approved by insurance companies to offer an FCE and Matt Smith PT was the chosen approved facility.
This Matt Smith PT office located on W. Charleston near Valley View was a clean facility with friendly uniformed employees, plenty of PT equipment, and a backroom specifically designed for FCE testing.
The Physical Therapist, Doug Ellis-​Director of Industrial Medicine Program, who specializes in industrial/​workers comp claims, offered me a professional consultation before and after the tests. Doug was very clear on what we were to accomplish and was very patient with me completing a series of physical tests that were very challenging.
At the end of my appointment, Doug compared the job description provided to their office and my test results and told me that I am not physically able to fulfill the job requirements anymore. In other words, I failed my tests of strength, coordination and endurance to work on construction sites. He stated that he saw no inconsistencies during our grueling 3 hours together and that it is hopefully a matter of time and continued PT exercises that will assist me to a better recovery.
I found this office to be very professional, well equipped and under the circumstances; a medically necessary experience. If anybody is in need of an FCE, I highly recommend this office and Doug Ellis as the Physical Therapist.
Unilocal 300 CHALLENGE 2015: #264

Looks to be recently remodeled, all wood floors, new looking equipment, hubby just started his PT here last week. One minute from our house here in the Alta Loop/​Medical District I was happy to find a great PT for my husband. He goes 3 – 4 times a week so it being near our house is a blessing.
Located in next to an Orthopaedic Specialists of Nevada group this PT was recommended via Dr. Ricciardi and after doing some research, I can see why.
All the employees are super nice and my husband is very happy with the sessions so far.
I will try to get a picture but there are always people doing therapy and I don’t want to disturb.
Not sure about billing because our insurance covers all of his visits for the next few months. If we do have to pay or get billed I will update.
Scheduling is easy, but we have open schedules, not sure how flexible they are. Just make sure you schedule out a week in advance to help yourself and them!
My only complaint is the waiting area is small for patients helpers to wait, maybe expand the area and add more chairs. They should have realized that most of these people can not drive themselves here so there are going to be people waiting, no biggie, just don’t forget your book sit and relax.
The parking lot is a hot mess and there are only two! handicap parking spots so I think they need to improve on that also :)
Learning how to walk again on his «remodeled foot» looks like it will be an easy road to recovery :)

It’s my first time with PT; luckily it’s only one thumb on one hand.
Having said that, I can only tell you what to expect in my experience here.
The place seems a little ghetto/​run down… has old equipment… even one of the therapy pieces I use looks handmade, but it works.
Process goes:
1^st visit, you may wait a minute while they prep your papers, so arrive 30min early to fill it out. Sign your name next to your printed name. Depending on how behind they are, you may be sitting a while, so score an early morning appt if possible.
Evaluation-​I had to squeeze 2 devices with each hand to measure «normal» and «the strength in the broken hand». They ask a bunch of questions regarding the before and after of the injury. After that I had two people alternating giving me different little apparatuses to work on with my thumb and an egg timer to do each one. At the end is the hardest part, where one of them holds your hand firmly and tries bending the stiff joint where it won’t go… and nobody looks happy at this table while we’re all doing these, but we’re getting well together:) I got sent home with clear instructions for exercising and binding my hand at home.
2^nd visit+: I sign in and walk straight back to my hand therapy table area. This time they set all the things in front of me and ask if I remember how, I do, and am outta there in an hour.
They definitely have it together and the staff that has worked on me/​with me really cares.
I really don’t mind going in, it’s like the gym you HAVE to go to, if you want to move again.
