Boulders at Lone Mountain,

I have been here with my wife for just under a year now. We’d rather be homeless.
First, the front office, there has not been a day where something hasn’t worked. Our microwave was manufactured 26 years ago same with the oven and the refrigerator. Those were the replacements they gave us from the garage they kept them in. We have a sever bug problem which I have asked and asked over and over again to be taken care of and they refuse to comply. They never and I mean NEVER «cater» to the residence and they advertise. We were told that when moved into my our bottom floor apartment the walls were «condo-​spec» and it would be always peaceful. NOPE! FALSE! WRONG! Each tenant above us has been moved out due to us complaining because the front office thinks it okay to put Godzilla above us who fornicates constantly and I HAVE TO HEAR THAT EVERY MORNING!!! They are never ever ever ever nice or compliant or even smile. I mean for goodness sakes… SMILE!!!
Secondly, the parking. do not get me started on this poor excuse of garbage. I’ve LITERALLY had death threats written on my car for parking in a covered spot. Mind you parking is «free for all». Nothing is assigned. My life has been threatened over a parking spot. I informed the front office of this and they did NOTHING!!! I live in constant fear here. Security?!? What security!!! People walk up to our bay window and just look in as if it’s okay!!!
By law if the property is evaluating inspections they are SUPPOSED TO GIVE 24 HOUR NOTICE!!! You guess it, nope. «Maintanence and property owners literally did not announce themselves and walked in on my undressed wife. And I spoke with the front office and they DEEMED ME AT FAULT!!!
Third, maintainence. HAHAHAHAA are you serious??? They picked up some Mexicans from Home Depot and said «okay go for it». No one spoke a word of English. No one got anything fixed. My sink, broken. My fridge, broken. My dryer, broken. My sink in the master, broken. My shower door, broken. Did they come to fix, nope.
All in all, I’d honestly have a really bad cocaine addiction than live here. If you’re considering living here… Go down to your nearest 7 – 11, find their dumpster and boom you have something much better than this place.

I lived here for 3 years now. The only reason I stayed is because I have a big dog and they’re one of the few apartment complexes that allow this. Through my 3 years I have been blocked in by maintenance workers several times making me late for work. There has been times where they will argue directly with me and stay parked behind me. If you need something fixed forget it. I waited weeks to get things fixed. Then they do a crappy job and it just breaks again. I have never seen such disregard for a tenant who pays the over priced rent loyally.

I have lived in the Boulder’s for 2 months now and it has been great. I moved from out of town and did not see the complex or my apartment before moving in. The office staff was very helpful and had my lease and everything set up for me when I arrived. I was very happy with my apartment when I did finally see it. The apartment was redone after the previous tenant moved out and it has hardwood floors throughout the kitchen, living room, and bathrooms. The bedrooms have carpet. All new appliances in the kitchen.
There were still a few minor issues that needed to be address and every time I have told the office about a maintenance issue they have a maintenance person there that day if not within the hour. I had a leak from a clogged sink and the maintenance man showed up in 10 minutes. Every maintenance issue that I have had has been resolved very quickly and the office always follows up with me to make sure it was resolved.
The best thing about the Boulders is that they are very pet friendly. Every time I go to the office I take my 2 dogs with me and all of the office staff play with them and they have a big jar full of treats for the dogs. The office staff are very friendly and are interested in talking to you and getting to know you. I am greeted by name every time I go in and they know my dogs names as well.
I love that the complex has more than just 1 pool. There is one right by my apartment so I don’t have to walk all the way to the main pool by the office. The pool area is always clean and they just bought all new pool furniture. The only thing I wish they would change about the pool is allowing dogs in the pool area. All of my neighbors have dogs and I think we would all like to be able to take our dogs to the pool with us.
All of my neighbors are very nice and friendly. I recently got new neighbors upstairs who are very loud. I talked to someone in the office about it and they notified the new neighbors on the spot. Whenever there is an issue they always tell me when it will be resolved by which is great.
There is plenty of parking but covered parking spaces are not assigned. Everyone is given a tag to place in their window. If you don’t have one you aren’t supposed to park under covered parking. I never have a problem finding a place to park close to my apartment but I do notice a lot of cars parked under covered parking without the tag. There are also a few people with motorcycles that take up the closest parking spaces and leave their motorcycles in the same parking space for days or weeks without moving it and they don’t have the tag. I would like to see the parking situation monitored more effectively.
The grounds are very well maintained. The grass is mowed frequently and I always see landscapers around the complex. The complex is very conveniently located. The 215 is right up the road. There are a lot of restaurants and fast food places very close and a walmart neighborhood market right up the road. Very close to the downtown summerlin mall.
My previous apartment complex was nothing like this one. The office staff was awful, maintenance took days or weeks to get someone to come out, and the grounds were not well maintained. It has been such a pleasant change living in the Boulders. I highly recommend this apartment complex to anyone looking to live in this area! If I could give 4 ½ stars I would.

Worst place ever! Do not think about signing a lease. I’ve had wonderful rental history but this place will nickel and dime you. Maintance takes forever. They Don’t Repair ANYTHING Correctly. It takes them months just to fix something. The people in the office is very unpleasant. They will not work with you or even show concern. I do not recommend to live here. Save your money. The legends up the street are starting at 800 for rent 1300sqft. Boulders started at 895, then 920 now it’s 1055 for 1072sqft. Save your money! They raise rent every year. New management sucks! Not one nice person in that office!

The view is great. In a nice quiet area. Easy access to highway. Friendly staff and great service.

I have lived at The Boulders for a while (4 years now), and I have to say, within the last two years, this is not a place I would recommend to anyone looking for a nice place to live. Once the office staff was turned over to new management, it has been a struggle to get the most basic things taken care of. The office staff is unprofessional, unresponsive (the phone often goes straight to voicemail, and if you leave one, it won’t get answered for a few days), and rude. They treat this has strictly a business with little consideration that people ACTUALLY LIVE HERE. No consideration that this is someone’s home, that we should feel safe and well-​taken care of for the exorbitant rent we pay. I called on multiple occasions to let them know that there was a long line of cars trying to get in the front gate every night, and that it wasn’t working properly. The response? «You have to push the numbers slowly or it won’t work.» Um, I know how to enter the gate code of a complex I’ve lived at longer than you’ve worked here. Please don’t insult my intelligence. It’s not working properly, that’s why I’m calling!!!
The veteran maintenance men are friendly and by far the best people on the staff. However, on several occasions, we have requested work orders that were never fulfilled upon by the office staff (one of which being the electrical outlets in one of the bathrooms that haven’t worked for well over a year, which I have given up on getting fixed). I have also had newer maintenance crew members I was not familiar with try to let themselves into my apartment with the maintenance key while I was home and not expecting them. The excuse? «Oh sorry, wrong unit.» What the heck? And how did The Boulders handle it? They didn’t.
The landscapers come way too early and it’s impossible to sleep-​in at the complex, so I hope you’re an early-​riser. Most recently, the landscapers trimmed/​pruned the trees and bushes of the complex, and left the excess material for 3 days on the lawn! Where are people supposed to walk their dogs or let their kids run around? Oh wait, there’s enough dog feces around this complex to fertilize an acre of crops, so you won’t want your children running around anyway. And I hope you don’t have allergies, with the ridiculous landscaping that takes place every day, all day. It’s only a façade, since the interiors have not been well-​maintained. Old plumbing, A/​C units, electricity, and appliances are The Boulders special.
The parking is a nightmare. My car has been vandalized, stolen and recovered by the police, and towed while I was in the hospital due to an expired temp moving permit after it was stolen the week before (mentioned previously). Did anyone in the office call to see what was going on with the temp permit? No, they just towed it the day it expired. I lost my car because of that incident. And I hope the office isn’t expecting the parking tag back, as it was in the car that they had towed. Not that the parking tags mean a damn thing, since people park wherever they want. But I can guarantee they’ll charge me for it upon move-​out. The office and upper management at the corporate level are unsympathetic and only in the business of making money off the poor souls who have signed part of their life away to the lease.
This place is not as safe as they make you believe. A gated community only works if you screen the people who move in. I have several friends who do live here (not upon my recommendation) that have had their units broken into, patio/​porch vandalized, cars broken into or stolen, and who have been harassed by other tenants. And the security staff? Incompetent. In fact, my scariest moment during my time here involved a security guard, who has since been fired.
The rent has been steadily increasing since I’ve moved in, and I’ve had to pay more with each lease I sign. What is this money being spent on, because it certainly hasn’t been going to any maintenance work orders to benefit me in any form.
Lastly, they took away the overnight rent drop (due to the rampant vandalism and thugs that move have been moving in). So you’ll have to drop your check off during the office hours. I hope you don’t work a normal shift of 9 – 5, because you’ll have to miss work to make sure your rent is paid. Unless of course you want to pay your rent via the online portal that charges you a high fee for paying with a credit card.
You choose how you’ll be inconvenienced and mistreated, here at The Boulders. That’s their game.

The apartment themselves are fine and the complex is quiet, but the property management company is terrible. I have lived here just over a year and have never gotten a maintenance issue resolved or a question answered with any less than three phone calls. The staff is very nice and friendly but they never follow up with what they are actually supposed to do but instead seem focused on saying whatever they need to to get people out of the office or off the phone. When my lease expired, they did not give me sufficient written notice that they would be increasing my rent, but tried to do so anyway.

Love living here! They allow me to have my Doberman, gated entrance, alarms in apartments, dog parks throughout and multiple pools. I am very happy to call this place home! Only downfall is no assigned parking however I have yet to have to park far from my front door.

By far the worst place I’ve lived as far as apartment living goes. Moved in at the beginning of Feb and nothing was ready. I mean no lights worked, hanging smoke detectors off the ceiling, dishwasher spewed water from top of sink, cabinets were dirty, Windows were not closings, screens busted, dryer not hooked up, ice machine not working, cracked tiles everywhere, carpet coming up, broken glass at bottom of stairs everywhere when we moved in, closet rod Brown not properly installed, and I’m sure I’m missing some things. So ok we place a work order and it’s like pulling teeth to get anything done. I had to contact the corporate office then the regional office finally things get done but only half ass it seems. No communication between office and maintenance. They tried to say since I never give permission to enter that’s the problem when we clearly ask for a courtesy call and never get one. My girlfriend is pregnant and this has been a nightmare. We both agree this is the worst place we have both lived. Giving one star is generous. I feel like we were smoked and mirrored. They say they want to be «resort style» living will maybe if you stay at a motel 6 even then you probably get better service. Don’t let the model apartments fool you. Look for something else. I didn’t look at the reviews but if I did I wouldn’t have bothered with this place.

Much like Leonard’s comment, this WAS a nice place a couple years back… not any longer. I moved here in 2011, and really liked the location, staff, maintenance, neighbors. Now, this place has done a complete 180. There is poop in the grass from owner’s not picking up after their dogs, the parking is horrendous (they need assigned spots), and the cost per unit has gone up more than its worth.
Personal issue: My downstairs neighbor was constantly fighting, screaming with his partner, and playing loud music, regardless of the time. After speaking with management, their reply was there wasn’t much they could do about it and to call metro. REALLY?! Well metro did come out, at least 4 different times, from neighbor’s complaints and calls. Management did nothing to help the situation.
The floor plans are nice, they have 3 pools, it is gated (which doesn’t matter to me anymore since anyone can get in by just waiting at the gate), the police precinct is down the street, and it’s near the freeway.
My lease is up in a couple months, and I am not renewing. They need better management. They also need to either lower their prices or have better standards when allowing tenants to move in.
