I would give 0 star if I could, worse customer services ever, they talk to you like you are 5 year old and expect you to beg for their services

Horrible experience. Even though I had the ability to go and come back, it took approximately 5 hours for a 10 minute transaction. My day had to revolve on them.

What the! On Christmas Eve, even though they were supposed to close at the end of the day, they closing early (12noon) due to a storm in Reno. It is still confusing to me that a storm over 400 miles away caused the early closure in Las Vegas.
I ended up going the first business day after Christmas. I arrived at 7:30a and there were already at least 150 people deep in the line. It was cold, but I was prepared with a long poofy feather down jacket plus hood. I was dumbfounded on how some people were not freezing.
At 8:00a, they opened the door and started letting people in. To get everyone inside, most or maybe all the counter representatives were assisting with intaking and getting everyone into the wait for your turn system. The system is fairly high-​tech and efficient as it take the last four digits of your phone number to tell you what place you are in line. There are monitors you can stare at to see how far down the queue you are. The system is also set up to call you or text you with updated wait times. I could have gotten a coffee or breakfast during the wait but the parking lot was packed so I didn’t want to risk not getting back in time.
It took probably 45−1hr before my turn. Not too bad. But it took another 45−1hr to get my Real ID application completed with the DMV representative. It would have probably been sooner but my rep was social and chatty, which I think I would have appreciated more than the typical somber-​faced representative.
All in all, it wasn’t as bad as I expected.
I’m not sure why I didn’t read the Unilocal reviews prior and wished I did, for all the good tips — most notably the tip about texting the DMV system and getting on the wait list prior to arriving.

Compared to other city’s’ DMV, this is the biggest. But as it is so large, it takes a while to be seen. With technology, they can now text you once you are checked in, just to tell you how much longer you have to wait. This saved me time more than once. The only thing that sucks is they got rid of the text check in. You have to be there before they open to get the number to text to check in, but after 8am, you have to manually check in.

This place is always sucks!!! Long lines!!! goshh i hope some day, they do better, i dont understand WHY? They should open more locations, also custumer service very poor.

Came around 10. Wasn’t seen until 230. If WE (yes, me my bf and our 2 kids) had known that we were gonna get a courtesy call half an hour prior to our number being called we wouldn’t have stayed here the entire time! Thank god for electronics the kids were able to keep still. Also, they had a snack bar that was available. Thankfully we were able to do everything we needed to do (get new licenses and get new plates) at the same window. Be sure you bring EVERYTHING the website asks for (if you’re a new resident). 2 stars is for the clerk who helped us. She was very nice and friendly considering the amount of people she had to see that day. She explained to us the registration fees and it’s based on the msrp of your vehicle. Very different from back home BUT much cheaper for us haha. I docked it for the wasted time and the janitor who was so rude to us. Granted we did knock over our drink but we did clean it up right away w paper towels. She came up to us and with her heavy Spanish accent told us where to go to clean it up. I’m thinking to myself, we already cleaned this wth is she mad about. Anyway, if you really really need to see the clerks sign in right when they open at 8. Otherwise, go to the kiosks for assistance.

They have improved their system drastically! For the past few visits, I’ve been in/​out in records time. Most staff very patient and kind. Keep up the continued extraordinary service!

Quick tip and only tip: text DMVFLAMINGO to 347−763−6175 the day before to get in early! But if you prefer to wait awhile read below:
Let me tell you how to get in and out with the quickness if you decide to come in yourself, pretend you’re injured. Come in with a cast or something and they’ll let you through the ada line. It’s awesome.
Another thing is the text message feature once you check in, I don’t remember where they ask you if it’s okay to text you but by all means. You’ll have options after receiving the text message also, the following options if I remember right is L to leave the text, h for help, and the most important S for status. If I showed you my text log you’ll see about S like 50 times sent.
On that note, once you check in feel free to leave the DMV! Go get some breakfast, some lunch, go get it on, get something and while you’re out and about text back S. Until about an estimated hour before being called, you’ll see where you’re at in the queue. Mine said 207 in front of you, then about an hour left it counted down and finally told you to stand in front of the desk with the number you’ll be assigned to.
Anyways I got my gold star DL, anyone traveling should be advised that you’ll need either this DL/​ID or your standard DL ANDDD a passport in order to travel out of state come 2020. Might as well get it out of the way now.

Every employee (even the supervisor) was incredibly kind, efficient and friendly. I’ve had to go back for missing information but they’ve been extremely helpful and I’m grateful for that.

The text messaging notification system is a great feature and it creates an easy hassle free environment. LV DMV on Flamingo, you rock!

They’ve gotten rid of the online check-​in system… you have to go in the office now and check in, then you can get your place in line and updates on your phone.
I thought CA DMVs were bad. 4 hour wait. For you CA people moving here, don’t expect your tags to cost any less in Nevada, it’s about the same. At least the phone updates are convenient, and you can somewhat go about your day until your place in line comes up.

The only great thing about this location is the new text feature where they’ll text you your wait time. However, you’ll still need to take the day off of work like I did because it’ll take all day! Sure it’s my fault for not going first thing in the morning but I just wanted to renew my license and was not allowed to do it online as it’s been 8 years since I moved here and they wanted a «new photo». I arrived just around 11am-​ish and when was I done and finished and ready to go home? 4:55pm, yes that is right I had to wait nearly 6 hours to take care of something that took me 5 minutes as my cell phone number was called to window 20 at 4:50pm. Can you believe it? So do yourself a favor, get there early, and pay attention to your text messages but don’t expect a quick wait!

I despise going here. Three hours for a five minute transaction? Seriously? Hustle people! Geez!
10−21−15 update… I’m upgrading from one star to four because I went in to get my Real ID (the one I had before wasn’t real?), and from the moment I actually FOUND A PARKING SPOT to the moment I walked out of the building with my business concluded, was only 45 minutes! Unheard of! A miracle! I don’t know what they changed, but it was working. Finally!

Nothing like waiting three hours to get a state ID for your teenager!
When you arrive, you must wait in a long customer service line. Then they use your phone number to call you to the counter. While you wait the automated system sends text messages to your phone to tell you how many people are ahead of you.
Here’s a tip: Go to DMV around closing time — say 4:30pm. I find that the staff work more efficiently during the poignant closing time hours so they can go home!

Okay, every time I know I have to go in it makes me dread that day. I did my REAL ID just the other day and the line was just barely out the door. I didn’t even realize they moved the main entrance over to the leftmost doors.
You get through that info line just to get a place in the «real» line to finish your business.
Obviously you would want to go very early in the morning if you can make it, unlike me. I went roughly around 930am. Took me a total of 4 hours.
I really adore the text system, though. Granted, the timing isn’t 100% accurate but that’s expected. I literally got my place in line and then hopped over to Babystacks with a friend for breakfast. By the time I was done, it was pretty much my turn in line :).
P. S. We all know how service is at DMV but my lady was super friendly. Although, the lady to get my place in line wasn’t very pleasant.

FINE, I’ll reluctantly join the DMV Dash Pass Fan Club. It’s great, if you know the tricks and it actually works. First clue: you can only call in to queue between 7:45 — 8:00AM. That’s it. Once the DMV actually opens at 8, you’ll get an error/“try again later” message. Did this three times before the sweet guy at the VIN inspection station clued me in.
I like that the Dash Pass allows you to hold your spot in line, and then adjust it for more time as needed so you can actually get there. That said, screwing over all the old-​school tech-​unfriendly folks who show up at opening and find out there are 300 people digitally in line ahead of them is kind of shitty.
Once you get in, things go quick and easy. The employee I worked at (lane 38, holla!) was super sweet and helpful. You’ll need an official copy of your birth certificate and/​or a passport in order to get an ID, and those take a while to get if you don’t have ‘em on hand. Registering a 2009 Volvo sedan with Real ID was $ 360, which was lower than I’d been warned to expect.
NOTE: You need a VIN inspection to register your car, get this done on a separate visit and just drive up to the smaller building with the drive-​thru in the parking lot. You’ll also need a smog check and those are done elsewhere, there’s one a block West on Flamingo if you’re in a pinch (Jiffy Smog).

I thought that was pretty nifty… came here to get my handicap sign for the crippled self… hubby went in to grab it for me but I needed to be there… the Dr. office spelt my last name wrong anyways so we had to go get that fixed before we went back in.
There was a line for handicap & I was in & out within 15 minutes which was GREAT because I was NOT feeling very good as my pain was getting worse… the guy that helped us was sweet & caring. He was also the one that was pointing out that I was turning pale & sweating so he made me sign papers quick & ORDERED THE hubby to take me home asap =] very nice.
Also came here to get my license & picture taken before & address updates, all my visits were quite pleasant. Nothing too bad where I was treated rudely or anything. But the place gets Hella PACKED like sumer time everyone brings the heat packed

I’ve definitely experienced better service at the DMV in NV, but it was at a different location up in North Las Vegas.
When I came here yesterday Thursday morning at 8:30AM I did not know that I was going to wait for 6 hours. I was here till 3PM. Yikes!
I think the most I’ve ever waited at a DMV was maybe 3 hours, but 6 is just down right ridiculous.
I was able to get a new DL from NV and my address updated, but unfortunately I have to wait 10 days to get an approval from another state to get my car registered.
Any who, looking forward to getting this all squared away soon!

Let me say that I text first thing in the morning so I don’t have to wait on line.
That’s pretty awesome.
Once you text, you will find out how long til your # will be called. If you need more time, you get an option for that as well.
Just an FYI, once your # is called, you have only 45 seconds to get to window before they call someone else.
People aren’t the friendliest, but come now, it’s DMV. They are not known for their customer service skills.

I tried covering both my bases. I was 6^th in line at 7:15, and also checked in online at 7:45 am (which is the soonest you can check in they claim). I was told I was 25^th in line when it came to check in. When walking in they texted me it was a 30 minute wAit. 20 mins later they text me again that my wait jumped from 30 to 70? Wtf. By the time it was 9am they texted me again that it was another 40 mins. I don’t understand how it continues to become a longer wait yet I was one of the first ones there. I truly believe it should go back to being first come first serve. Long story short being there early meant nothin and I didn’t get out of there til 10:15. Ridiculous.

Wow this place is packed! I get it — there’s overcrowding! Let’s get systems in place to accommodate the requirements of dmv and the citizens of Las Vegas.
Additionally, nearly every employee was smiling and accommodating even under very packed and stressful conditions.

Waited in line to check in. 1hr 30 minute wait time. They now text status updates and wait time straight to your phone. The help desk attendant encouraged me to leave and come back since the text messages would keep me up to date on status. The quoted time ended up being half the time. I constantly checked the status updates and wait time in front of me. The text message automated system needs adjusting because it wouldn’t allow me to «M-​need more time» to push myself back while I tried to hurry back to the DMV in time. Basically I lost my spot and had to do the whole process over again… Now triple the wait time. Moral of the story don’t leave the building and rely on the text message system to give you accurate time frame.
