Huntington Learning Center

I own a Huntington Learning Center on the East Coast. I came across this review and I would like to comment on some unusual statements that are contained in the one star review above.
1. The parents must have been pleased with the results of the College Entrance Exam Prep Course their older daughter took at the center or else they would not have gone back for their younger son.
2. Many negative reviews are written by competitors to malign their competition. This appears to potentially be one.
3. Most Huntington franchises offer free testings to siblings. It is likely that this center has the same policy further questioning the authenticity of this review.
4. After reading the comment about the young blonde employee multiple times, I still cannot make sense of what the writer is trying to say occurred at the center. Was he trying to say that he was being so loud and argumentative that she was asking him to leave? If that is the case, I would say the employee was acting in a responsible manner as the children attending tutoring sessions at the center should not be exposed to a loud argumentative adult.
I have operated a Huntington Learning Center in Bethlehem, Pa for two years. I have met many franchise owners from across the country. The one common trait that I consistently observe is a dedication to providing the best education possible for every child enrolled in their center. I have no doubt that the operator of this Las Vegas Huntington Learning Center has the exact same dedication and is evidenced by the success of the daughter of the author of the negative review.

If I could give no stars I would. This place lies and are unprofessional. I went there to have a test proctored and I did NOT get my money’s worth. I was told I could take $ 95 for all three exams I had. When I took my first exam they put me in a room that people were coming in and out of, leaving the door open, and the place was annoyingly load. They did not check my id. I could have had ANYONE take that exam for me and they would have never known it.
I then went to take my next two exams and they wanted me to pay $ 190! They would not work with me and said it was $ 95 because of the «excellent service». DO NOT COME HERE FOR ANYTHING! EVER!

Truly disappointed with the Director (Lesta) of this learning center — first of all, she did not show up for our first meeting, has poor bookkeeping and kept asking for more money even if we just paid, did not get to talk to my son’s school counselor as she said she would during our initial consultation and lastly, failed to return multiple calls even if receptionist physically put my son’s chart on her desk.
Her unprofessional behavior has put a bad reputation to this learning center. Good thing, tutors were better than her.

I wouldn’t give these people a minute of my time or a cent of my hard earned money after being treated with total and utter disrespect. Apparently in their minds, a woman isn’t capable of making such a complex decision to sign her child up for tutoring without «the man of the house» around. Not only would they not initiate the process, but the whole scene went down in their lobby without the decency of asking me a single question. The best reason they gave for not meeting us was that there was too much information and resources to share for one parent to comprehend. But don’t worry, she assured me she wasn’t «insulting my intelligence». Save your money and go somewhere else.

Huntington sucks. Amanda is the only good tutor and she’s not even that great. The other tutors can’t even pronounce vocabulary words correctly, much less know what the words mean. They have lowered my score by 10 points each time with their fantastic «Huntington learning techniques». Huntington is a big waste of money and not worth anyone’s time. If you want to raise your SAT score I’d suggest getting a private tutor or teach yourself. And yes, this review IS genuine. This is my full experience and I suggest not coming here because it’s so expensive and for nothing.

My oldest daughter was having trouble completing anything at school. At the end of the first grade they school indicated that we are going to pass her but you need help.
I did some research and they guarantee results. I had her in a two a week program all during the end of the grade year and through the summer and she has made a remarkable improvement
They brought her up from barely finishing Kindergarten level to 2^nd grade level.
Don’t know where she would be without the help. :)
