Game Repair

I’m actually really surprised to see all the negative reviews about customer service for the store. I dealt directly with the owner and his wife and found them both very helpful. I had an issue with a Super Nintendo adapter that I bought a few months ago from their store. I brought it back in today to see if they could help me with it, (I didn’t have my receipt, but did have the original packaging). The owner was more than willing to help explain the set-​up to me, and even gave me a new connector cable on my way out the door free of charge. I would definitely come back to check out some games because of how accommodating the couple was to me! He even showed me where to plug in the cords. Thanks so much! :)

This place is AWESOME!!! Brian is knowledgeable & a straight shooter. He tells it like it is, and is a man of his word. These guys have done two repairs for me and are top notch at what they do. Their prices are reasonable, and I will continue to be a loyal customer for all my gaming needs. Look no further, these guys are the real deal!

I just left 2 minutes ago, just got kicked out because the owner was rude and basically kicked me out when I was trying to sell some video games. I felt that he was low balling me and I just decided to get three video games back that he told me were scratched. SCRATCHED!!! I just said, alright, I’ll sell them on EBay then. He felt offended and kicked me out. Down right bad customer service. Will not come back here again. I have valuable games that I wanted to sell and I will take them somewhere else where people get treated like people. I felt like trash while everyone looked at me. Great people skills. I will continue telling everyone that I know about my experience here, because that is what happened. How does a place with bad customer service stay open?

DO NOT GO TO GAME REPAIR at 3250 N. Tenaya Way Las Vegas. I can see why the other ratings say Extremely Rude Staff. The owner is crazy. He yelled at me «Don’t do that!» I had no clue what he meant, turns out I committed the crime of «looking» at someone who was selling him games, so that meant I was going to attempt to «undercut» him. I was so insulted by his DELUSIONAL accusations, I wanted to return the purchase I had just made, but hence, he has a no cash back within ANY time period policy. Much better prices & return policy at any pawn shop anyway. I would pay full price anyway to not have to deal with this guy. Note to owner: My husband & I are in our 40’s & although we have of course experienced some poor service in our lives, you can note from our profile that this is the ONLY review we have ever written because you are so offensive! Go get help for yourself! When you are miserable, just know that it is because of your own bad karma.

Wow! I have never experienced customer service like I just did. I called an asked for a manager and someone comes on the phone and says very bluntly «who’s this?» I explained I’m a customer who wanted to express a concern about the employees attitude but I see that the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree. He asks are you with the credit card company? I say «no» he obviously speaks to someone next to him and states «she’s not the credit card lady!» Yelling while I’m on the other end of the receiver. If this is any indication on how you treat customers over the phone I’d hate to see what you do in person.

Extremely rude staff. Completely unwilling to help and only responded with sarcasm. I asked their repair guy if they fixed virtual boys, and he responded with «This isn’t 1992, so you’re out of luck.»

I called the owner up from Game Repair and had a full on conversation about selling and buying video games from him. He is the most rude obnoxious person I have ever met. I will never do business with this company again. Few days before all this happened, I purchased two video games from him. Later I come to find out that the games don’t work at all. I came back and talked to the owner. He basically said to bad I won’t exchange it or give you a refund. DON’T SHOP AT THIS STORE!

My dog knocked my Xbox 360 off my desk (he wanted Doritos) and the tray wouldn’t shut. I brought it here and they fixed it for me. No issues since and i also picked up a n64 game that works great

Recently had an Xbox One update problem and they fixed it no questions asked and were very professional. They are a very busy store, but is worth the wait!
Very knowledgable staff. Will come here again!

This is my second review, and I give Game Repair 4 stars this time because I had an issue (if you read my first review you will know) and it got resolved. After I posted my first review, the owner’s son messaged me and apologized for the mistake. He offered me a partial refund. I wasn’t expecting that! He sent out the refund in a timely manner. He even gave me the tracking number! haha. It’s nice that the owner’s son reads the reviews and offers some compensation. I’m sure every bad experience is different though. I’m completely satisfied that my issue has been resolved!

Buy, sell, trade, fix… everything. Had some old DS games and a DS brought it in to trade or sell. They ended up fixing my Wii and throwing in some games!

First off let me start by saying I am a vintage Nintendo Entertainment Video Game Collector. So when I saw this store I got excited. I had checked this store out 3 or 4 times prior to this visit and I must say it started out good and ended up being terrible.
Here is my experience.
I walked in the door at 11:31 am. I was greated by a female employee who I believe is the owners wife. She was quite friendly as she always has been in mt previous visits. I start looking at the Original Nintendo games on the wall. As im looking I see a ton of «common» games. However one catches my eye as this game would catch any collectors eye. Its «Power Blade 2» im thinking Wow, this is going to be awsome. Then I look at it closely. The label has minor damage and there is writing on the cartridge with a sever rattle in the case. As I buyer im still excited. Then the owner comes over and says hi. I responded hello and asked him how much the game would cost since there are no price tags on any items. He said the games on the wall are $ 5.00 to $ 10.00 depending on the game. He then says this game «Power Blade 2» was $ 8.00 im thinking… ohh yeah! I agree to purchase the game. When I get to the counter he says to me. «My son says this game is broken and I cant sell it» I explained to the man that I didnt care that it was broken im buying thee game as is. Then he said «Hey you can call me a fucking asshole and you can say what ever you want. Im not selling you the game at $ 8.00» I replied sir I am a respectable adult and I dont speak to people the way you do. He then apologized for the language and said im still not selling the game. I told the man I understand. You made a mistake on the price and you didnt know the value to the game. I asked him so what will you sell the game for and he looked at me and walked off saying «ive got to check each game in my store now. Someones in trouble» I went to leave and he said «Good Riddance»
Now im no genius but I dont think thats the way you should run a business. The man could have at least game me a new price quote. Maybe he needs to learn how to be professional and run a business. Fact is this guy and his store is a bunch of jerks and they should be shut down. No price tags on items so he can screw you at the register. He price quotes then looks it up on eBay and trys to bend you over. Personally if I was having a bad day I would have punched him in his mouth for talking too me the way he did.
My advice is take your money to Wii Play Games or Zia Records or even Gameworld. These are local Las Vegas shops who sell vintage games without insulting you and cussing at you. Or better yet shop on eBay at least then your protected as a buyer from greedy doush bags like this guy. Thanks.

This place is bad. Customer service was okay I guess. Game prices were ridiculous and had somewhat decent stuff. This place is more for repairs and customization than buying games. The only problem is that the games are too overpriced and the condition of the boxes, cases and games were either dirty, sticky or dusty. When I told the manager that the game boxes and cartridges were dirty, he immediately showed me the disc of the game saying that it’s clean like I’m some kind of idiot. Plus what I hated the most was that after I told the guy that the game was dirty, he was talking behind my back! Like he was mocking me. Plus the game prices are a little too pricey. Most of the games have at least a 30%-120% markup on older consoles from what they are actually worth. $ 5 game marking it up to $ 13. WOW. WHAT A GREAT DEAL. here’s a pro tip to buyers, only repair new Gen consoles instead of ps2 or dvd players. You will save a lot of money. Overall, this place sucks (and a ripoff). They do have ok service .Just buy new stuff. Just go on ebay and customize yourself.

I’ve stopped by here for retro games many times. Good business people, know their stuff. Thankfully I have never needed a game system repaired but this would be my first call. Highly recommend.

I brought my PS2 in here for a quick power input repair. I was in the store for maybe 20 minutes while the owner and repair man talked about games and gaming systems and soldered my PS2 back to working order. He charged $ 25 for this repair which is a far better deal than buying a new system. I got it home and played all day. It had been a long time and I was sorely our of practice. I’m glad I finally brought it in for repair. It felt good to game again. And if I ever feel the need to buy an old school game for my classic NES I know where to come. Game Repair sells those old cartridges for a reasonable price.

my husband and i came here the other day to hunt for some games for our collection. we’re from san jose ca and everytime we travel we always try to look up shops that sell retro games. we came up on super castlevania 4 and axelay on the snes. got a great deal on them. the owner of the place was extremely passionate about retro games. i loved that about him. you can tell when someone is genuinely a gamer or someone is just there to sell (like the guys at gamers paradise) will definitely stop by here again when we’re back in vegas!

This place is GREAT! We were having trouble with our Xbox — a lifeline for our 10 year old. I thought we would have to tAke it to Henderson to get fixed. Brian just gave it a good cleaning and it works like a charm. We will definitely be back if we have any more trouble with our gaming systems. Thanks Brian!

These guys are great. Super friendly and they know what their talking about. They always have what I’m looking for. I will be back again for any repairs I need or just to buy games

I collect old video game systems, and as you can guess, they’re not as easy to come by these days.
Like an idiot, I followed a DIY (Do It Yourself) that I found online to clean the screen of an Atari Lynx, and it went bad. It went really bad.
Their game repair is mostly in regards to the more current systems. My 20+ year old system was out of their jurisdiction. After admitting that they don’t have the experience to work on such a piece, the owner paused for a moment, then asked me to bring it in anyway. He would take a look at it.
The store itself is nice. They have a ton of old gaming stuff, even if what I brought in was just on the cusp of what they didn’t have. But what they didn’t have they tried anyway. Let me reiterate that. Even though my system wasn’t in their realm of repair expertise, rather than turn me away, they made an effort to help me regardless. That spoke volumes to me, and the repair job status become somewhat irrelevant (though I still wanted it fixed, mind you).
And for their so-​called «lack of expertise», they did a fine job anyway. Mind you, I really made a mess of my attempted repair job, but the level that they attempted to restore it was worlds better than what I accomplished. At any rate, they made it functional again, which was greatly appreciated.
The place is small, but they have some things that I haven’t seen in years. The staff gave me (admittedly deserved) flack for my botching my system, but it was good-​natured, and I enjoyed talking with them as they worked on it. The price was right, and more than fair as well. I walked out very happy, and will frequent them again.
For a «Mom ‘N’ Pop», this place is a classy little find with a lot of heart. It’s nice to see that places like this still exist.

Place that repairs games. yeah, i guess.
More like a place where you can sell new and used games. A place where you can play a couple really old school arcade games. A shop that delivers when it comes to trying to find the old game consoles or the brand new ones too.
Fantastic over the top service. I know nothing about games and he talked to me as if i was a genius. He explained everything and what the differences were. I could tell he was one of those geeky guys. Hell, better for me. I was there to buy my hubby the original game console. Shoot i already forgot what it was called.. but doesnt matter the guy new :) Everything is well maintained and looks brand new, whether it is or not. I was surprised about how small the shop is but in the end it really does have everything you need.
Was goingt o buy the single player but he told me it was only a 5 dollar difference to upgrade to the twin so i did. It came to 50 bucks. Cheap! i had looked online and couldnt find it cheaper than 75 for a single. He also made sure to put the warranty in my husbands name so that if he came back it would be easier. The consoles warranty was for a year.
I’ve been to many other game repair shops and always seemed like they were ghetto and unsuccessful at getting my hubby excited. When we passed this shop a couple months ago my husband was jumping for joy. This place is amazing and i cant wait to come back and buy some more «guy» game stuff from him.
