Buffalo & Alta, the Death Corner for small businesses: –Capriotti’s sandwiches –Koster’s payday loans –Trendy furniture store –Hair/Nail salons –Clothing stores –Asian grocery –Cop boutique –Cute cafes The latest casualty: I See London posters & clothing If you want to live your lifelong dream of starting your own business think twice about locating it in the Buffalo Center. The life expectancy of your business is about a year. It’s amusing to see which ambitious business owner will take a crack at it next. «I know at least a dozen businesses have failed here, but MY idea can’t lose! I’m going to start my empire in a strip mall with the stink of death all over it!» Some jokers are now trying ANOTHER sandwich shop. «Capriotti’s didn’t make it but MINE will!» I know, the entrepreneurial books tell you not to let negativity seep into your psyche, but don’t get crazy. The wrong location can kill your business from the gitgo. Cheap rent only postpones the inevitable. Papa John’s Pizza is the only business to last here. I wouldn’t be surprised to see that close too.
