It’s a Piece of Cake

Tried a vanilla cupcake the worst ever it tasted like cornbread with a very light good tasting vanilla frosting, weird. I also tried a reese cup one that was chocolate cake and peanut butter frosting it was very moist. But you know sometimes you get only one shot to wow or move a customer and if you don’t do it right the first time, there just wont be another chance, this was one of those times.

Cupcakes were extremely good especially for gluten free. Nice and fluffy and lite. Loved the chocolate frosting. Will definitely be back although not quite as much as I would like with the cupcakes being $ 2.75 each (over $ 30 for a dozen was quite a bit but I’d pay it for my wife’s birthday)

Very disappointed. I spent an hour on Unilocal sifting through reviews on bakery’s in Vegas offering cupcakes that were flavorful and decorative. My nieces 4 yr old birthday party was ninja turtle themed and Its A Piece of Cake showed they were talented in that department. All the reviews gave them pretty high remarks. I called a week in advance for my order of 1 dozen cupcakes. Cindy took my order, we were looking to go all out and order 3 different kind of turtle cupcakes. 4 fondant turtle heads 4 iced and 4 screenprint. Cindy let me know the screen print were only available in a quantity of 12. We didn’t mind so we paid for the 12 but only asked actually to receive 4. We asked for one cupcake for the birthday girl be a Michael Angelo cupcake designed w a 4 especially for her. Cindy passed the phone along to her assistant to take the payment which came to 42 $ and scheduled the pick up for noon the day of the party. Seemed simple and satisfying.
We arrived at 12 to pick up our order. WHAT ORDER… That was comforting… Cindy said she didn’t have an order scheduled for pick up that day. Impossible. I called to clarify how this had happened. When I ran over our convo w her of me ordering, it jogged her memory and which she agreed the order was actually placed. She then called back to let me know that she indeed had the order but somehow had been misfiled. Funny how the card was charged just fine. So now that she was able to verify the order WAS actually placed Cindy frazzled, asked if we wanted then still. I told her I needed them as soon as possible, she confirmed she had the turtle screenprint to fulfill the order. I pressed for a time to pick the treats up she hesitated but gave me an hour and a half time frame. She mentioned a refund for the catastrophe, which was thoughtful.
Cindy calls in an hour saying the cupcakes were done and wanted to let me know they’d been picked up.
The person picking up the cupcakes said Cindy was quite short w them, didn’t offer an apology, nor did she mention anything again about the refund. I called back to inquire about the refund, she assured me she would pass it along to accounting. It would’ve been nice for her just to reassure someone when the cupcakes were being picked up that she was thoroughly following up w her offer. Now things finally seemed to have been semi-​corrected and compensated for… Until I saw the cupcakes… I guess since Cindy had decided she was refunding the purchase that she didn’t need to actually fulfill the order we had placed? She supplemented what cupcakes she wanted to make… One type of cupcake, iced. What happened to the cupcake heads and the screenprint cupcakes which she confirmed on the phone she had? Better yet the birthday girls’ cupcake??? The cupcake icing had been disturbed and everything. What a waste of our damn time and hopes…
We’ve tried calling Cindy… Our calls have not been answered nor returned… What a Circus. I’ve attached a photo of our birthday cupcakes.

This is the 2^nd time I’ve tried this place. I really wish it was better because I live within walking distance. I can’t remember what I had the first time, that says a lot. This time we got the carrot cake and German chocolate. The carrot cake was really dense, it was mediocre at best. The chocolate, I took a bite and threw it away along with the 2^nd one we bought. There was no taste to the cake and it just wasn’t good enough to waste the calories on. They definitely look pretty but the taste isn’t there.

On a mission looking for cupcakes. Decided to take a drive all the way out here from the Northwest area.
It’s a cute little shop, and there were a few selections to choose from. We got a birthday cake pop, strawberry cupcake, and Reece’s cupcake.
We waited until we got home to try them, but we shouldn’t have. It’s pretty hot out today, so even though we had it in a cooler it kind of looked unappealing by the time we made it home.
Cake pop must’ve been good since our 5 year old gobbled it before we went back to our car. As for the cupcakes. They were ok. They weren’t really moist and the frosting seemed to sweet for me. I don’t know why though since I love sweets! Don’t think we’ll be back unless we’re in the area.

I was excited to see this place. I had my 4 yr old neice this day. She loves cupcakes, all things pink. We went in, the server was nice, she promptly took our order. We ordered, the champagne pink cupcake, a lemon & birthday cupcakes. They presented well, they looked perfect. They did not taste bad, just regular. They did not dazzle me. I could have baked these at home.

The cronut I had was not anything I would ever want again. But then again, I’d never had a cronut before. Maybe they are supposed to be like that.
Closed on Sundays, when half of Southern Highlands is milling about, waiting on a table at the only decent food around (next door at Rise & Shine) seems like an egregious business error.

Their cupcakes are beyond heaven for a quick gourmet treat! The frosting isn’t fake sweet & the only frosting I don’t leave on the plate/​trash. The cakes I see look phenomenal & if/​when I need a to die for cake that will blow the socks of ppl I’ll come here.

Got half a dozen red velvet cupcakes for my birthday this year. And even a day later, the cupcakes were still full of flavorful and still very moist.
I know there’s a tonnnnnn of cupcake stores here in Vegas and from personal experience, you really can’t go wrong with most of them. But from what I’ve seen with «It’s a Piece of Cake,» they specialize in intricate cake designs. Just take a look at some of the pictures on here. WOW! Almost too pretty to eat!!!

The red velvet cupcakes are out of this world! Cant wait to try the german chocolate cupcakes my next visit! Im hooked !!

I’ve been in love with the Cup Cakery for a long time now they have a great selection of unique cupcakes but they are overly expensive it’s $ 50 for A Dozen…
so I decided to give this place a try living in the area
On entry the set up is really cute but when I say they had NO CUPCAKES They seriously had none it was after 3pm and the young employees had to go back & forth to the back to ask if each cupcake I selected could be done in a short period of time he came back and stated it would take 30+ mins to make me 3 cupcakes then he went back to the back after waiting 5 mins for him to come back to the front I just walked out and won’t be returning

Best Carrot cake I’ve ever had.
Their cupcakes are so yummy. I love getting their carrot cake and oreo cupcakes. You can tell that all their ingredients are fresh and they’re not super pricey either. It’s a Piece of Cake is a must if you’re in the southwest area. Its way better than Sprinkles (tbh; no offense to Sprinkles; but these guys take the cake).haha

The cakewiches at this bakery are not only adorable but incredibly delicious! The cake is SO moist and the fillings are perfectly sweet. The peanut butter and jelly cakewich was ridiculously good.

Ordered a last minute cake for my mom’s birthday 3 days before her birthday. My mom specifically wanted a candy crush themed cake and it came out so good. The details were so on point and the price for it was pretty reasonable. I will definitely come back for more birthdays!!!

Beyond words! Amazing place. After shopping around other bakeries I stumbled across its a piece of cake and I’m so glad I did. I had a custom little mermaid cake for my daughters birthday it was amazing! Love at first sight, it was a hit at the party! Not only was it beautiful it was delicious! And the price couldn’t be beat it will officially be my #1 go to bakery for birthday cakes. THANK YOU CINDY!

I’ve had all of my kids birthday cakes made by It’s a piece of cake the last cake we ordered was a Mikey ninja turtle cake which was chocolate cake with Oreo filling, can you say HEAVEN!
I also go all the time just to get cupcakes I live in Aliante so it’s a long drive but totally worth it I have to tell all my co workers when I’m going so I can get them their «fix»!
We walk out with a few dozen cupcakes every time!
I recommend them to everyone!

While my boyfriend and I were waiting for our take out order from Spaghetty Western, I decided to look at this cupcake place next door. I read some of the reviews and a few had said that their strawberry cupcake was very good. And I LOVE strawberry so I was like, «Why not! Let’s just try one!»
So we went in to order exactly that strawberry cupcake. The place was very basic with limited flavors/​varieties to their cupcakes. Everything was quite simple. Each cupcake are $ 2.75 each I believe, so a little bit less than $ 3 per cupcake. The presentation was very cute and there was a heart on top.
However, when we ate the cupcake, the frosting was HEAVY and SWEET. I suppose you can say it was rich. There was strawberry flavor … to the FROSTING. But because it was way too sweet for me, I had to scrape the majority of the frosting off but when I ate the rest of the cupcake that way, it no longer had any strawberry flavor to it. There was no flavor to the cake.
I was quite disappointed. I remember glancing at a review and someone said there were actual strawberries in their frosting … but there were none.
It wasn’t particularly super moist either. I’ve had better.
A-​okay but don’t think I’ll return.

Decent cake, Mickey/​Minnie theme for twins (boy & girl… The accent was misplaced in her name unfortunately). Moist cake and the butter cream was velvety. It was a perfect size for about a dozen kids plus parents … Only had 3 thin slices leftover! My only complaint is that the fondant was really thick, kids were peeling it off and throwing it away, eating only the «cake». Also know that we told them we’d pick up the cake by 5pm, arrived close to 4 and the cake wasn’t ready yet… Figured an hour wouldn’t matter but in this case it did; went back at 5 and it was done.

I wanted a «beer pong» cake for my boyfriend’s birthday. Before placing my order I shopped around and priced what my cake would be. I chose this place because it was by far the cheapest for the result I wanted.
When I called to place my order they were super helpful. I asked what idea they had in mind and they said they would use their marshmallow based fondant and build little cups. Exactly what I was envisioning!
It’s a drive from where I live but when I finally saw the cake I knew it was well worth it! It was much bigger than I thought it would be and it was placed on a big piece of wood so it was super sturdy since i told them i would be transporting it to Brian Head for the weekend. They even helped me to my car!
My boyfriend loved it and so did everyone else. I chose red velvet and it tasted just as good as it looked. The cake was moist and really tasty. I’m personally not a big fan of frosting but the frosting was very good. I’d definitely make the drive and order a cake here again!
