IYE: The Chickergorby Extravaganza

Can we say delicious? Popeyes say goodbye BFG has you beat 100% The food was so good!!! My favorite was the fried chicken strips with the BFG sauce :) The Mac and cheese was to die for! If it wasn’t so far I’d make it a must once a week! Terri did a great job on picking this place and the games to play. It was a blast for my first Unilocal event! I can’t wait to go to more Unilocal events!

Congratulations to Terri and the crew at BFG’s for throwing an awesome IYE on Sunday. The hubs and I are already fans of BFG’s but throw in a bunch of fun-​loving Unilocalers and a challenging game of Scattergories? The experience can’t be beat.
What a spread! All of the menu items were served buffet style and we got to enjoy a taste of the best BFG’s can offer. Crispy fries, succulent chicken, gooey Mac n’ Cheese… So many goodies, it’s a shame my stomach can only hold so much! Service as always was awesome!
Jin and Terri served as consummate hosts and refereed Scattergories with skill. Although our team didn’t win (many congrats to Thao for her much deserved Chumby win), I believe the hubs (August) made a heroic if not memorable effort. I seriously doubt people will forget his offering for offensive word starting with «F» anytime soon. I think some people may never be quite the same again, lol!
All in all good times were had by all! Thanks again for the great IYE, Terri!

I think I’m in love. Seriously. Raising Cane WHO? The Grilled and Fried strips were my favorite. AMAZING! The baked Mac n Cheese was like Velveeta on crack. The garlic toast mmmmmm and root beer floats after?! OHHH LALA! A great event, fun and I love scatagories!

I am glad Terry, our awesome Unilocaltern, was able to organize this at BFG on a day when they are normally closed. Big thanks for the BFG crew (Jin, Tin, and Jin’s mother and sister) for taking the time on their recuperation day to cook for a small group of us.
The chicken strips were as delicious as always. And for those that have not frequented BFG on a regular basis, it was a excellent way to try out all their dipping sauces, and pretty much everything on their menu. The Mac & Cheese side was a big hit, and the fries and chicken strips goes great with a combination of Creamy Wasabi and Honey Mustard.
Scattergory was interesting. I think as a group we discovered how interesting and out of the box some of us can think under pressure. I think we had the most fun with the letter F. And the team of Misti and Booby was a formidable force in the game, as their team won first place and blew everyone away in total points.
Overall, it was an excellent way to spend a few hours during the hot Las Vegas afternoon on a Sunday.

What a great way to spend my Sunday afternoon. tried chicken strips, 3 style with so many different sauces, played scattegories with awesome Unilocalers, learned that durian is green, meeting Jin. all made possible by our one and only, awesomest Unilocaltern EVA!!!
Wow, the fried chicken strips. They were lightly battered to the right amount of crispiness. I enjoyed them w/​ranch and wasabi cream dipping sauce. The grilled and baked chicken strips were so yummy w/​the sweet chili. The rootbeer float at the end was so unexpected. It was such a treat and a great way to end the afternoon.

Excellent excuse to finally visit a place I’ve had on my list for ages. I’m blown away by how supremely generous some of our local business owners are. Jin and Tin are no exception, along with Jin’s Mom and sister. To open up their business on a day they are normally closed and give us a mighty fun afternoon — that’s just amazing to me. Jin’s a kewl dude… in a chicken hat no less.
Speaking of which… I’d have to say their fried chicken strips are slightly better than Cane’s. No joke. It’s that good. It’s a close race between their fried and grilled chicken, but I’ll have to give the edge to fried. The baked chicken is good too. My sauce combo of choice is to mix Wasabi Cream with Honey Mustard, and maybe throw in some of their Sweet Chili Sauce.
I’m not big into Scattergories, but everyone had a great time. I’m glad Thao was the lucky winner of the Chumby. Overall, it was an über fun afternoon with great food and great people.

Food was Fantastic (I love the Fried chicken strips) and the store Full of Familiar Friends Felt like Family.
I loved the opportunity to try the baked and grilled chicken as I have only ordered the Fried in the past. Thanks to Jin, Tin, Jin’s mom and Jin’s sister for the food and way to go Terri — your IYE was really creative and fun.
The mac & cheese side was supremely creamy/​cheesy and BFG’s french fries were crispy and hot. Salad was very fresh and the range of dressings/​dipping sauces ensured something for everyone.
Always great to hang with Unilocalers on a Sunday afternoon and the afterparty celebrating Tony T’s birthday was a good time.
August and Candace should plan a series of UYEs called F*#%h Fridays at BFG this August?

From the beginning I knew this was going to be a unique event. The first IYE for Las Vegas. The name of the event itself. Having to write a jingle/​poem for a chance to attend. Being able to sample the goods on a day when the business is normally closed! Nothing says special like having a private party with food, fun, and fried chicken. F was the letter of the day!
This was my first visit to BFG, and it left an awesome impression. My friend Mark and I already asked Jin if he could prepare some chicken strips for a potluck that we are going to; after trying all three varieties of chicken and their mac and cheese, we knew we had to share this food with our friends.
The fun portion of the event involved a five team Scattergories tournament. It was hilarious seeing what words other teams came up with; some surprising (letter F anyone?) and some not so surprising (Tien and hookers).
With this being the first event thrown by Vegas’ own Unilocal Intern, we can rest assured that anything planned by Terri will be a success.
Also, dolphin fish.

With a name like chickergorby, it was destined to be a cluckin’ good time! The first ever IYE had all of the elements of the perfect event: killer name, delicious dishes, cut-​throat competition, and a comfortable dose of inappropriate humor, which generated a timeless laugh adored by many (even if it makes me blush).
BFG blew it away with an impressive sampling from their menu. They were beyond generous! I was happy to be able to sample the grilled, as I had not had this version previously. It had a nice charred flavor, and it made me happy to know there is another non-​fried option that pleases my taste buds. I will say that those fried chickies are so hard to resist! I had to wrestle the mac ‘n’ cheese away from my husband. Dangerously delicious. I definitely need to keep this on my short list for lunch spots.
The game was dy-​no-​mite. Am I saying that just because my team won? Maybe. Either way I appreciated the extra effort that Terri and Jin put into developing a fun activity to bring us all closer together. Thanks to the trusty letter «F,» Jin, August, and most importantly Terri, we all have a memory to share forever!
I’m down with BFG! As long as the F only means fried. ;)

Was lucky enough to be able to attend this wonderful event. Hopefully there will be more events like this one because it was a hilarious good time and the food was, of course, delicious!
The fierce competition was super fun. Terri and Jin hosted a fantastic game of Scattergories. I learned a word that I will be inserting into conversations ever chance I get.
