Doggie Oasis Day Care & Boarding

We weren’t expecting to bring our dog on our trip. Initially we looked at care takers near us and after not feeling comfortable with the dog sitters around us we decided to bring him with us and bring him to dog oasis. We thought if we didn’t like it we could go somewhere else. Our dog loved the interaction he got from other dogs. We would usually pick him up close to 6 – 7. On the first night my husband found the caretakers on the floor playing with our dog. The second day they were excited to see our dog, called him by name, and they were happy that he came back. The third day they knew he liked to play with a certain dog and told my husband that they put him in with the other dog so he could play. That day we didn’t expect to stay at the strip for as long as we did we called to see if he could stay longer, they said he could stay until 9. We ended up being there close to 6:30. Dog Oasis and their caretakers are amazing they made this trip such a pleasure and we felt safe leaving our dog there. He loved it and we felt like they genuinely liked our dog. Thanks for doing such a great job!

We adopted our sweet Havanese Teddy in July. His lovely grey hair was getting fluffy so we looked for a groomer. Doggie Oasis was recommended by the Dog Supplies Outlet staff.
My husband brought our Teddy there today.
He looks fabulous and they said he was a trouper!

I don’t take the time to write negative reviews, but this place deserves it. Dropped my little pup off for the free 4 hour evaluation this morning to see if he would like the place for future day care/boarding.Two hours into the evaluation I got a phone call stating that my pup was injured. The staff member that called me stated that she didn’t know how my pup was injured because no one was around at the time. They said when they heard my pup Unilocaling, they ran to the mini oasis pen to find my pup limping. One of the reasons I chose Doggie Oasis was their promise of ²⁴⁄₇ supervision. Turns out that’s a lie.
I immediately drove to pick up my pup after I hung up the phone. I arrived to find my pup scared and hurt. He wouldn’t put any weight on his rear leg, so I took him to the vet to be checked. They did an x-​Ray and luckily he is not fractured, but his soft tissue is inflamed. I walked and my puppy limped out of the vet with a Baggie of medicine and a $ 360 vet bill.
I then called Doggie Oasis to update them on our situation since they seemed genuinely concerned when I picked my pup up. The girl I spoke to said that she called the owners of Doggie Oasis when my pup was injured, but «they haven’t called back to get an update since» I asked if they would pay the unexpected vet bill since my pup was unsupervised in their care and the girl told me I would need to call back later and try to talk to the owners. Seems like if the owners actually cared, they would have called me by now.
I get that I signed a liability waiver stating I wouldn’t hold them responsible for any injuries occurred while my pup was under their care, but their care was supposed to consist of supervision, especially since this was an evaluation for a first time visitor. I made a mistake by trusting Doggie Oasis with the care of my fur baby. Lesson learned, we won’t be visiting Doggie Oasis ever again.

I just started taking my dog to Doggie Oasis and seems like she is enjoying this one better than the other doggie day care.
I bring my dog home and she is tuckered out, so that means she was playing all day and not napping. I like that we can watch our dog on the web cams and we will continue to bring her back. Thanks Doggie Oasis!

I’ve been taking my dog Lucy to Doggie Oasis since she was a puppy, and she’s almost 5 now. When she was younger I took her much more for daycare to socialize her with other dogs, and to wear her out. She’s a Labrador and needs the exercise! I always board her here whenever I go on vacation, as she knows the facility, employees, and the dogs.
The web cams are great. It’s nice to see what your beloved pet is doing while you’re away at work or vacation. The employees and the owners seem to really take great care of ALL the dogs. They have a great system. I love the fact that they also foster dogs while trying to find a forever home for them. That tells me they truly care for these animals, and have big hearts.
The only negative thing I could say about this place is that I have noticed that my dog doesn’t seem as wore out when I pick her up from daycare. I started looking into it via webcam a maybe a year or two ago (I’m sure they noticed I wasn’t bringing her as often) and sometimes they would play ball, but a lot of the time, depending on who was working, my dog would just lay in the corner and sleep! My dog isn’t old, she’s a lab and she LOVES to play ball. (It doesn’t take much to wear her out either) I really wish they would be a little more consistent with playing with our dogs. Nothing worse then working 10 hours, picking your dog up and having to take her on a walk because she napped all day. (In all fairness these are the new owners, not the previous ones)
All the positives def outweigh the inconsistency in play. The hours are GREAT. It’s not just a 9 – 5 place, and someone is there ²⁴⁄₇. I fully trust these owners and employees with my dog. I 100% feel as though if there was EVER a medical emergency they would get her to a vet or contact me or both ASAP. The place is clean, and they have a great system for boarding, feeding, etc.
I’m a hairdresser and I have referred numerous clients. I wish there was a referral incentive, I think it would help their business. I will continue to take my dog here, they feel like family!

Our lab loves this place. He always comes home and sleeps for two days because he is exhausted. It’s clean, and the staff loves the animals. This is his fifth year going there, and we won’t take him anywhere else. It’s also way more convenient than the other 24 hour doggie boarding facilities :)

After going through their evaluation process, we boarded our puggle and min pin at Doggie Oasis for the first time this past weekend. On Saturday, the owner called us to say that our min pin had been attacked by a large dog but only had a small wound. They did take my dog to the vet, where he had to have surgery on his neck. When we arrived back in town on Sunday, we picked up our dogs and found our dog’s injury to be worse than originally described. Not only is my baby injured and traumatized, they expected us to pay the boarding fees.
I would not recommend anyone leave their dog (s) at this facility based on neglect and lack of competency.

Our Lhasa Apso was well overdue for a good grooming & badly matted. We thought the only option was to shave her bald, as 2 other groomers in Las Vegas had done before… causing distress, anxiety & depression for weeks. And that was just the dog!
To our surprise & sheer joy (pun intended!), we returned 4hrs later to find the happiest, cutest, neatest, short-​haired version of our furry family member! :)
Nothing short of a miracle!!! Complete with funky bandana around her neck.
Hooray!
We’ll never take her anywhere else again.
Extremely thankful & appreciative of the time, love & attention they gave to our dog.

Do not bring your dog here. Seriously don’t. This place has no idea how to handle dogs and has done nothing but to make fearful dog more fearful and act around any dog over 15 pounds. Do not take your pet here, if you love your dog search for reputable place with good reviews.

I have taken my dogs to 4 other doggy day care centers previously because I travel a lot, with my dogs. They are well seasoned to the ins and outs of how to behave with other dogs and have spent probably at least 2 days a week their entire lives (3 years) socializing off leash with other dogs. They might have some other annoying habits, but when it comes to dog socialization and getting through a day at a dog day care, they are A students. My experience at Doggie Oasis was bizarre to say the least. I was made to stay about 40minutes while the owner brought each of the that days dogs through to meet my dogs to see if they would get along. A typical initial «tryout“period lasts about 10 minutes and it is then obvious whether or not your dog Is suitable to stay. The owner was very naïve about the characteristics of my dogs breed. I understand people tend to freak out when the word «Bull » is associated with the word «dog», (such as Pit Bull). But I have English Bulldogs… little portly guys who look like fire hydrants on legs and tend to spend their days laying on the floor sleeping. There is no evidence anywhere that suggests these dogs are aggressive, yet I felt they were being given the «pit Bull» run through. The form of discipline she uses is squirting water into the dogs face to get them to stop a behavior. WHILE I personally don’t have an issue with that, I knew which of my dogs would respond to that and which one would not. My one dog didn’t need water in his face. He needed to know who was the boss (or Alpha) in the group and he would behave based upon his confidence in her ability to keep things in control. My dog became to play with a plastic toy she didn’t want him to play with and she approached him with fear over and over again squirting water in his eyes. As I watched I knew he could feel her fear and while I knew he wouldn’t hurt her, he was going to make her stop squirting water in his eyes so he challenged her with a lunge for her bottle. He knew he had the power to make her stop.
Overall I think the knowledge and expertise of the people who are working with these dogs is lacking. Without establishing a firm presence of Alpha within their environment they are opening themselves up to all sorts of possible dog behavior problems in the future. I actually found the young woman who did my intake to have the most common sense of anybody there.

I took my very small dog to Doggie Oasis to use their self wash facility. One of the staff members was there washing someone’s dog that they had left for the day. The dog was not super excited about the bath, so they were using a leash instead of the slip loops on the tub and table. I was utterly horrified when the groomer turned her back on the dog after they put it the drier table. The dog attempted to jump down and in the process ended up basically hanging its self. I yelled to get her attention, and she quickly helped the dog up on to the table. That poor dog was traumatized, and they had to be pretty forceful to finish the blow dry and nail trim. All I could think was how that poor dog’s owner would never know what I saw there. Then after I was done washing my dog (they had no loops small enough for my dog, I had to hold him the whole time), I asked for the nail clippers. I was told that they no longer provided them despite the fact it was listed on the website and it was part of the reason I even went there. I was nicely told that the staff could do it for me… for an additional $ 5. What a bait and switch. Before leaving, I looked around. Looking into the small dog area, part of it was partitioned off and the mop bucket was stored right in there. Who knows what chemicals were stored in there! All in all I would never leave my precious pooch there, or be back for another self wash.

I wanted to love this place. It’s a convenient location for me and my friend loves it and takes her 30-​pound mixed dog here all the time. Barbara, the day care owner, seems very nice and friendly.
I am drafting this review while watching my 5-​month old, 9 pound puppy pace and tremble — by himself — in a reception area. I handed my pup over to Barbara and she quickly put him in this empty area so she could help break up a big dog fight. I totally get that. Though there were 2 bigger guys in that dog area already that were breaking it up.
But now it’s been 15 minutes. After the big dog fight was broken up, everyone went back to playing with the big dogs and thoroughly ignoring the small dogs… and forgot all about the wee puppy in the waiting area. He’s trembling and sitting by the door without his collar on. The door is unlocked (they lock it around 3 pm), so if someone were to open that, he could bolt and get hit by a car since the door is right up against the parking lot. Paranoid dog mum? Perhaps. But it’s common sense. I expect better from a dog-​centered facility.
Which brings me to the fact that this is the second offense. My pup went for his evaluation two weeks ago. They have webcams (that’s a plus) and I checked in on him from time to time throughout the day. I had to call because my pup and two other dogs were left and forgotten in a hallway barred by a gate for over a half hour. I waited and checked in periodically to see if someone would come get them and let them play in the slightly larger small dog room, but no one came to get them. It seems all their attention is on the big dogs and they pen the little guys in this tiny room. You can’t even play a game of fetch with the dogs in that small space.
I am not willing to try this place a third time.
Other things that brought the star rating down for me:
1. The whole place smells like chemicals, most likely from the grooming stations in the front. I’m not necessarily okay with having my dog breathe in those fumes all day long.
2. It’s busy, which is a good thing, but there may be too many dogs for them to handle since there is not enough attention and observation going to the small dogs.
3. It’s rundown, but *is* a dog grooming/​day care place, after all. I do not expect a gorgeous interior from a dog daycare, but I do expect more of an effort.
4. It is $ 30 per day and goes down to $ 25 on a package. Everyone else in town starts at $ 20 – 25 per day and goes down to as low as $ 11 on a package. Let it be known, however, that I would gladly pay $ 30 per day for a truly outstanding day care, but this falls short and does not justify the price.
Sidenote:
The groomer, Jackie, is funny and adorable, and definitely good at what she does. There is also a really sweet guy there named Jesse that clearly loves the dogs, though he sticks more to the big dog area.

My dog loves it here. As a aussie shepherd, he needs a lot of exercise and he has a great time here running around and playing with other dogs. The folks working here seem to know the dogs by name after you drop them off a few times. My dog always comes home tired after playing for hours.

We boarded our 2 dogs (9 year old and 6 month old) here for 2 weeks over Christmas and New Year's. We were able to watch our babies on the webcams everyday and they seemed to be having a great time! We didn’t even feel the need to call and check on them. After checkout they each had report cards, New Years pictures and toys. They were very well taken care of and now I think they'll sleep for the next 2 weeks! We love Doggie Oasis and so do our dogs.

I absolutely believe this is the best place to board my dog, unfortunately it’s rather far from where I live, but if I’m leaving my dog alone for more than 3 days, I’ll bring her here, because I think the care is worth the drive. Each dog undergoes a pre-​screening to make sure it can behave in the pack order setting. Every time I’ve left Ruby here, she comes home tired after days of playing nonstop! The rate is about $ 30/​day, $ 45 if you’re going to board your dog. Each dog gets a «report card» when you take her home, which tells you how she slept, ate, and did her business. The workers here are always very friendly and know your dog by name even after just a few days of boarding. They’re very good about special requirements for your dog. If you refer a customer, you get a day of free daycare. I definitely recommend doggie daycare if your dog is sociable and loves to play. The dogs always have ²⁴⁄₇ supervision and the workers there break up potential scuffles before they escalate, i.e. spraying the dogs with water (which is what I do to discipline my dog anyway).

It’s really sad that so many people leave their cherished dogs here to be cared for.
I was horrified by the person who was working there when I came to pick up my doggie (this place pays their workers minimum wage…$ 5-​something an hour, I think.)
Also, the dogs are just put into a room where they walk around in circles all day… no one there pays any attention to them.
My dog was very scared when I left her there for four hours (I thought that it was the best thing at the time) and when I returned to pick her up, her face was completely wet and she was so sad. It turns out that the person who was working there was spraying her in the face with water every time that she barked!
Please get a dog sitter instead of leaving your dog here.
