Capo’s Italian Cuisine

Went to Capo based on recommendations from friends and we were a little disappointed. We had the pesto pasta and the carbonara and it was just ok. In fact, the best thing we had was a Caesar salad.

Loved the ambiance, the meatballs were my favorite (still craving them) & the filet Mignon was juicy and delicious. Our waitress was a delight and made us feel like were were family. The piano music was playing and even serenaded our table. We were a party of 10, which everyone knows get tricky with food coming out timely but at Capos the service was great, thank you! we will be back soon!

This is the real deal. The food is delicious along with a waiter playing the mobster part. There was also a piano bar with a Frank Sinatra Style singer. I was really impressed. The best part was the ambiance. It felt like we were at a real speakeasy. It will not disappoint.

This is a great place! Iv’e been there three times and all experiences were very good.
Every pasta dish I tried was tasty, especially the ravioli. The fried calamari is exceptional.
Service is great. Every staff member was really patient for questions and very nice generally.
Notice that the main dishes come with a small salad or soup besides the great appetizers so you might consider it before ordering a lot of appetizers.
All and all I would recommend this place!

Poor response time to the door. The waitress did great but was understaffed. The food was less than average and bland. The environment was very sexy and casual. Too bad the food wasn’t better because the venue has real potential.

The entrance is very well done; it sets the tone for the dining experience.
The Caesar salad was very good. It had the prefect dressing/​lettuce ratio, if that’s your sort of thing. The Rat Pack Pesto w/​shrimp was very yummy. My husband ordered the Carbonara with chicken. He thought it was bland; however I felt that it tasted like a typical carbonara dish.
We were seated near the kitchen entrance and patio door so the continuous yelling of «corner» by the waiters was quite annoying. Additionally it was very drafty when the patio door was opened. The piano singer was entertaining. Our waiter was polite but not overly attentive.
All and all not the best Italian food I’ve ever had but not as basic (or gross) as an Olive Garden.

Italian cuisine is much better here at Capo’s. The secret door was a really cool accent to the theme. The customer service was superb as well as the food.
The red sauce is the best whether it is marinara or vodka sauce. Vodka sauce is marinara with cream. The sauce is on the sweet side which I love.
They have friendly waitresses which makes them much better choice!

A Chicago-​based mob speakeasy, in Vegas? I was so there last Saturday night for one of my very sporadic date nights with the husband. Located in the old Hooters (yeah, I’m from Vegas, I know these things), I saw that they turned that titty-​tastic 80’s chicken wing place into a dark, somewhat intimate but very entertaining restaurant and lounge which adorns pictures of mafia legends of long ago. Yup, this place definitely did not resemble the raucous orange splattered nipple nightmare of years before. I was impressed. We had 8:45 pm reservations and so upon entering, you must ring the bell and low and behold, the host greets you from a small cut out in the wall above the payphone, to the right of the door and doorbell. Woo, so speakeasy. And since we had those reservations, dude had no problem letting us in. Don’t know if a password is required without reservations, but one need only to check their website for more info. But I think reservations would be most advisable.
Anyway, it’s a good thing we had a reservation because the place was packed. We had to wait a few minutes past our reservation time. The host even admitted to us that he’d tell us to go to the bar, but considering how packed it was that night, there was no way we were getting a seat at the bar. Once we were finally seated in a booth, not far from the entrance, we waited a little bit for a server. We weren’t in a hurry, we didn’t have any other plans or anywhere else to be that evening, so to speak. But we were quite hungry and thirsty.
Having sorta kinda studied the menu before arriving, I chose the eggplant parm and my husband tried the lasagna. We decided against any apps that night, knowing that the entrees would be more than enough. The bread basket came and there were just 5 little slices of what looked like baguette bread with cold individual foil wrapped pads of butter. I was not really impressed with that. If you’re an Italian place, offer up warm breads and butter, not this airline bread and butter service! But hey, it’s always been said, best not to fill up on bread. So with that, we waited for the cocktails. And because it was a speakeasy and I knew any bar hopping that we may do that night would not offer good red wine, I opted for a dirty martini with blue cheese olives and it was fabulous! The olives were perfect apps for me. The husband had his usual fancy outing drink: a Manhattan. And although dirty martinis go better with steak, I still enjoyed my eggplant parm with my drink. My husband raved about the lasagna, especially the sauce. We each took half of our food home for the next day and it warmed up beautifully.
So I give it three stars only because of the pokey service and the bread basket. I’d like to give this place another go, possibly take my mom here so that she can check it out. I might even entertain having a steak with my dirty martini next time I visit.

Deliciosa and such fun. A fantastic start to our groups «mob» /​rock n roll themed vacay.
We’d never tried pasta fazul which is a fabulous soup. I had the marvelous Gotta artichoke chicken dish, the mashed potatoes were perfect. My husband stuffed himself on lasagna and our guests loved the steaks. Servings plentiful. Atmosphere gangsta fantasy. The Sinatra singer and magician frequented our table making us feel special and part of the family.
We were headed to the Vegas mob museum which is a don’t miss the next morning so this was the perfect way to take us back in culinary time.
Food perfect. Staff helpful, friendly while the greeter was in thuggery mode to set the tone.
Every dish exquisite. Diet? Fuhgedabowdit. Order the cannoli. .even if you gotta take it to go.

This is a great place! We went out for a date night and all expectations were met or exceeded. From the password that was required for entry to the dessert at the end of the meal. Brandon our server took great care of us. He was polite and checked in on us just enough so that we never wanted for anything. I had the pasta arrabiatta ,
the Mrs. had the eggplant parmigiana. Both excellent. The starter, garlic cheese bread and Caesar salad were great! We had a couple of cocktails and a bottle of Chianti for dinner and all was well. Check this place out. It’s worth the drive if you’re a tourist staying on the strip.

This was our 2^nd visit to Capo’s and loved every minute. What a great vibe, attention from the waiter, food, atmosphere. We dined at 5pm and by 6 — 6:30pm the place was filling up. We LOVED the magician (V) and his table tricks. Very accomplished. The singer was wonderful and sang a song my sister requested right at our table.

Food is amazing!
I had the linguini & clams. hubby had the chicken piccata with risotto. Friends we very pleased with the their lobster & shrimp risotto & the NY steak w asparagus & garlic mash.

Went with a Groupon and was treated like very well, just like everyone else. We did go during off hours because we’d heard it gets crowded. Lasagna and meatballs were amazing. I probably shouldn’t have eaten all that bread, though. But it’s like crack and I couldn’t stop.
Cool interior makes you feel like you’re in an old school speak easy. Love the chalk outline of the body by the door, lol.

Another spot you don’t want to miss when going to Vegas. love the entrance way and the secret door. From the moment you walk in it’s like your in an underground mob style restaurant. They have a Frank Sinatra impersonator playing the piano. The food was yummy but a bit pricey that’s why I only gave four stars.

We go to Vegas often and have driven by this place a million times.
It’s located across the street on Sahara Ave across from the car dealerships.
I had purchased a Groupon so we could give it a try and we are very happy that we did. The Groupon offered was for 2 house salads ($ 6.95) that had this amazing creamy garlic dressing that we had on the side.
2 entrees and we had the meatball sandwich ($ 9.95) with a choice of pasta salad or fries. I had the pasta and it wS delicious with marinated artichokes. The sandwich was not bad. The meatball had good flavor but was a bit tough.
My husband had the Capone’s carbonara ($ 10.95) that was delicious!
It came with 2 beverages. He had coffee and I had iced tea and both were good.
The service was great. The waitress was warm and friendly and so was the busboy.
It had an old school mobster vibe with red leather booths and a piano that they said they have entertainment at night.
We really enjoyed it. We are going to try it for dinner next time.

The atmosphere was seductive and mysterious, all while being very welcoming. We visited on a Sunday, so they had a wonderful Sinatra influenced singer, Dave De’Costa, covering a variety of classic songs. He was charming, amusing, and sounded just like the legend himself.
The creamy garlic salad was delicious. I could have easily consumed several more servings. The bread was warm and soft, with a flakey outer crust. I ordered the chicken carbonara and a vanilla cream soda. Everything was beyond satisfying and I look forward to my return.

Gimme a name… and a kick in the head. From the moment I called to make reservations, to the minute I left the joint — I was smiling. I called to make sure we wouldn’t be turned away and the mobster that answered replied with a heavily Italian, «Gimme a name…»
We arrived on a Thursday for lunch. We found the secret entrance, gave the eyes in the doorway the code and were granted admission. The entire place is dimly lit and mob like. Red lights flash to alert them of new visitors and creaky wood floors keep people honest. We were seated right away, in a comfy booth adorned with a portrait of Al Capone.
All the waiters wear white pressed long sleeve shirts and black trousers with suspenders. I selected the meatball sandwich, which came with a side salad. The sandwich was amazing. The best Italian I have ever had in my life. The creamy garlic dressing is so good, you will wish you could take a bottle home with you. From the drink list, I chose «Kick in the Head». We visited a nearby tiki bar a bit later and let me tell you –Capo’s crafts a much better cocktail. It was delicious and carried just the right punch.
My man selected the chipped Italian beef sandwich and again, we were blown away. It’s as if they have taken good home cooking and elevated it to off the charts good. Their Chianti selection is also excellent. Service was great.
We were there too early in the day for the piano player. I am already planning a return dinner trip, so that we can experience that. I have heard nothing but great things about him.

So cool! I absolutely loved the vibe of this place. At first I wasn’t sure why we had to ring a doorbell to get in but I get it now. It all comes together. It’s all part of the feel and experience of this restaurant. You walk in to a dimly lit dining room and bar and with Frank Sinatra music playing, felt like something in a movie. We got to sit in a corner booth and order our meal from a waiter with an Brooklyn Italian accent, just a very cool experience.
The reason we dropped in is because we got a Groupon for a prix fixe lunch for two which included a soda, salad and entrée for $ 20. What an great deal. The Italian house salad was fresh and dressed with zesty Italian dressing and Parmesan. I ordered the carbonara with chicken as recommended by the waiter and the lady sitting in the booth next to us and it was not at all disappointing. Creamy sauce, perfectly cooked pasta, tender chicken, peas scattered within. Yum! I wasn’t able to finish it because it was quite a large serving for lunch so the waiter brought me a large togo box for me. My fiancé got the meatball sub and of course I had to try it. The meatballs were huge! They were tender and so flavorful. The bread was baked to perfection and the marinara sauce that came with it was super fresh, you could just taste all the fresh tomatoes in it.
This place is awesome. The experience is definitely one of a kind. If you haven’t been, you have to at least check it out once. I’ve never been to a place like it. It’s something you would expect in New York’s Little Italy. What a fun place. I know I’ll be back to bring my family when they visit. I know they’ll get a kick out of it.

I had high hopes for Capo’s Italian Cuisine. Two stars is all I can come up with for this place. Somethings are on me. Like not really mapping out how far this place was from mid-​strip. We paid $ 27.50 + a $ 5.00 tip for a taxi from the Monte Carlo. So figure you’re into roughly a $ 65.00 round trip cab fare just to get here and back to your hotel. That was on me.
It was 100 degrees outside in the early evening. The secret door was kinda of fun. We gave the password to my GF’s daughter to get us in. First impression, it’s hot in here. 77 degrees inside. The host seats us at the first booth we come to in the bar area facing the bar, a TV showing the The Shawshank Redemption, and the open kitchen. Heat from the kitchen is coming right at us. Not good.
I got up and asked the host now sitting at the bar if we can be seated in the main dinning room which is pretty much empty. One booth out of five is occupied. There’s a big table set in the middle for maybe a party of ten? I don’t know.
The host says–
Well, you know here’s the thing… we have a big party coming in and… we gotta lot of reservations… and let me see what I can do… and I’m not to sure… and let me check on something… and so on and so on.
My inner monolog is saying to me–
This guy wants me to break out some cash for a better table in this empty hot and stuffy restaurant. Are you fucking kidding me guy? I just shelled out over $ 30.00 bucks just to get here! Really? I’ll stand my ground.
The host continues–
Yeah, you know we got this big party coming in and we are really busy and, and, and… Okay, okay, okay, I’ll get a booth setup for you.
For the record, only one other couple came in while we were there and the big table got broken down and put away half way through our dinner cause no one ever showed up. Now, I have no real proof he was shaking me down, but I think he was. Not cool.
We got the temp down to 72 degrees and things were looking up. Martini time. I had two and they were good. Our waitress was very nice to us. Oh yeah, as others have mentioned it’s pitch black in here. 99 Cent store mini flashlights that weren’t working very well are attached to the menus. It was a struggle reading the menu.

Veal Parmesan– Surprisingly good. I always give credit when due.

The live Frank Sinatra type singer was cool at first. The Queen of Reseda’s daughter was the only single looking female in the place as far as I could see.
He serenaded her once, she liked it. «Return to me. Please come back bella mia»
He serenaded her twice, okay fine. Move on Broheim.
He serenaded her a third time and it started to get really old, really fast.
We laughed about it later, but it was borderline uncomfortable for a while there.
After dinner we asked if they would call us a cab. They have there own driver which they offered to take us back to our hotel. It was a flat $ 25.00 plus I gave him a $ 5.00 tip. We took them up on their offer, the driver was very nice and got us home safe.
IMO these guys have figured out how to stack the deck with the Unilocal reviews. Soon after I posted this review, four new five star reviews mushroom up pushing this one down. Take notice how most of these reviews are pretty short and sweet by people with not a lot of friends.
Some guy wrote how it was packed on a Monday night? BS. We were there on a Sunday night and it was dead. I wish I would have checked out the 166 other reviews that are not currently recommended before coming here. 166! Check them out for some very interesting reading.
I regret coming here. I felt like I wasted a dinner in Vegas. You’d be better off at Casa di Amore. We had a great time earlier this year.

Like a hidden Speakeasy, this restaurant is old school cozy meets mob-​cool. There’s a piano player/​singer. Chandeliers and textured wallpaper. A table side magician. An exposed kitchen with an amazing chef working in lightening speed.
Our server Brandon was great. He was very knowledgable on the restaurant and the menu. The risotto was unbelievable, it would be a shame not to order it as your side dish. The chicken Parmesan was to-​die-​for! The spaghetti and meatballs were perfection. The steak was better than a steak house.
We come here a few times a year, but each time it just gets better and better. We may have to visit more often. If you haven’t been yet, out it on your to do list.
