I want to start my review by saying that Reyna is very nice and I think she is probably talented at doing hair.
That’s where my good experience ended. When I called to make the appt (it was my first time trying this salon) I told the receptionist what I wanted and that I needed to leave at a certain time. Apparently she thought it was enough time because she booked my appointment.
I booked for highlights, root touch up and haircut. Turns out all I got was an overall color and that’s it because there wasn’t enough time to do what I wanted.
That wasn’t terrible because I was thinking maybe I should stop doing highlights anyway for a change. But I didn’t even have time to get a haircut.
The thing that really made me upset was that I was still charged for a haircut. The receptionist told me it was $ 130 for color, cut, and style and it didn’t matter that I didn’t get a haircut because it was a bundle.
Another issue I have is that my overall color was supposed to be dark brown but my hair is definitely black. I think I almost cried when I saw it. Reyna even consulted with someone when picking out the color and that person (I don’t know his name) chose this color.
So all of this together really makes me question how this salon is run. I won’t be coming back.

I got charged for $ 250 for Ombré not including the tips and no hair cut. But when I made appointment, they said including the hair cut. Rayna told me I need the second section for more lighter for another $ 250. So I listened to her. I made the 2^nd section appointment. But after I read some comments about her and the other I called to cancel today. It is pricy for $ 500 and not sure to get the color I want or not

Yes at first I thought my hair was going to be orange just waited five more minutes bam my hair was ashy blonde from dark brown. Maybe one more session and I will have the blonde I’m hoping for

A definite 5 stars for my stylist, Ana. I’ve lived in Vegas for 2 years after coming from Chicago and had the hardest time finding someone who knows hair inside and out — trends, color, styling, products. Ana really listens to your wants and concerns. I show her a photo and she tells me exactly how it can become a reality. She took my store box dyed one dimensional hair to a balayaged beautiful mane. My co-​workers literally screamed the day I had my hair done by her. I highly recommend JayRua Glam Hair salon and Ana.

Such great experience ! Jay is the guy! Loved how he took his time processing my hair from dark to light with extensions. His team is very supportive and professional. Definitely coming back from the bay area to Vegas ! :)

Oh my god 5 stars times 1,000!!! Such a FLAWLESS job by the amazing Brenda! I came in for a consultation and one week later my hair is looking amazing and dazzling! I can’t express my excitement enough. I was hesitant about going this light but Brenda did such a great job assuring me that it would work and she was spot on! Her technique was exquisite and her personality absolutely complimented her work. She was incredible to work with!!! So excited for this new look– thank you Brenda!!!

I recently got my hair done in California and I was not impressed at all as you can see the picture on the left that’s not ombré. So that’s when I went to get my hair done here by people who actually know what there doing. * look at the picture on my right * I got my ombré done with this very sweet and comforting girl named Ashley, she worked wonders on my hair, she was so sweet, she had that personality that makes you feel like you have known her for years. I truly love my hair and I haven’t for so long I will be driving to Vegas from now on to do my hair with Ashley

My wife has been wanting to get her hair done here since our daughter got it done a few years ago. Finally I said «babe you deserve it make an appointment». Little did She know she would receive an ombré hairstyle that would bring Chuck Norris to his knees. She immediately sank into her knees and wept tears of pure joy, and by «pure joy» I mean «pure Jack Daniel’s». I combed her angel like hair and automatically increased my max bench press by a 100lbs.
When I first saw how beautiful her hair was I thought «this is what it must feel like to ride a rainbow on the back of unicorn». Almost like seeing Jesus and Big Foot in the same day.
My wife hasn’t stop talking about how nice Ashley (hairstylist) was. So I write this to Ashley… Thank you for helping my wife feel as beautiful on the outside as she is on the inside. My wife looked amazing and now she is a Goddess.

I’ve finally found my go-​to salon.
I’ve been debating back and forth whether to go lighter or not and how soon to go. After much debating, I got a message from their Instagram stating they had an opening later that day. (Don’t be surprised though if you’re trying to get see the same day, they’re usually pretty busy!)
My stylist was Brenda who is fairly new to the salon, but don’t let that fool you. She did wonders to my hair! I came in with over gone hair (roughly 2 inches above my hip) and lighted ends from a previous blonde ombré. She cut 2 inches off, reshaped and thinned out my hair. I commend anyone who has the patience to deal with my hair. I’m Filipino, so you already know I’m dealing with thick, long hair. She delivered what I asked for.
I was aiming for a warm toned balayage ombré and that’s exactly what I got, probably even better. She paid attention to detail the whole way threw.
The best part? Their prices, in my opinion, are amazing! I know you should never go cheap on your hair, but it’s a win-​win situation when the service is awesome and the price is awesome as well.
I’ll be coming back here for sure.

Reyna is AMAZING!!! She’s a MASTER of color. This was the second time I’ve gotten my hair done by her and both times I was completely satisfied.
I’m very particular when it comes to coloring my hair. I used to get very anxious before I met Reyna, but now that anxiousness has disappeared.
Their new location is very chic and classy feeling. Everyone, including the front desk girls are very nice and friendly.
I made my appointments well in advance because I know she books up very quickly.
I wanted to go higher and lighter with the color this time and she definitely did not disappoint. My hair is pretty dark, so I know I’ll be there for a good few hours and Reyna is always so patient and down to earth. She explains everything to you so you understand the process, what she’ll be doing and why. I got exactly what I wanted and it turned out PERFECT!
She recommended certain products to maintain the color and if you ask her any questions, she’s more than happy to answer them for you.
Tho it seems that all the stylists are awesome, I would highly recommend going to Reyna.

Reyna was an hour past my appointment time for just a consultation. She was standoffish and not very helpful. Unfortunately, it did not work out. Their work I saw leaving the salon was great, but they will never see a dime from me!
I highly recommend Bombshell Beauty Lounge which is downtown at the Ogden if you’re Asian and you want bright blonde ombré!! My hair has never looked better!

So I am currently in Bali… Ashley did my hair about a month ago… My hair grows really fast and the beaded weft she’s did is amazing! She puts the bead on in a way I’ve never seen before. She hides the bead so it doesn’t even show. It looks as if the track/​weft is coming from your scalp. I also called her randomly before my trip and even though she wasn’t working she still met up with me to look at my hair and dye the extensions and I got my hair done the next day. She is reliable and amazing! I’d recommend her DEFINITELY. I am very very difficult to please and boy did she shut my mouth up with her mad skills… fast forward to today right now in this moment I am getting my hair redone in Bali… because my hair grew out so much… boy oh boy can I just say I wish I could like fly her out here to do my hair!!! These people have NO IDEA what their doing! Feeling homesick… only for the fact that I don’t have Ashley on call to do my locks!
First thing I’m doing when I get back is having you do my hair ashley no one does it like you I swear you got me spoiled now!

I’ve been following Jay Rua and his salon on Instagram for awhile and finally took the plunge and booked an appointment after I saw a new stylist special they were offering for a haircut, balayage/​ombré, and style starting at $ 120 for shoulder length hair. I’ve been wanting a blunt lob for awhile now and found this deal to be perfect. So when I made an appointment over the phone I specifically mentioned this special (which they verified) and described my current hair and the style I wanted: a blunt bob, shoulder/​collarbone length, with sunkissed, natural balayage. Based on what I said, the receptionist put me on hold for a few minutes and apparently talked to a few of the stylists who could give me what I wanted. She finally linked me up with Jessica and gave me a quote of $ 120-​$ 155. FYI, they do require a $ 30 deposit fee that applies towards your final payment that is nonrefundable if you cancel without rescheduling (which is actually the first time I’ve ever encountered a salon that did that).
Two weeks later, on the day of my appointment, I was very nervous/​excited. The salon is very big and clean. They offer free water, coffee, tea, and cookies! Jessica did a consultation on my hair and said, «Oh actually I’m no longer considered one of the new stylists.» Thus, her starting price for balayage was actually more than the special they offered, which is why I took off one star for the misinformation given to me by the receptionist on the phone, since I specifically asked that I be booked with one of the new stylists to take advantage of the special. A little bit of a bummer, but I also know great work doesn’t come cheap.
So even though it cost me a bit more than what I originally expected to pay, I walked out of the salon loving my new hair! Jessica was meticulous and actually listened to what I wanted, and even consulted with Jay before starting to make sure she could achieve the look I wanted. I appreciated the time she took to get a second opinion. I also specifically asked for face framing highlights and she has been the only stylist able to do that for me. Most of all, my hair still feels strong, thick, and healthy after the whole process!
I will definitely return to her for the next touch up! Thanks Jessica and Jay Rua Glam Salon!

I love this salon… I been looking for a change and was scare where to go to. I went once to there old location and they did a fantastic job… So I return after 4 years. Because is the only salon I trust with my hair…
As I walked in is was a great experience, great atmosphere… Everyone was very nice and welcoming… My stylist was Tim and he is awesome… He transformed me… I love the way he explain every step and made me feel very comfortable on making this change… He is hilarious … I also like that he gave me advice. Tips… And what products To use to keep my hair looking great… I will be returning and I 110% recommend this place… And most important TIM… For such a great job.

Heard about Jay Rua Salon from a friend, her hair is always on point so of course I had to check out the reviews on Unilocal and social media. So glad I did because I am in love with my hair!
Walking into the salon had me like dayummm this is so nice and fancy! (even the restrooms were on point) And as Tim would say… That’s what you get when 2 gay guys open a salon together (of course it’s classy and chic). I have never seen the techniques that Tim used done on my hair before, nor have I ever had so much effort and skills put into it. Tim is phenomenal and made me feel at ease before he even touched my hair. They were so professional and explained every single step to me with confidence! I am absolutely in love with my hair!!!

I absolutely love this salon: the professionalism, the atmosphere, and the attention to detail in the décor!
My hair stylist for life Ashley now works here and I can tell that the owner Jay strives for everyone to improve, he is very willing to give advice and encourage good work.
I couldn’t be more impressed with the staff.

Whether you want to change your look COMPLETELY or slightly tweak it, Ashley will always listen and deliver.

From Glamour to Jay Rua Glam! Still the same talents but just a different space! I really love what they did with the salon! It’s so beautiful inside with little different details as decorations. Definitely pleases the eyes when you first walk in.
Overall I give this salon a 5. I called the day before my appt looking to get in ASAP to do my hair and a 2:00 spot was available. At first I was interested in going lighter with the highlight technique but as I did more research I saw that balayage was more of a blending highlight look. Eglee was my stylist and she did such an amazing job. At first I asked questions and she did her best to inform me of what steps she would be taking to achieve the best results I could achieve. I trusted her. She obviously knew what I wanted and she did such a wonderful job accommodating to what I wanted and how much my hair could take.
Anyways as for other stylists, everyone was friendly and very confident in their work. Jay, the owner, full of life and definitely enjoying his job. There was also this guy who made sure the salon was kept clean and tidy at all times.
I also love the products they also use. Moroccan smells so good!
I’m so excited to maintain my hair with salon! The way my hair looked at the end of my appointment made me feel like pretty. Can’t wait to see Eglee again!

Let me start off saying that you get what you pay for. And yes, the prices are somewhat expensive but the results are unbelievable!
Reyna, the stylist I was paired with, is phenomenal! She is so amazing and passionate at what she does that it translates in her work. I have thick asian brassy hair and I’ve been to other stylists and wasn’t as impressed as I am with her.
Lol to be quite honest she bumped up my confidence bar after my appointment. I was whipping my hair everywhere haha! Thank you Reyna! You’re the best!!!

Jay and his team are absolutely amazing known them for few years now and I will continue to go here this new location is far… From me but I would drive there no matter what. Highly recommend them all

This salon is great everyone is always happy to see you and very welcoming! The salon is amazing and the staff makes you feel at home. This is my second time coming to jay, he is very talented and loves what he does, he gives great advise when it comes to taking care of your hair. My hair feels soft and it’s very shiny, I love how my haircut came out! Thank you Jay you are the best!

I have finally found my hairstylist/​colorist! Ana Rua gave me the color that I kept trying to achieve, that no other stylist at other salons could get right before (it always ended up too brassy and orange/​yellow). After a while I just gave up on finding someone who could accomplish my desired color so I just dyed it back to dark brown and kept it that way for about a year. I am so thankful for finding Ana, it’s been a few weeks and I’m in love with my hair, regardless of if I wear it straight or styled. Not only is she a genius with hair color, she also cuts and styles hair incredibly well. Ana is a true professional, she listens to what you want and is so sweet and friendly. I highly recommend her!

I absolutely love Reyna!!! She is my hair fairy godmother! I would recommend her to everyone, she takes her time and talks to you the whole time. She doesn’t make you feel awkward at any time during your hair process. The best thing is that she remembered facts about me the second timeI returned. She makes my blend perfect every time! I will never go to anyone but her. She made me feel and look a million times better! If you want to look amazing I recommend that you go with Reyna!
