Community Cat Coalition of Clark County’s (C5) mission is to prevent cruelty to animals by protecting healthy free-roaming and feral cats in Clark County from cruel extermination methods and from non-medically directed euthanasia; this is accomplished through the implementation of a humane Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR) program, management of outdoor cat colonies, and educational out-reach.
We focus on trapping feral and stray cats, having them spayed or neutered and then returned back to their colony caretaker. Effective TNR programs will humanely reduce the overpopulation of feral cats in Las Vegas and Clark County.
History
Established in 2009.
Community Cat Coalition of Clark County was formed to make a difference in the community. The estimated population of feral cats is upwards of 200,000. Implementing TNR will humanely reduce the population and provide a better life for the cats.
Since January 2010, C5 has TNR’d over 7,500 feral and stray cats. The organization has approximately 40 volunteers which includes 25 volunteer trappers.
In October, 2011 the Clark County Commissioners issued a proclamation to C5 for our efforts to humanely reduce the feral/stray cat population.
