History
Established in 1994.
In 1994 a Nevada cowboy had a dream. To show the world the beauty and majesty of the country where he grew up. Being a cowboy he knew the best way to see this quintessential high desert wonderland was on the back of a gentle well mannered horse. Together with some friends and family he started Cowboy Trail Rides in the Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area.
What began with 4 horses and a dream has become a thriving riding stable with an impressive herd of many breeds and colors. The original short trail has grown to almost 20 miles of contiguous trails. We now offer backcountry rides from morning to night 364 days a year. Every night we offer a Sunset BBQ ride complete with a cowboy steak dinner and campfire. And yet, we’re still a small family owned and operated stable living the cowboy dream.
Meet the Business Owner
Buck S.
Business Owner
I’m a second-generation Nevada cowboy! I’ve been riding horses for as long as I can remember. My father would take me riding all over Nevada, and Utah, and the time I spent with him shaped my values. At a young age I learned how important friends and family are, and to treat everyone how you would like to be treated. When I was 12 years old my father and his good friend Bobby started this business. Everyday we would get up as the sun peered over the mountains and start rounding up horses to haul up to Red Rock Canyon. We spent the days building trails, and when we had the occasional guest come we would take them out and show them a great time. It was always an adventure for me, riding out in the desert, coming across big horn sheep, Mule deer, as well as wild burros and mustangs. So many memories! I even met Jasmin, my beautiful wife, out here! The business means so much to me. In fact, it’s my life!
