Chapel Hill Apartments

I lived here from December 2014 – 15 and had an overall pleasant experience. The neighborhood was always quiet and clean. Management was actually very helpful and kind unlike most other reviews paint them. The maintenance staff responds to work requests quickly (usually the same day) or they schedule an time the next day when you can expect them.
The new kitchen appliances were pretty good and it is hard to find an apartment kitchen as large as the one in the two bedroom apartment here. The dryer is pretty inefficient at drying clothes, but other than that the other appliances all worked well.
I think other reviewers just need to realize the basics of apartment living: you need to break your lease properly if you don’t want to be charged an arm and a leg, noisy neighbors are going to happen-it’s not the management’s fault and you need to speak to your neighbors about it, and apartments are priced based on supply and demand so if you move in when there’s a lot of demand for the apartment you will pay for it

I made an account just for this review. My fiancé my daughter and myself moved in a couple months ago. This is the worst apartment I’ve ever lived in. It’s way overpriced for what we get. Management is a complete joke. My neighbors are the worst people I have ever met. A couple 20 year olds who are expecting a baby who don’t work and have no respect of their neighbors that live down stairs. They stomp and run through their apartment all hours through the night. Not to mention they have 2 people on the lease when at least 5 are living upstairs with them. I have called and complained to management but they have yet to do anything about it.
DO NOT CONSIDER THIS PLACE! You’ll hate your life until your lease ends
GO SOMEWHERE ELSE!!!

I have lived here for over four years. I own my unit so some of the issues a read about concerning maintenance and office workers haven’t been a concern of mine. The place was starting to look a little run down but since the recent renovations of the clubhouse and the buildings things look much better. I am very happy here and I have never felt unsafe.

I signed a lease for 1 year in the apartment. I resigned my lease for 6 months (not because I wanted to). I realized 3 days later I would be moving out of state. The office told me there was NO WAY I could get out of my new lease. They said the only way to now get out was give them a 60 day required written notice, pay first months rent, last months rent, and a 500 lease break fee. Long story short $ 2500.00 dollars. I did so because I had no choice. I was moved out of the apartment roughly one month (7÷5÷15) prior to my last day (7÷31÷15) and left the keys on the counter. Today received a 5 day notice in the mail stating that I am default in payment and have to pay ANOTHER 1000.00. When I called the office I spoke to VERY condescending and RUDE Lauren Bogard. That told me they will be sending me a final bill for carpet cleaning, painting etc if that needs to be done and fees up until the 12^th of this August because they had NO IDEA I had vacated the apartment even though my 60 day REQUIRED NOTICE stated MY LAST DAY WOULD BE 7÷31÷15… She said this was because I did not turn in my keys to the office and left them on the apartment counter top. The manager of the leasing office is rude and acts like she knows everything as well and they are both VERY condescending. If you want to be ripped of sign a lease with this place.

I moved in here a month ago and have enjoyed my experience so far. I read the other reviews and am pretty surprised that people have a lot of bad things to say.
When I moved in, everyone was friendly and helpful. When I have called to have maintenance come out (on a couple of occassions when I first moved) they were responsive and came by within a very resonable amount of time. FedEx had even delivered a heavy box at the office instead of leaving it at my door and the maintenance guy was nice enough to bring it to my apartment and carry it upstairs for me.
One thing that’s important to me is having a quiet place to live and especially a quiet place to sleep. I have not had any problems with noisy neighbors, parties etc since I have moved in.
The appliances are not fancy (someone mentioned them being old) but they work and look pretty new to me.
I do agree that having an additional fee for trash and water is a bit much, especially in Vegas though everyone back home in California charges this. I was aware of the additional fee when I moved, so I really can’t complain about it.
The only compliant I have had so far is that I prepared food, went to the bbq to cook it and neither had propaine so that was a bit annoying.
I am not sure if I just have good luck but my experience has been good so far.

Chapel hill apartments are horrendous.
They promise you when you move in new appliances, yes they are new circa 1999, all of their appliances suck up energy. Everything at this place has a fee, its literally 40 dollars a month for you to take your trash out to their dumpster. This place honestly is terrible, I have not even lived here for 4 months and I can already say, I have been towed from my own parking space and forced to pay to take the car out (out of my own pocket), I have put in a maintenance request to fix the electricity for my bedroom (since it has not worked since i moved in) and it still has not been done (4 months) our washer and dryer take multiple uses to clean one load of clothes and to top it all off the air conditioning unit barely works, and must be set at 72 just to get the temperature below 80.
This place sucks, the management is a joke, I fully regret moving in here and wish my lease would end faster

New management took over the property from Utah. Since then, they’ve been renting to anybody. Now we have metro coming through the complex almost nightly, the office staff are retarded beyond belief when you try to request maintenance in your unit (changing lights in our kitchen took them a week to get to, even though their maintenance guys hang out in the back of the property for most of the day in one of the garages, from what I saw, looking like they might be doing drugs. The worst part of the new management, is that any existing renters like myself that came up for renewal, were told «We want you to move out, that’s why we’re raising your rent.» We’ve been at this property since 2009 and have never been late on rent, our unit is well taken care of and we rarely ask the office for anything, and this is how we’re treated now. We re-​signed our lease only for 6 months, then moving out of here. Their promotions are not worth the eventually misery, headache inducing bullshit they’ll eventually put you through as well. Oh yea, they’re justifying their rent increase because of «renovation» which I was told is all black generic appliances, fake wood flooring on floor units, ghetto marble counter tops (also fake) and new paint inside and outside. Stay away, you’ve been warned.

While the apartments are alright, they’re certainly not worth the price. Maintenance takes an absurdly long time and the security is a joke. I had someone throw a rock through my car window and steal everything when I was parked in my designated covered spot. Apparently one of my neighbors reported it to management early in the morning but they didn’t bother to let me know so I didn’t find out until later in the evening when I was leaving for work. This place is unsafe and has some unsavory characters.

Love the apartment, love the location. The front office, with one exception, is awful. The manager, Cynthia, is pleasant and professional. Her staffer, Julia, is one of the worst workers in any role I’ve come across. Late every day, doesn’t respond to messages and 3 hr lunches daily are a few examples. Fire this girl and start over. How do you run a leasing office without a staffer there?!

I cannot believe this place is an actual business. If you want a cheap place to live, this is it. If something breaks, it might get fixed around the complex in a couple of months. Inside my apartment, walls were spot painted and the eviction notice was still on my front door from the last tenant. When we moved in, we made a maintenance list a mile long, and then it took them 10 days to get back to me on it. I am utterly disgusted and will NOT be renewing my lease. Oh yeah, and the management staff is rude and bitchy. I lived in a Camden before and will be returning to one shortly.
