Claremont Las Vegas

There are few times in life when you still feel dirty days after a hotel stay. Even hiking and camping the Grand Canyon for 2 days left me feeling less disgusting than my stay at the Claremont Hotel in Vegas did. I was looking for a cheap, no-​frills hotel where I could catch some sleep before my early flight out after a week of traveling around the southwest and I got stuck with the Claremont via Hotwire. This hotel was truly the most deplorable place I have ever stayed. It was visibly dirty with dust bunnies on the ceiling, layers of dust on the furniture, cigarette burn holes in the comforter, a soap-​scum covered tub that looked as if it had not been cleaned in 2014 and… bugs! The first room we were put in had ants crawling all over the floor and furniture so the very apologetic front desk attendant moved us to another room. This room was just as dirty, but without the ants. It did, however, contain the biggest roach I have ever seen, so that was nice. I have never written a Unilocal review before because it doesn’t take much to make me happy but this place was scary! Please stay away from this place so they can take a wrecking ball to it and get rid of Vegas’ biggest roach motel.

Unbelievably the scummiest hotel ever!!! I’m no stranger to camping in the woods. I just wanted to get a hot shower and get to bed. As I removed my shoes, I stepped on a rock and found to no surprise there were several more between the two beds. That was a sign that vacuuming wasn’t a priority here. I didn’t expect much for $ 67 but sleeping in the car and paying $ 10 for parking would have been a way better option. Just bear with me, I am not sugar coating any of this.
The shower had a soap scum ring all the way around the base of the tub about 4″ high. Despite that, I quickly grabbed a shower and got the hell out of there.
Then as I was standing barefoot on the carpet ready to climb into the bed, I had felt a pinch on the top of my middle toe. I looked down to find that a small ant had bitten me. I quickly plucked it away and grabbed my flashlight. There were no less than a dozen ants climbing onto my feet and up the side of the end table. That only made me want another room. I had no more than 30 minutes in this bed bug room. I decided to go to the front desk and make the attendant assign me another room. He was polite and apologetic and quickly grabbed the master key to check the status of another room down the hall. It seemed strange that he scoped the room out first and reminded me that he previously stated that there was a note in his computer about my first room being occupied. They were correct about that, it was occupied by insects. As I explored the new room with flashlight in hand, I didn’t come across any bugs but did notice the room had paint rolled furniture and the funniest thing was that they painted the walls brown around the existing particle board shelves, but left an outline of older white paint behind them. This was true for the make-​shift desk scenario and TV stand too. My end table had white roller marks on it because they bumped it while painting the back wall. You have to laugh at the poor attempt to spruce up the joint. I truly believe that this place is run by only two or three people. The so called «hotel manager» was pushing around the maids cart and swapping out toilet paper rolls. Needles to say there were no scrubbing bubbles or vacuum around his cart.
I had to get up at 4AM so sleeping at the ant farm was my only option whereas the SEMA show had all hotels fully booked. Upon wakeup, I sat up and recognized the largest cockroach ever lying on his back in front of the bed on the floor. It appeared that he was too large to fit into a possible roach trap and caught a bit of poison from somewhere within the room. He died there within the short time that it took me to get ready to exit the room. See attached photos for confirmation.
I sincerely doubt that this hotel will stay in business much longer. It’s unfortunate that the lack of cleanliness will ultimately condemn this place.

and of course they don’t show u what ur going to get, but because it said west of strip, I thought I’d take a chance. Now, I lived in vegas for 10 years, and I never knew this shit hole existed. It looked like a scene from a horror movie. Scenes from «HOSTEL». If your shooting a horror flick and need the footage, then this fits the bill. otherwise you’ve been warned. The pictures they posted here were probably when the place opened in the 70’s. I posted the actual photos from my stay last night October 2014. The ceiling was makeshift, and boards coming out the walls with 2×4. So if your in vegas and want the holloween experience, then this is for you. Bed bugs, roaches and walls falling apart. I didn’t feel so bad later that night, because other suckers, rolled in looking as dumbfounded as me. I sat out in the lobby with my laptop, and duked it out there, until morning.

Nastiest hotel ive ever been to. I would give zero stars, but i cant. Their website shows decent pics, they dont compare at all to how it really is. Outside is dirty, inside is danky, staff is unfriendly, the room was absolutely disgusting. Filthy room, broken flooring in the batjroom, paint peeling on all tje walls, carpet lifted up in almost all sections of the room, layer of dust everywhere. Tje floor was actually uneven as if the building had broken. The bed was saggy, the sheets seemed clean, bjt i wouldnt trust that. The comforter was so old and worn and dirty, tje tjreading had come undone and it was showing the stuffing inside. Walked down tje outside stairs to go to my car, there is no exit, just stairs. Tje access door at the bottom was broken, going back upstairs none of the access key doors had any power to tjem so tjey wouldnt open. The hallways smelt as if some feces were on tje walls. Overall a regretful stay. For tje same price i stayed elsewhere tje following night and had luxury. DONT STAY AT THE CLAREMONT…

do yourselves a favor please please please don’t stay here. unless you’re into bugs, slow service, people coming in and out complaining, dirty rooms, unwashed towels and linens. if you want to ruin your Vegas trip stay here. i hope they get into the hotel impossible show coz they badly need it

DO NOT STAY AT THIS HOTEL!!! OMG We booked online & when we got there they didn’t have any record of our reservation, my husband had to pay TWICE now its up to US to dispute the 1^st charge.
«Luckily» they were able to get us into a room… with no TV. This place is DIRTY. The entry light in our room didn’t work, the couch was stained & had cigarette burns, the carpets were stained badly. We were on the 3^rd floor & there isn’t a screen on the window! There were also holes in the walls where towel racks should’ve been, there were exposed fixtures where stuff was plugged into. The dresser had all the knobs missing. Not to mention all the FLEA BITES I woke up w/​on the first night all over my legs. My husband even had to check the mattress for bed bugs! The door to our room didn’t close all the way & the security lock was just hanging on the door. We asked for another room & they didn’t have anything to offer us.
The elevator is dirty, doesn’t have a licence displayed, the «continental breakfast» consists of packed pop tarts, honey buns & Capri Sun juice boxes… I didn’t DARE try the coffee.
The hotel entrance is pretty bad, as well. There were a bunch of people smoking out there all night, and cigarette butts EVERYWHERE. The trash can at the hotel entrance is over flowing w/​trash, coffee cups on the tables outside the entrance all weekend like no one was cleaning that day, the parking lot is full of trash. The carpets in the hall & elevator are nasty & who knows when the last time they were vacuumed. And the «Emergency» lights in the hallways not all of them work. My husband is a building maintenance supervisor & checked these things as we walked down the hall… they didn’t work.
One star rating is too many, this hotel needs a MINUS 2 star! We’ve stayed at some discount hotels before on a quick trip to Vegas but this place takes the cake. BAD place to stay.

Dirtiest hotel bar none. Somehow we booked this place for a week’s stay during CES, and upon arrival, we were all shocked at the conditions.
Entering the hotel, many overhead lights were broken. A Bug Terminix Log binder sits in the front lobby due to the Claremont’s constant battle with Bed Bugs. All bad signs pointing to go out the way you came in.
We had 3 rooms. The first room was in bad shape. Bed covers were not on the bed and laid in a pile in the corner of the room. There were red stains on the bed. Drinks from previous occupants stood on the tables. Now the bathroom was the worst of it all – just nasty.
The 2^nd room was in better shape, and had a TV. Not all rooms have TVs. The issues with this room was that the walls were falling apart. The fridge was alive with mold. Both rooms had broken lights, so the rooms were very dark. Lastly, the bathroom was just as bad as the first room.
The best part of the Claremont would be the front lobby staff. They’re super nice and try to make the customer happy. Unfortunately, this was not enough for us to stay there, and we left immediately after checking in. The hotel charged us a night’s stay.
We left without looking back!

Dear Lord never again. As one reviewer said the elevator IS straight out of a horror movie. The hotel is kind of in a shady area of Vegas, the room gave me a bad feeling, as if something bad happened in there, the faucet fixture in the shower was broken and leaking (before I even stepped foot in the room I shoved my boyfriend inside to see what the creepy noise was). Staff gave me the wrong room number, when we walked towards the stairs I saw some kind of suite at the end of the hall with the door open. Curious, I peeked my head inside the room and inched the door open to see a broken lamp on the floor and who knows what kind of scene inside before my boyfriend pulled me away. I would never stay here again, this place was just terrifying. I suppose you do get what you pay for…

This hotel was just terrible. The room they checked us into had fixtures falling off the wall, no phone and no working light! When we complained, they put us in a room not much better. Would rather camp in the parking lot!

Crap hotel.

The staff was very accommodating and got us a new room when our toilet didn’t work. The elevator is straight out of a horror film, and a man told me not to use one of the staircases because there was a nudist swimming pool next door (yet to be confirmed). Overall, I would say it is survivable for a night.

Stayed here with our youth sports team, you basically get what you pay for, but good price for a large group, friendly staff and met all of our requests.
