Champion Martial arts

This place is awesome! My son has learned so much… And it’s not just about the «martial arts» aspect. It’s about making it fun for the kids… making it an enjoyable experience. They are kids, and if they didn’t include the fun and games that come with each class my son, as well as the majority of the other kids, would get bored and lose interest. ALL of the instructors are excellent. Their classes are just the right amount of technical lessons mixed with fun and games. Keep up the great work!

The bad reviews are spot on! Class is overcrowded, little or no directive instructions. Class sessions for the younger children are comprised mostly of coordination games, stretching, jumping jacks, and maybe some high kicks (very little martial arts). They are definitely interested in just making a quick buck! Kids graduate every few weeks with a fee for graduation and belts. All class sessions are cancelled for those graduation days. Will electively cut class time 10-​min short (class is only 30 mins long). Bottom line, you are definitely not getting your money’s worth! Furthermore, the instructor is not patient with handling over-​enegetic children, and demeanor towards the children are borderline inappropriate.

The kid’s kickboxing instructor, Brandon, is an example of what I call a fine human being. He has a lot of patience, and is very good with the children. He is good at training an entire class while simultaneously assessing each individual student. My 7 year old daughter attended his class for one month. Before the class she had been getting bullied. After three weeks of applying herself she was no longer afraid, and had stood up for herself, peacefully disarming the bully with words. The kickboxing class stresses physical fitness more than anything else, but each class had a technical portion where Brandon would teach them a new combination, or technique. More important than what I have to say is my daughter loved it, and refused to miss one class.
The schedule is friendly as well. Monday –Thursday offers 2 afternoon classes that run 45 minutes, and one on Saturday at 9:30 a.m. if you want your kid to get into martial arts, or just to get into shape, this is a great place for you.

My son has attended this wonderfully organized, extremely clean and safe environment for 10 months now. We are honored and attend because of the amazing abilities of his instructor; Mr. Gaston.
Mr. Gaston has a way to press kids to work harder and focus on achieving their goals while never belittling ordiscouraging the youth.
I hope my son Aiden does become a «black belt leader, sir!» When he does Mr. Gaston will be a majority of the reason why.
Parent if you want to raise, healthy, happy, disciplined adults, this place is where you start.

I highly recommend this place. They offer military discount and the instructor and staff are all friendly, respectful, and helpful. The instructor has so much patience and tries to make the class entertaining for the adults as well. My son has shown quite an improvement in the few months he’s been attending here. Respectful, manners, paying more attention, etc he’s only 5 so I keep seeing improvement. I appreciate the life skills the kids learn about each quarter such ad discipline, respect, perseverance… I wish more kids nowadays were taught these things.

I don’t know why they’re rated so low, but let me just say my family and I LOVE it here. My 8&9 year olds are in the process of becoming black belts and since starting classes, they have become more confident in who they are, and have grown more well mannered than they were before. They are also much stronger and have more endurance. The instructor is very good at what he does and teaches the students about life skills as well as self defense. The instructors are concerned about the students and will even talk to them privately if they have questions or issues.
People need to understand that although this is a Martial Arts school, this is ALSO a business, and of course there are fees! It is my opinion that if you are surprised by the fees, then you didn’t ask about them beforehand. Education is never free,“just saying”. It’s been almost 2 years, and soon my kids will be black belts. Just check the place out on your own.

We bought a deal on groupon for a month of kickboxing or karate. (Revised to ONE STAR after ALL MY CHILDREN DEVELOPED HAND FOOT AND MOUTH VIRUS… over a week of sickness after about a week and a half of classes here… nightmare!!!)
The gentleman who greets folks at the door certainly deserves FIVE STARS; a younger man with a beard. He assisted me in cleaning up my son’s spill, went out of his way to make me aware of the schedule and helped me get my information to the desk while juggling my little ones. Out of the three times we’ve attended classes here, he is BY FAR the most professional and noteworthy associate.
The studio, however falls short in comparison. Patrons arriving for kickboxing must pass through the karate studio. The Karate studio is over flowing to the brim with people, reminding me more of cattle being herded rather than people. The classes aren’t scheduled so there is not enough time to clean the mats in between… or even for people to shuffle out the front door before the next herd arrives. Cleaning up my son’s water spill brought to my attention just how disgusting this studio is as far as cleanliness. If I am not mistaken, my comments about the studio’s cleanliness seemed to be overheard… and seemingly laughed at by management.
The children (ages 3 – 8) enjoyed the class however. The instructor was sensitive to their ages and properly instructed the students to alternative exercises. The music was appropriate for the most part, and I too enjoyed watching the children while they punched away! Instructor could have added a little more teaching; for example pointing out what muscle is being stretched for a sense of increased body awareness.
We will finish out our groupon, but thus far it seems the other reviewers are right in their assertion that the owners care more about making a buck than long time customers. (BECAUSE OF THE CHILDREN GETTING SICK FROM THIS PLACE, NEVER GOT TO FINISH THE GROUPON… ugh)

I’ve trained in Krav Maga with the owner of this business. He’s knowledgable and very detail oriented and is dedicated to his members. With leadership like that, I know that the staff is going to rock.
If you’re interested in a self-​defense program that also packs a punch when it comes to fitness these guys are the place to be. Realistic self-​defense that will leave you sweating.
The instructors are certified to teach Krav Maga which is awesome because that means the quality and authenticity of the program is going to be there.

I wish I had read more into reviews b4 signing contract! Everything is true!!! Child graduates every 2 months, each belt $ 65. Watch out for yellow belt cause on top of $ 65, now u have to come up with $ 500 for weapons bag. Oh, forgot to mention (out of the kindness of their hearts) they do offer convenient payment plan for $ 200 extra after term! Be prepared to be punished if you are not well off. Oh, n don’t even think bout trying to save $$ off EBay, Craigslist or local martial arts supply, no no no! They only accept their ATA equipment. Childs «free» uniform took 2 months to get in, forcing me to buy extra cool black one on display. Oh, I failed to mention class accommodation. When I enrolled my child, maybe 12 other kids now there are 25 – 30. How do u expect child to learn anything with that many kids, one teacher in a 30 minute class? So disappointed right now, please believe… if not check out a Monday 4pm or Tuesday 6pm class.

The best investment we make is the investment we make in our kids. The staff is warm and welcoming and I love them all. Since our daughter attended this school, her confidence has improved tremendously! Her grades have improved significantly. She is in the honor roll in the first trimester. The owner has the biggest heart. My cousin signed up my nephew and he has literally come out of his shell! I see kids in this school grow with a tremendous amount of respect and confidence and not to mention, improved fitness levels. I thank the entire staff of Champion Martial Arts from the bottom of our hearts.
If you are looking for an institution that can make a positive impact in your child’s life, pay a visit to Champion Martial Arts. Just observe and see for yourself. That is all I recommend. The best way to make a good judgement is to get the facts straight first.

Careful about signing up with this facility. This place is concerned about profit only (selling tshirts, pants, etc.). High pressure shady sales tactics. They make it very hard to cancel your membership. The owners are only concerned about making money off of you IMO. Please be advised. Learn from our experience. Stay away from this place. Very disappointing.
